Every other soup is limited to the tribe or region that owns it.

Banga soup is called "Obe Eeyin" in yoruba. Eeyin is Yoruba name for palm kernel. so don't sweat it. Banga soup is not indigenous to Niger Delta alone.
This is similar to Ogbono soup, which is called "Obe Aapon" in Yoruba. Aapon is the inner seed you get from "Oro" fruit.

The word or name "banga" isn't very common in the East, most Easterners would find it difficult to explain what banga is unless you call the native name.

God BLESS Naija and quality food which we export to other countries - USA, UK, Holland, Benin/Cotonou.One thing one will definitely miss from Nigeria is our food/restaurants-our mama put/small& big fast foods prepare affordable food which is readily available even from traffic jams( lol) to different 'kitchens' littered about. This is scarce in other African countries.
Banga, I believe will be sweet, but I never taste am before though I'm Deltan. Groundnut soup may be popular with our Northern brothers( correct me if I'm wrong). Cameroonians love groundnut soup which they use to eat corn meal and groundnut also rice. They don't have variety of rice preparation like us. They have Achu meal/soup which they eat with pounded cocoyam. To get better restaurant with assorted meal preparation eg rice variety, beans & bread, asun, peppersoup, moimoi is scarce in Benin/Cotonou and Cameroon. Cameroonians eat moimoi( koinkin) too.
One Mama Igbo that the husband may just wear knickers, cooks the meals( our different Naija meals) while she and the shop boys sell at Peka Dix@ Cotonou is really making it. A Nigerian was the Chief cook of ex- President Sir leaf. Nigerians are the BEST cook in Africa or black Africa.

Look my friend ofe akwu is very popular in the East the name (banga) is popular in Nigeria everyone know what banga is in the east

Method of preparing it differ just a little (based on ingredients of choice), they don't even taste that different, huge difference there is niger Delta banga is usually thick while ofe akwu is a bit light

Banga is one of my favorites but the matter be say after gulping it, I develop running tummy

Nah. Banga is very different from Ofe akwu in ingredients and preparation.
The only thing they have in common is palm fruit juice.
Ofe akwu is eaten with rice. Banga is eaten with Starch or something.

No one in Igbo land eats Banga. Its a soup limited to the Edo and Edoids(Isoko, Urhobo). I don't think anyone else outside that zone fancies the soup.
