Does it mean adman have finally abandoned this business |
Re: N1,200,000 or Less Tokunbo Cars by Hauptmann: 8:37pm On Mar 02, 2021 |
Asquare84: The truth is that his model was unsustainable, dem no dey do car business by hype. He still makes deals, but those kinds of offers he made when he first started largely don't exist anymore, COVID and exchange rate issues have erased the comparative advantage he had back then. Plus his abysmal customer service. 17 Likes 1 Share |

In the old days, many would have descended on you for calling his customer service abysmal. Hauptmann: 9 Likes 1 Share |

peeps4u: That's also true. Over time it dawned on many of the faithful disciples, that things are simply not as easy as his approach can make them seem. There was a time when at any point, even at odd hours, there would be a minimum of 10 people viewing the thread, but these days there may not even be any visitors in a 24 hour time span. Time is the great arbiter of all things, and unfortunately time has not been kind to his business model. We do hope things pick back up again, nevertheless. And that he works on his customer relations. 1 Like |

Hauptmann: I believe that people aren't buying cars again unlike before probably due to the planned decrease of customs duty to 5% Secondly cars are now super expensive due to the Dollar rate. 2 Likes |

Many of you here do seem to have mental problems, emboldened by obvious jealousy and hatred. You have the schadenfreude mentality- always wishing successful people bad and, enviously, trying to undermine their achievements. You want them to fail, so that you can say 'I told you so', (or, in your words, his business model is not sustainable)... Joor, ki lo kan e nibe? What's your business with how someone else runs his business, especially if you haven't patronized him before? And, if you have patronised him, is that not enough reason to not wish him bad or talk ill of him? We have all hammered on his communication issues. He knows what he's doing, he's not a baby. He can't take all deals, and can't satisfy everyone, either. I believe he would improve, over the long term. Has anyone come here to complain that they paid him and he didn't buy their car? Has anyone come here to say that, he requested more money than was, iinitially, agreed on? His business has a lot to do with fluctuations in exchange rates, and the custom duties and levies imposed by both the originating countries and destination countries, which affects the TLC. Over the years, when the exchange rates go up, OP has been known to lay low for some time, till the rates get better or till he finds suitable deals at the prevailing rates. His supportive and understanding viewers and admirers know this. If you go to the OfferUp electronic devices thread, many phones and laptops that used to sell below 100k in 2019, are now almost double, due to the present rates. Many deal hunters have paused dealing. It's not a do-or-die affair. If the situation is not suitable, chill, till things get better. If the OP posts cars at higher prices, you're one of the people that would still talk nonsense or call him greedy. It is the OP's prerogative, whether to continue searching for and posting deals or not, not yours -the viewers, and prospective clients. If anyone is pressed for deals, source for the dollars and enter auction sites yourself, or call/message OP directly, to get a quote. The OP has done/will continue to do everything humanly possible to make cars land in Naija at cheaper rates than the average Naija car stand. Man even took the RORO route, just to ship at cheaper rates. Come on, give him a break. He has earned his accolades and reputation. Instead of coming to his thread to knock his business model; to count the number of viewers; to talk about the overflogged communication issues (despite not having patronized him, and no one has come to claim that he collected money from them without delivering); and to challenge his decision to not post any deal that he doesn't consider good enough for his thread and clients, why not go start your own sustainable business model, kwanu? Gbe gbogbo enu e yanma-yanma yen soun. Just close that your gutter mouth. Which sustainable business(es) are you doing, hyped or not? Tell us. Elejo oshi. Trash talker. You know that COVID and exchange rates have affected businesses all over the world, and even the billion-dollar airline industry, yet, you're knocking a used-car procurement agent for pausing his deal hunting service due to higher rates? Envy is bad. You dey ment, obviously. Hauptmann: 33 Likes 1 Share |

seyithug: My post hurt your feelings, that's alright. The truth is often bitter, as they say. Try not to dwell on it. Accept it, and move on. Spend all this energy on making more money, so you don't spend all your time counting pennies and saving up for a miracle worker from Canada. Peace be unto you. 6 Likes |
