obidevine: The funny thing about this issue is that it seems to happen to everyone... Around November and February... I bet the fuel in the filling stations those period were not good. Just my opinion. Or your car is above 120k miles (typical life of a fuel pump) Happened to me too. You can change the complete full pump assembly . This would set you back about 20k or close. Honestly it is better than changing this and that which can easily add close to 20k if care is not taken. Second option is to live with it, start the car twice to get up and go, starter life would be slight affected. The problem is not the pump it self but the ability of fuel pump assembly to retain pressure after sitting a long time/over night {normally handled by the fuel pressure regulator} and unfortunately since your system is a returnless system, putting the key in the on position will not help you build initial fuel pressure. dicksonadams: Several vehicle manufacturers have solved this issue with introducing different techniques of priming the fuel injector lines. Peugeot, and landrovers prime the fuel line immediately the drivers door is opened, meaning as soon as you open the drivers door, the fuel pump is activated for 10secs then stops. It resumes if vehicle is started. Honda's, Kia's, Hyundai, and a bunch of American models prime the system when the key is turned to ignition. These methods all ensure you have a quick start when required at any time. I personally modified a rav4 2010 recently as i didn't see the need bringing down the fuel tank to replace the FPR and there was a lot of rust under the car. I used the drivers door signal. In the past the fuel pumps came on immediately ignition was turned on, you get a quick start yes, but if vehicle was involved in an accident, you have a fuel leak, you have a steady flow of fuel which results in a really bad fire. 4 Likes |

Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by DdenslordD: 11:50am On Feb 28, 2021 |
Numberz: What i suspect is you recently changed one of your front shafts or CV joint and since the ABS light is erratic then it means the gear teeth where the sensor reads the signal is either not of the same size as others or defective or dirty with grease or so. Please try to remember if you changed the shaft and follow that line. This is only if this happens on motion but if it happens stationary then the ANS module has been affected and needs to be changed |

Good morning oga GAZZUZZ and other car gurus in the house. Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by adubam(m): 5:06pm On Mar 02, 2021 |
haslaw: I can only give you answer to No 3. as a layman. Have you done wheel balancing and alignment? If not please do. Secondly if after doing that and the vibration still persist when you step your foot on the brake then do the following: a) You will need to check your brake pad. Try get a foreign use one, if after this and the vibration still persist then, b) You may need to change your brake disc. 3 Likes |

Good evening My Toyota Camry 2007 popped the following code Code: P2017 Mt symptoms were Poor Acceleration Stalling Engine Vibration while idle Diminished engine performance On further investigation, I realized that the problem is from the Intake Manifold Runner Valve Controller I learnt that the Intake Manifold Valve Controller controls the opening and closing of the valves, however, the position sensor which detects if the valves are open or closed seems to have a short circuit so it cannot perform its functions properly, therefore the valves are perpetually open I have watched videos were the Intake Manifold Runner Valve Controller was replaced on a Dodge on youtube, however, I have not seen one done for a Toyota Camry hence my question, can I replace the Intake Manifold Runner Valve Controller on a Toyota or I have to replace the whole Intake Manifold Runner Valve Assemble I have attached pictures for a clearer view Your reply is highly anticipated

Please House, does coolant have effect on a car mileage? The reason am asking is because I discovered after adding coolant to my radiator for the first time in January, since then have noticed appreciable increase(improvement) in mileage, infact my car breathes better, covers the same distance with almost half the same litres. Am trying to know what I did right that could cause that significant increase in mileage. Before my Honda pilot covers about 65miles with 30litres, now the same 30litres gives roughly 100miles(this is only city driving with frequent stop and go) |

Peterlove11: My bro, this kinda thing one can't really tell.... I leave that to the expert in the house.... If I may ask does your temp gauge now read half way as compared to before..!! |
Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by Peterlove11: 12:08pm On Mar 03, 2021 |
Okoyedavid3:. What I noticed is that it reaches half gauge faster than before. Before it takes more than 10mimutes of driving to reach half gauge, now it takes roughly 2minutes of driving. Though it still slightly below the mid(half) line. Another thing am thinking maybe the weather might be another contributory factor. Since January the weather has been hotter |

Peterlove11:Was your thermostat reinstalled after this coolant was added? |
Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by 9icetoo(m): 1:48pm On Mar 03, 2021 |
Peterlove11:Your thermostat has been reinstalled. Your car now gets to optimum operating temp quicker and the ecu now adjusts fuel efficiently. Hence the improvement in fuel economy. You are doing well. |
