Well, there are two different methods which aims to achieve two different results.

Building a fence with vertical or horizontal pillars along the fence lines is usually done to strengthen the fence and prevent cracks that might occur due to settlement or physical pressure from objects or even flooding. This type of fence is usually more difficult to break into, but it has a major design flaw, in the event of failure (if anything makes the fence to fall) the whole fence can fall since segments are usually linked with each other through pillars or beams.

The fence pictured above are done with block pillars, block pillars may be less strong, but it provides a good advantage, a segment of the fence can fall but the other segments will be standing strong. In this site, I have an old fence which i cannot trust its strength over the years, soni am using block pillars to build the fence, since i will use concrete to cast the top before putting fence electric wires. Besides, we are using the 6" solid blocks which are way stronger than the hollow blocks used in some builds.
I had to knock down the old fence to rebuild them when I found out that some old segments were weak.

We will return to this house today to start the lintels, beams and cast of the concrete columns. We also plan to complete the fencing, work more on the security man house plus other works.

Oga Spyder I salute you. Pls is their anything wrong with using 6” blocks for building a duplex and also the piping? Pls what are the benefits n disadvantages of using 6” instead of 9” for a duplex.

Using 9" hollow blocks is a standard specification in the building industry, especially in duplexes and other houses that will rise more than one floor. This is because of a lot of things,

One, using 9" blocks automatically makes the width of your columns to be 225mm (9" before plastering. Column width is very important, especially in bearing of loads coming from the top.
Secondly, using 9" blocks makes it easier for you to pass a lot of piping fittings into walls without issues. Thanks.

Those planks look like they have never been used. Its worth spending the extra on nylon to save on new planks if you intend to do a second pent house decking and even parapet.

The price fluctuations really affected me here a lot, but my client bailed me out on the decking which I had a variance of N600k +. Since then I had been stocking up on every stackable item towards building and completing this house. My quotations are always on overall cost of a stage, say, decking total lump sum.
