May the Almighty God grant the State Government the wisdom of King Solomon on this matter.

Like I earlier said on a similar thread, constitutionally, muslim students have the right to wear hijab in a govt owned christian sch, but the reality on ground is that, govt owned muslim schools in Ilorin would not tolerate christian students to have fellowship [FCS] in their schools. Now, why should christian schools tolerate the use of hijab? If Kwara state govt wants to be fair in this situation, as they are enforcing the use of hijab in all gov't owned schools, they should as well pass the law that all christian student should be allowed to have fellowship in all gov't owned muslim schools. That's fairness and religious tolerance!

There is no single government own Islamic school in Kwara,if there is one name it.

If you want to wear hijab enrol in a hijab wearing school. You don't go to a Christian school and insist on wearing your hijab when it's not permitted in the school. This is all shades of wrong. You love the quality of the school enough to enrol but you can't subject yourself to the dress code. Go to where your hijab is permitted. And let peace reign.

Government schools are for all, Christians or Muslims.

The best thing is for the government to ban any religious activity, Christianity or Islam.
Anyone who wants to practise any religion should do that under his/her father’s roof. After all, Nigeria is a secular nation the last time I checked

You brought the words right out of my mouth.

That governor is senseless, why will you compulsory hijab in public schools talkless of private schools, what will happen if the egungun worshippers decided to come to school with "mariwo",and Oro worshippers come with their own attires?

Let Muslims attend Muslim schools and leave secular and Christian schools rather than enforcing their religious practice on others.

I think the comparison you're making here doesn't hold any substance, why? Because we're not talking about worship here but dress code and I'm sure no Muslim school in kwara forces it's Christian students to wear hijab because it's a Muslim school so why should a Christian school, aided by the government of the state that is predominantly Muslim try to force it's Muslim students not to wear hijab? Let's be logical men!

I did my secondary school at Taoheed secondary school in Ilorin some years back and the Christians were allowed to have their FCS in the school, the Christian and Muslim prayers run concurrently on the Assembly ground.Am a christian and till now I can pray very well in Islam till now same with the Muslim students they can pray and recites the Lords prayer. so this your point of government schools not allowing christian student to have their FCS is false.

Christians don’t force their ways down their throats, why are they doing that? Are they trying to islamatize this country? This is very annoying.

CAN cannot win the case in supreme court. Only way out is for missions to take full control of those schools. Next thing Mohammed people would do is to start appointing muslims as principals of mission schools. They would claim it is public schools.

That is the case at Supreme Court. The missions want back their school. The Government is taking it by force because they are providing grant that wasn’t requested by the missions in the first place.

We keep dwelling on mundane issues allowing real problems unattended. There are islamic schools that approve wearing of hijabs. Take your kids there if that is your criteria of what a good school is. Leave the mission schools for those it was meant for. Case closed.

The Best solution for the church is for them to close down the school, or even demolish the school, since the purpose of the missionary is now defeated...Because Govt will always win, so far the school is controlled by the Govt..

More so, most of this churches now has Nursery and primary school of their own.
Its on church land , and govt don't have control on the land, but on school.
Re: Kwara: Crisis Brews Over Use Of Hijab In Christian Schools by cheango: 7:47am On Mar 07, 2021
Hijab is used Before Islam, Its a culture, not from God.

Of recent, Hijab wearing in schools , has been generating a lot of heat.
Muslims said it is a command from God, so I did my research on it. At the end, I saw that Hijab is even used before Islam., and everywhere Hijab is mentioned in the Qur'an it means Curtain, Partition, separation, Hide and Wall...Khimar in the Qur'an, is the related word to our today meaning of Hijab.

Allah only commanded us to be modest- and to cover our body, our shame, and our beauty..

The 3 main verses people use for hijab are :
"O you Children of Adam! We have bestowed on you raiment to cover your shame as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness, that is the best. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may receive admonition.” (Quran 7:26)

“And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear therof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, or their brothers' sons or their sisters' sons, or their women or the servants whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex, and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O you Believers, turn you all together towards Allah, that you may attain Bliss.” (Quran 24:31).

“O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.” (Quran 33:59).

As we can see from the above, No where in all these Qur'an verses, Hair, Head or face covering is specifically mentioned.
Interestingly, if we must follow any of these verses, we must cover all our body, cos all has beauty , not only the hair as is common here.

So in conclusion, Saudi used their cloth culture to obey what Allah said, and it doesn't mean we must use their culture too..The main thing is cover your body and be modest..
Remember God didn't create Textile/cloth, we human create it. So it shouldn't create war in Nigeria..
Remember your religion is as a result of your geographical location, no one is Superior, God created all of us, and He loves us all...PEACE

To bring a lasting peace to the crisis, the government should respect the no hijab Rule of Christian.

If they can not respect the no hijab rule they should seek alternative school.

The northern part of Nigeria who believe they are the real muslims, cos they sees other tribe muslims as a Christians that just the reality. The missionary schools (St Louis, St Thomas etc) in north don't permit the use of hijab and 90% of this missionary schools her patronized by the real hausas no complaints, so why this issue in Kwara State where the muslims and Christians should at least tolerate each other.

The schools ain't Christian schools but public schools, so why will they oppose the user of hijab?
They said the Christian bodies are already in court working on how to reclaim the schools. So they should wait till when they get the school back before they can tag those schools Christian and then ban the use of hijab.
Moreso, there are also many Islam themed schools that have also been taken by the govt and hijab is never made compulsory for all students just because those schools belong to the govt and not to the Muslim societies. The Muslims can also only make compulsory use of hijab for all students only after recovering the schools from the govt.
what's your take on this sir? but the reality on ground is that, govt owned muslim schools in Ilorin would not tolerate christian students to have fellowship [FCS] in their schools. Now, why should christian schools tolerate the use of hijab? I
