seankafor: Like I always tell people who care to know, giving every race an opportunity to lead shows that we are really committed to building a world where peace, love, fairness and justice reign. So, that position sends a message to that Nigerian boy or girl, who is losing his/her sleep reading while his or her mates waste theirs on social media and other frivolities, that there's a reward for hard work and the world is their oyster. Growing up, I realized I proud I was when I knew how important UN is to the world and that a black African from Ghana, Kofi Anan, was the head. That means a lot to everyone aspiring for greatness. On the flip side, you have no idea how heartbreaking and disheartening it is to learn that you cannot occupy certain positions due to your location or skin color. More importantly, it puts Nigeria and Africa on the global map. This is based on merit; madam Ngozi has an intimidating resume. 1 Like |
