pls, read my post again, did I say he wasn't good enough? and, by the way, what did ighalo even achieve at man united?

Well for one, he is the first Nigerian to have played for man utd big achievement itself paving the way for future youngsters. Why do Nigerians like its stars retiring at a young age BTW when the likes of Ronaldo, Ramos, modric, etc are still playing for their national team in their mid 30's. Also, most of those guys you listed are inexperienced" talented but inexperienced

The 2, but mostly foreign based. Sometimes, the sort of promotional news they convey just makes it obvious. That site reported that "micheal olise" of reading fc will be included in Nigeria squad and penciled down in a 433 formation only to counter that claim by saying "Micheal olise" isn't interested in playing for Nigeria. This is Exactly what we call "Junk Journalism"

What an assertion!. However quick questions.
Are Ronaldo and co playing in the middle east?. Are they bench warmers like Ighalo was at Man utd (He was even left out of the squad on many occasions?)
Lastly, if our talented youngsters playing at a much higher level than Al-Shabab are deprived of opportunities NOW, when exactly is the "experience" going to come?

A proven experienced player with a history of Top notch performance and fit/playing has nothing to prove anymore. As long as igjalo is Fit/playing now, he can still contribute to SE. For goodness sake, the guy is just 31 WTH

OwngoalNigeria reporting that some Super eagles players are not happy with Rohr's insistence on recalling Ighalo

imo, let Odion rest, he should allow the young boys play

I don't think he will be comfortable with a bench role and he will only destabilize the team

Let the best players play, youth is not the determinant of quality.

How old is Ibrahimovich and Ronaldo, for goodness sake.

Sincerely I see no sense in recalling ighalo to the national team. dude has done well, but right now he's not really needed. we have a ton of strikers flooding in now, there needs to be healthy space for competition and not ranks and seniority playing out. if ighalo comes back, he'll love to be there till afcon and world cup and likely may be captain and be invited. So where will you keep onuachu, moffi, Simi, iheanacho, Maja . who are pushing their game up. these guys have even shown more consistence than ighalo lately, nobody can show with any evidence that ighalo will perform more than them currently. so how will things look like by 2022? we should learn to leave out old players who are past their peak, except they are extraordinary. it's a regular practice of the best national teams in the world.

First of all, lf Ighalo wanted to continue playing in the EPL he would, maybe not neccesarily with Manchester United.

Ighalo has nothing to prove, he has decided to follow the €€€£££$$$ thats his choice.

None of the current set of strikers in the SE have surpassed his achievements and indeed may never and that includes Osimhen.

So please let's give respect to whom respect is due.

Can you imagine the audacity? Someone that has 16 in 35 almost 1 in 2 goals for Nigeria, was recently the top scorer at ANCQ, ANC, just recently played at the greatest English team in the world isn't good enough for Nigeria 23 because we want to give youngsters chances? Let it make sense please!

It seem you are God and you know what the future hold for us all, because i wonder how you confidently use this word ''may never'' .

Osimhen has five goals in ten appearance while ighalo has 16 in 35 appearance with this speed in two to three years i see osimhen beating ighalo record.

If you want to use the afcon as a criteria to judge osimhen he's already among the top scorers if am not mistaking with another two rounds of match's remaining.

Nothing can substitute experience. We keep on saying give the younger ones a chance and the cycle continues when the younger ones become men.let us learn to give experience a chance while the younger ones develop without pressure. Ighalo's performance and Omerue's performance in the last AFCON was as a result of experience. You will hardly see a successful team without experienced players, even if they get to semifinals or final, their inexperience will give them away

Lol, Inviting Musa does that makes it right?. That something was done wrong in the past does not means it should be repeated.
And besides Musa did not voluntarily retire.
We should all understand what it means to come out of retirement

Any sensible club now will sit ighalo's ass on the bench for the four Nigerian strikers I mentioned earlier as per current form.
