otokx: They complied very well. I went to UNIBEN today and almost all offices were locked. The school environment was looking dirty because cleaners joined the strike 2 Likes |

Well this matter is like at some point SSANU go give up. They don't have the force like ASUU. But I pray at least NMWA will be paid in full. kay0195: |

Strike to be called off by Monday A meeting of JAC was called in Abuja for briefing by the leadership of JAC on how far they have gone in the negotiations with FG. What they presented was not too palatable but they advised the strike be called off and negotiation continue. 1. Govt promised to pay minimum wage consequential adjustment arrear but it has to be included in 2021 supplementary budget to be presented to National Assembly. Only God knows how feasible this could be. 2. Govt agreed to include some allowances into payroll three months from now. On this as you know, this Govt can never be trusted. 3. Several committees have been set up to look into all the issues including the fraud in IPPIS. Majority were not satisfied with suspending the strike. The explanation for requesting for a suspension was that our members capacity to withstand no work no pay as threatened by FG. After much agitations, it was agreed that the matter be referred to Congress and that congress be called on Friday 19th February and communicate resolution to National same day |

All promises no action. Let all Congresses vote to continue the strike. The government is irresponsible and not responsive. jeraw: |

UPDATE FROM OUR INDUSTRIAL ACTIONS The leaders of the two unions acting under the aegis of the SSANU/NASU Joint Action Committee JAC, are to meet the Federal Government’s delegation on Wednesday to try and resolve the industrial face off. Our correspondent further gathered that if the government agrees to the N20 billion Earned Allowance proposal, the strike could be called off. Speaking in a telephone chat on Tuesday, the National President of SSANU, Comrade Mohammed Ibrahim, confirmed Wednesday’s meeting and expressed the hope that it would go well. 2 Likes |
