Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, has said the Igbos have no reason to complain about marginalization because when people from their region were in office, they failed to use the position to better the lot of the Igbo nation, IgbereTV reports. https://igberetvnews.com/1383470/chris-ngige-igbos-held-sensitive-positions-didnt-use-igbo-welfare/ 15 Likes

Buhari is doing what we want him to do, even if it will lead us to "whatever the choice words". For almost 50 years the South dominated all positions, now our children have "degrees" because that all was needed in the golden years. We encountered the same ideas among our plutocrats at home. They, too, always hoped for internal disruption, dissolution, civil war of Northern against Northern. Exactly the same ideas are encountered today. They say: "There will be a revolution in Nigeria in one weeks." They do not know who is going to make the revolution. There are no revolutionaries among us. Some have already left Lagos to Abuja because Lagos is too close to their revolution's future field of operations. They are establishing their headquarters far from their future field of battle. Nevertheless, they assert that the revolution will come. Who will make it? We do not know. How it will be made, we do not know either. All we know is that in North there can be, at the most, only a few fools who might think of revolution, and that they are all behind iron bars. Then they said: "Winter, North Winter is coming, and he will force North to her knees." But, unfortunately, the Northern people are "winter-proof." Northern history has passed through I do not know how many tens of thousands of winters. We will get through this one, too. Then they say: "Starvation will come." We are prepared against this, too. We know the humanitarian sentiments of our Southern opponents and so have made our preparations. I believe that starvation will reach them before it reaches us. Then they said: "Time is on our side." But time is only on the side of those who work. No one has been harder at world than we. Of that I can assure them. In fact, all these vague hopes which they are building up are absolutely childish and ridiculous. In general, I should like to add one thing: The Northern people can look back upon many years of development. Its history goes back 200 years. For 100 years there has been a Northern project, a project which actually contained only Northerners. During this time our people survived the most astounding blows of fate. It will also survive everything that the present or the future may bring. Indeed, it will do so even better, because it is my belief that there has always been a Northern people and, for more than 1000 years, a Northern project, but there has never before been Nigerian unity nor the compact organization of our people that we possess today, and there has not always been the leadership which the Northern people possesses today. 9 Likes 1 Share |

And how has he used his position as Labour and Productivity Minister to advance the welfare of not only the Igbo but the Nigerian workers? Has he proved himself any different from the so called Igbo he castigate? I know many former Igbo govt appointees who affected the lives of the common Igbo man but won't mention names. 73 Likes 4 Shares |

Let us do the maths, how many Igbo's have ruled this country? compared to the south west and the North, in which region of the country is poverty more endemic ? Ngige as an Easterner and a minister under Buhari, what has he done for the Igbo's in this administration, some people will say he is saying the bitter Truth, what kind of truth did he say? How good is northern Nigeria faring under Buhari? if they are in safe hands under their messiah, why is terrorism, banditry more imminent now in the North? how many south west are enjoying today under the ministerial positions they have, and from the fact that the VP is from the same region, people should stop painting failure as good or try to call a dog a bad name to hang it, power is transient, after you are out of power, what will people remember you for?. 36 Likes 1 Share |

When a sell out talks, you will know. The only lgbo man who was IG of police was for 5months in 2008. Yet you expect him to make an impact in 2020. Ngige that is talking was gov for 2 years what impact did he make? Ngige was a senator for 4 years what bill advancing lgbo interest did he implement. Ngige has now been a minister for 6 years , how has he helped lgbo people as a minister. He claims to be an apc stalwart alongside roahas, iwanywu, onu, kalu yet not a single project in the east. For a man who has been gov, senator and minister yet the road to his village is not tarred. No standard hospital in his village, even the community schools is nothing to write home about, he should STFU 55 Likes 4 Shares |

Yes, same thing u, Amaechi, Emefiele and others are also doing now. Niger republic is about to be connected by rail even when it makes less economic sense, when Igboland is still unconnected by any new railway lines. 1 Like |

I dont understand some people. When you are in a sensitive position, are you supposed to use that position for the welfare of all, or just your ethnic group? How can someone be talking about "one Nigeria" but support nepotism? 13 Likes 3 Shares |

Some people prefer to instigate violence, hatered and enemity amongst other tribes. People that are still divided between the OSU caste system in the 21st century... They'll rather masturbate on anything that concerns Yorubas, Lagos or TINUBU than to hold their useless state government leaders into account for their woes. The truth is bitter. 9 Likes 3 Shares
