They might have employed a less qualified peep for the post u interviewed for and den employed the more qualified candidate as his junior officer, so u can do the work while the person rakes the pay. On a serious note, Ur offer should come with all the details u need. Ur salary, upfront, quarterly and any other fringe benefits. Today, I received a mail containing my appointment letter and I see the gave me grade level 3 step 2. Although it is a newly commissioned government agency and I am a university graduate with about 5 years work experience. Now I am confused with the grade level I am being offered.
Secondary, I currently have another appointment letter with a private company lacated in the north east, the salary is good with allowance and the working condition is not so bad, I would have loved to take that offer but the location is not favorable to me as my family is scattered between the north west and south west so going to the north east to work will be a difficult thing for me.

A University graduate in any federal parastatal today will either be employed with Conraiss 7 which is same as level 8 depending on the salary scale of the place.
If it's Law or Medicine or vet medicine, she gets to be placed on level9 direct.

Take the North East job. Lemme just make some mouths water. If it is what i think it is.... It was almost 20 times minimum wage. Coincidentally, I had a similar decision to make 7 years back. I chose the North East and I have zero reasons to regret. 20 to 50. PS- Collect first salary before making a decision as someone has said. Leave that "family" thing out of your decision-making. You have been employed on a special scale. Not the conventional federal civil service scale. Wait to collect your first salary before you make the wrong move. Otherwise get someone working in the establishment to request more information.

There agencies that start fro such grade level...u are placed on grade level 9...that's not a lower grade |

From my experience so far, A friend of mine got a federal job, but the computer operator made a mistake wen typing the appointment letter. And wen my friend complained, they corrected it. Don't conclude yet, go to the right office and state ur problem |

It might not be the general civil service scale, check the salary first , it should be on the same letter.
Also go to the organization and ask questions/ complain. Haba.

This is the same issue am facing in my place of work. Imagine am on Level 4 for the past 4 years and am working my a$$ out. I do almost all the core duties. Others sit and wait till month end to get their fat pay while me the Jaki takes the smallest pay.
I just pray for a better job let me leave.
