Please what is the update on the Treasury Bill? I didn't keep tab on same nowadays due to low yield.

However, I have an idle cash in the region of N2m waiting to be invested at present; it is an accumulated investment in treasury bill on I-invest app which just matured today.

Save for 3.39 yield pa yield for 357 days offered by I-Invest, I must confess that I have run short of the best ideas on how to invest this idle fund.

Financial gurus in the house, please come to my aid on this subject matter.

Asset diversification is good. However, over-diversification is an enemy of returns, particularly when the available fund is not substantial (in this case, 2M).

What if I give him sure odds with betnaija and he plays with the whole N2 million to win N20 million?

For an investment with Gurranteed capital and returns, I will advice you invest the fund in VGIF while waiting for TBills rate to improve.

OMO is for the big guys, foreign portfolio Investors, pension fund and banks, who have access to hundreds of millions and billions of dollars

The policy will only affect non-resident investors

Nigerian Pension funds and other non-bank domestic institutional investors are not allowed to invest in OMO. That’s why the NTB window is oversubscribed. Billions of Naira of pension fund money looking for where to park.

Only FPIs and commercial banks are allowed to bid for OMO bills.

If any one is guaranteeing you rates that are higher than what is obtainable in the market, it is one of two things. They are either frauds or they are taking your money to invest in high risk transactions and high risk transactions can never be guaranteed so go figure.

Interest rates are low everywhere in the world. Safe Eurobonds are not yielding up to 4%. FGN savings bonds are around 5 to 6% and long term FGN bonds are not yielding more than 10% at the moment. Last auction, 12 month Tbill was around 5.5%. So how is any legit party able to guarantee higher rates?

If you want to preserve your capital and want to put it in safe securities as soon as possible, you better wait for the next Tbill auction and put it there. The rates are expected to be around 5 to 7% for 360 days. Not the best but still better than nothing. Otherwise, there is the FGN savings bond that closes today. Emmanuel shared that document a few days ago. There are also fixed income funds in the market offering decent rates of around 5 to 7%.

However, if that money is play money and you are feeling like taking risks, then sure, put it anywhere and hope for the best.

Anyway, I am targetting where I will be investing about 1m, I'll be getting from osusu ( e pain me say dem no gree gimme no 1 or 2 that I was targetting). One "come and buy land" babe has been on my neck though.

One word, Safelock... I do it for like 6 months though, 2x now @10% p.a. and you get your upfront.

When you safe lock your money for one year, have you asked them what they are investing your money in? Do they send you documents to show this?

To avoid stories that touch, people need to pose these types of questions to anyone that is claiming that they can invest money and guarantee returns...
