It doesn't take long to find slums in Ghana, they are everywhere you look. At least there is zoning and order in Kibera and Kyaletisha.

#Ghana be village.

#Ghana be slums.

It's not rocket science, just crystal reality.

No, I first heard in 2012 all the land from Kitengela from like 3 km either side of the highway had been bought from the original Masaai owners. Just individuals and chamas; no dynasties!
Anyway, its INTERESTING in that its going to be a development corridor like the ORIGINAL Railway. Most of our population and associated developmemt is within 120 km neither side of the Old Meter Gauge Rail.

Same thing has happened with Thika Road: an entire economic corridor has grown along the 50 km route and will extend with the dualisation to Kenol and ultimately Nyeri town.

[url]amp/s/www.standardmedia.co.ke/amp/home-away/article/2001378974/how-a-50km-road-project-built-property-millionaires/url]

Real estate, transport and other biz has birthed millionaires !

The same process is happening along the 120 km Kitengela Namanga road. I, for one am eagerly awaiting the rebasing and hope it captures these new developments.

Dude, 3 DECADES from now economic historians will write how such developments helped us reach 1st world status!
You read it here first.
I am doubtful about lapses.. . but wish we can work on superhighway from TZ border to Somalia border along the coast line. Our word class tropical coast will attractinvestment plus efficient ports and many rivers flowing into coast that can irrigatethe land. That is ripe for serious investment. Just build huge highway along the coastline.Lapset depend on discovery of minerals and such

I rmbr us explaining to these Genuises the new direct ship to rail off loading but they just couldn't understand. Anyway: Kenya has introduced the use of double stack trains to speed up the evacuation of cargo at the Port of Mombasa and deal with mounting congestion.

Yes Mombasa is set for good time..I see this year hitting 40m metric tonnes..Durban stuck at 70.

Just simple minded folks legging it inside mutatau
Nairobi has functional commuter rail where abuja has fulani cattle roaming the streets

DON'T dismiss LAPSSET! It's an integral leg of the Global, OBOR project the Chinese One Bridge One Road to bring tramsport infrastructure EVERYWHERE . Idk the progress, tbh but the highway/rail is to terminate in Douala in 2030. This is all I could find.

The construction of the first three berths of Lamu Port and now the Sh10.8 billion Lamu-Garsen highway that is 75 per cent complete have brought optimism to the locals, which has further been heightened by Kenya Ports Authority moving to position itself to receive the first commercial vessels by seconding more staff to the region.

I do agree with you on a border 2 border transport linkage. Ideally, a high speed electric rail/highway from Lunga Lunga to Kiunga tranversing all the towns Kwale, Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu. THAT WOULD BE A GAME CHANGER!
Not superfast at 400 kph, but a modest 160 kph that could be extended along the Tz coast down to Moz and the entire African coastline if the Hoggenheimers down South are amenable.

Just 2 lane highway will open that area...maybe another parallel road 40kms .Lap set is risky...isiolo international airport is still idle and lamu port...it depend on regional countries and discover of minerals..it long play. The coast is low hanging

Little knowledge is dangerous. A primitive visits western world and come home to build himself a miniature developed city...that has everything he saw.Calabar is grandeur scale of this. I would like to know how they train their architects. In Kenya its one of the toughest courses .The basics of functionality escape them. You drive in the miniature double lane then reach your house and there is not enough parking...lol.You stop every 5 meters for zebras to cross..

The Bagamoyo Malindi highway has begun. Our Lunga Lunga Malindi section will cost 16 bn. Extending it to Kiunga on the Somali border add another 32 bn on the high side-that finance can be arranged. IMO, that's the low hanging fruit. The rail CAN come later: LAPSSET will come into its own once S Sudan settles down and the Ethiopians learn to handle their ethnic issues. The LAPSSET counties also NEED a MINDLIFT to generate internal revenue and leverage this global project. They HAVEN'T BEGUN to scratch the surface of their agriculture m/livestock and tourism potential.
Eg, I HAVEN'T heard of Tana River talking of partnering or taking over the million acre maize scheme after the CHOSENITES screwed the central gov. Just BBI BS!?
Look at this F'ERY!

Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana has lauded Members of County Assembly of Tana River for passing the Building Bridges Initiative but insisted that the County stands to lose more than Sh. 2 billion.

That project can feed E and C Africa ending once and for all maize the insecurity.

Btw,am told the entire stretch along the Kitengela Namanga road til the Tz border has been bought up. Its very possible but can anyone confirm?

Last time I checked the county government had to intervene. Big fellas would come from Nairobi and offer their big cars to the gullible maasais who in turn offered large tracts of land worth far more than the range rovers, v8s.

Most of Kitengela is bought up but if you progress further you might find some good land.

Another idiotic post from a Kenyan suffering from inferiority complex.

Africa is already an embarrassment of a continent, it’s literally the joke of the world.

Was it Nigeria that made trump refer to the continent as shithole??. Just look at the way the whole continent is begging for vaccine ..I guess that’s Nigeria faults too, sure blame Nigeria for all the ills of Africa..you’re just reinforcing the reason why it’s called the giant.

Fool, Nigeria is the one currently changing the negative connotation people associate with the continent dolt..from the Caribbean to Portugal to the rest of the world Nigeria is the reason why people are beginning to see Africa in a new light.

Look at what Ghana did with the year of return, they tried and succeeded in showing the world that Africa has more to offer than warfare..now you have actual people leaving the US to settle in Ghana.

But look at your country Kenya, very lazy set of people , no innovation, no creativity just jealousy and envy for other country putting in the work.

Alaye, you lazy people need to learn to stop pointing fingers at others and do your own part.

Nigeria is not responsible for the misfortune of Kenya.

Are you by any chance mad. The only recognition you're getting abroad is because of your music. Who in his right mind would leave the Americas for that godforsaken shiithole.

I honestly believe that 90% of your people are mentally challenged. Either that or you live in a world of your own. Even a blind man can see that Nigeria is nowhere near SA, Egypt or Algeria. You can fake your stats all you want but we have eyes and we can see that Naija is nothing but a certified craphole.

Nice - the entire coast is low hanging fruit - it has many assets in my view - the pristine world class coastline - the low lying areas with rivers flowing into it make irrigations a viable - the minerals potential - and of course the ports make manufacturing very viable. The problem the coasterians are not aggressive as people - they are Tanzanian type of lazy people
