Good morning Team, Please I'm in a situation where getting letter of recommendation from my under grad is delaying/difficult. Must the recommendation letter come from my under grad school only and must it be from my HOD. What other options can I explore? Please help!!! |

Kuwtify90: Recommendations usually are academic or professional. Most schools specify on which they require. Logically, considering the intended use is for an academic position, it's advisable to get an academic recommendation. My advice for your case is, possibly go to your undergraduate school and meet the lecturers one-on-one. This way, they have an inkling that you're in need for this. In a case where the location might be too far, try calling them personally. Explain the exigency of it. If possible, suggest a draft/template for them. This makes it easier for them. Its more like a thumb rule; if your school asks for three recommenders, reach out to at least five. So even if one or two disappoint, you'll be covered. I wish you well. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I booked 26th April but it was canceled and I got a mail advising me to rebook. When I opened my portal the earliest date was march 21st (which is beyond 120 days for me) and April fully book, May had few dates between 15th to the end so I took 24th. Let's see how it goes then. frapzkid: |

Thanks so much for your response. I appreciate. The husband is the primary applicant. Talking about POF, please how much should we be looking at as the funding doesn't cover my wife and 3 kids? Am just concerned about the VO talking about no home ties since we are applying together? what is your thought about this? What can we say to convince them if it gets to that please? Thank you fairheart: |

Good day. Please for anyone who has gotten admission into Western Illinois University, how long after sending your admission documents did you get a response? I have sent all my documents since January and what the school said was they'll refer someone to me after my documents have been reviewed. But I am yet to get a response since. Please I'll just like to know how long it took for anyone who got a response from WIU. |

Hello House, Please I have 2 questions. 1) Does anyone know any schools in the US that would fund an MSc student in Management of Information Systems or something along that line? 2) Is it possible for one to still apply for an F-1 visa after obtaining a H-1B visa? Thank you. |

Oluwanifemi96: It may... As the VO will prefer a tie with ur country other than with US. Telling him that you have someone in US, might make him think that you won't return after your studies. I may be wrong though. Let the gurus in the house, come and do justice to this, please. |

Kuwtify90: Bro, you can actually ask any of your professional boss in your previous work to place to help out, your immediate supervisor; HR and co. Don’t forget they (the school) said, PROFESSIONAL/ACADEMIC RECOMMENDATIONS. Personally, I’ve not use anyone of my school lecturer or prof as a recommender, never tried that. Reason? They’re “them being them”, always forming ‘strict’ and/or always being busy. I only ask my professional bosses, of where I’d my IT, NYSC, Previous work places to help with recommendations, and guess what? It doesn’t take them more than 3days to help out, since I’ve good relationship with them. Guess what? None of the recommendations have ever been decline. I got 5 Msc admits with them. It’s even good when you use the 3 referees on your Resume/Cv as also your recommenders. PS: DON’T WASTE TIME WAITING FOR PROFS!! |

Hello house and greetings. I'm new here and take this time to appreciate very one who have continued to be of help of several persons that have come through this path. Well done guys. I have this question to ask: I paid for my visa fee some time last year and because of the pandemic, I never booked an appointment. now in my quest to book one, I noticed that the fee on the site has increased from 62400 when I paid to 67200. My question then is, is my receipt number still valid to use or must I make up the money before I proceed with picking a date? |

GoodEvening. Please I need help regarding 214b reason for denial. I was delayed in November last year and February 2021 for 214b reason. Please how can I overturn this decision from the embassy in my next interview. How can I amend it? In my previous ds160 ,I filled that I have a relative in USA, and she would be paying for my trip. Also, I filled I was unemployed. I really thought the process was about sincerity. Please how can I go about filling a new ds160 considering all this? |

Woah Do you have any sort of funding, who's the relative to you, is the school in the same city or state as your relative. Sincerity matters that doesn't mean you should blow your chances completely by what you say. Send your transcript or conversation with the VO Koskos95: |
