So I had my 8s1p array changed to 4s2p and acquired a 24V 3KVA Growatt hybrid inverter through @Olopan of Rendezvous Solar, to replace my SMKSOLAR. He got it for me at a price less than those I got elsewhere, and the delivery was swift.

Growatt is notably faster in charging (maybe because it doesn't require minimum input voltage of 120v from pv).

To your question, from all indication it seem you inverter does not have the float bug? Since that is the case I will set bulk at between 27.6 and .8 while float will remain at 27v.
When you make that settings check the inverter to confirm if it passes the 27v while charging

It's white. The cover of the connection panel is yellow; so maybe it's the one you're guessing.

I believe it's was originally based on Expert variants but they did in house designed and changed things to suit them ....as no float bug or whatsoever for now .... All installation done with growatt is performing brilliantly with no issue So far.

Holding a simple incandescent bulb in line as you make the final inverter to battery connection also works to smooth out the inrush current required by the inverter internals and prevent any sparks

.....use a simple incandescent bulb in line as I am about to connect the negative inverter cable. We always connect positive cable first. The bulbs are cheaply available and work just as a beefy resistor to subdue any sparks. I have also heard a diode could work but never tried one.

Bro I won't lie o. In an installation I did for personal use, after the second trip up the ladder with a 330w panel, I was panting and a little exhausted. My own weight is a couple of kg above twice the weight of the 450w.

I have decided that in any other personal installs going forward, I will hire the services of professional climbers and probably heavyset type that will do that wahala of carrying it to the roof.

I've had this scenario (LVD) kill an inverter before. Attached is a picture of the inverter. Inverter screen went blank and unresponsive. It was quite strange that a battery disconnect by a BMS should kill an inverter but here we are.

Then maybe it's best we don't let the BMS do the LVD. That job should be left to an external add-on device or to the inverter if it can be programmed.

On some their party installs that I supervised, I've been called on two occasions where the LFP went totally down and the voltage meter would not even display nada. Turned out the BMS disconnect occured. Solar power will not wake up the BMS neither did PHCN input via LFP charger. So I had to connect similar battery in parallel to wake it up.

The inverters were BTS 1050kva and load did not exceed 50 watts both occasion. They did not take a hit. So I suppose the negative impact of the BMS tripping on the inverter could also have to do with the extent of load when the disconnect happened.

But that KEYE name sha, is it a DEYE variant?

beware! most them are modified sine wave. considering the 2-3months wait, why not purchase in naija.

All inverters I have for personal use in recent times are PSW purchased from AliExpress. And yes, they all have low no-load consumption. There is this particular brand from a seller where I have purchased 4 units (3 units 4000w peak and 1 unit 1000w peak). Delivery is usually in 2 weeks with UPS shipping.

One of the 4000w peak failed after the third day apparently because the yeye man did all sorts of experimenting with and abusing the inverter - against technical advice - including placing a pressing iron on it. I complained to the seller (I avoided the abuse part) and he offered to send a replacement at half the price, since I complained it would be impossible to ship the faulty one back to him.

One of the 4000w have been in operation for 1 year, 1000w in operation for 10 months and the latest 4000w has served for 1 month.

The faulty 4000w inverter does not show a single component damage, no burns, no smells, nothing. It just wouldn't turn on. I therefore believe it can still work. So if anyone here has the gift of reviving inverters, please.

Keye could be anything

Yeah, solar power or the inverter charger was unable to wake up the BMS. Load when disconnect happened is just approximately 1.2KW. The Keye inverter was rated for 5KW and has been doing well without issues on lead acid battery.
