Nigerian leaders are so useless, so of all the problems plaguing Kwara state, using of hijab is what the governor can only implement. Seriously I don't know why we are mixed with this backward thinking people, religion should be practiced at home, if you don't like it, stay away from the schools, don't force people to accept what you believe. Useless governor

This issue will not vanish until Government do the right thing by handing over the schools to the rightful owners. There has been lots of evident partiality on the part of the government, Muslims being the biggest beneficiaries.

There has been allegations of Muslim government aided schools forcing headwears on Christians in those schools. Christian pupils in those schools were not allowed to conduct fellowships.

Secondly, teachers teaching IRK were being transferred to Christian government aided schools in their droves. Not only this, principal officials like Vice principals who are muslima get transferred to these Christian schools without equal reciprocity towards their Muslim counterpart.

I also hear from reliable sources that muslims were pushing for construction of mosques at the gate of every mission government aided schools.

These are all deliberate effort to take over these schools from the rightful owners with technicality.

FYI, I don't have issues with wearing hijabs in mission schools but there has to be fairness and justice to all. Government need to treat all religious equally if peace were to reign. You can't force your principles or practice on others. If you can't abide by their principles, withdraw your wards and take them to another school. You can't beat a child and expect the child not to cry.

There are many muslim govt aided school in kwara state that teach Islam in details. People should take their children their. Education should be separated from religion. Even in mission school, none should be forced to practice any religion except you have appended your signature on their policies before abmission. Enough said.

I don't even understand this....

<<<<The schools in question were private school right?...

<<<<And based on what I understand in running private organization, the organization has the right to enforce their own dress code/ uniforms independently right?

<<<< During admissions, I believe every parent signed an undertaking to abide by the vision, mission, rules and regulation guiding the school to make them (the school) achieve their objectives right?

<<<< So after their wards were being admitted, and all is said and done, why do they want to go against the regulation they signed for or did they sign the undertaking in duress..

Many Nigerian governors are bereft of wisdom. That's how Aregbesola messed up schools in Osun state. Govt should not dabble into religion. It is too explosive. Things like sponsorships to pilgrimage should end. Give the religious bodies the freedom to practice their religion within the confine of the law. Let them set up and run schools by themselves with some govt subventions that would be accounted for. Take a cue from Peter Obi govt, on how to run schools.

Government schools are for all, Christians or Muslims.

The best thing is for the government to ban any religious activity, Christianity or Islam.
Anyone who wants to practise any religion should do that under his/her father’s roof. After all, Nigeria is a secular nation the last time I checked
-Government schools is for ALL
-Christian schools for Christians and law abiding non-christians
-Muslim schools for Muslims and law abiding non-muslims

The 10 schools in question are Christian founded missionary schools!

The schools ain't Christian schools but public schools, so why will they oppose the user of hijab?
They said the Christian bodies are already in court working on how to reclaim the schools. So they should wait till when they get the school back before they can tag those schools Christian and then ban the use of hijab.
Moreso, there are also many Islam themed schools that have also been taken by the govt and hijab is never made compulsory for all students just because those schools belong to the govt and not to the Muslim societies. The Muslims can also only make compulsory use of hijab for all students only after recovering the schools from the govt.
Your post is one sided and pro Muslims.
You yourself know that no Muslim school in Kwara State ll tolerate Christian Religious Studies, Fellowships or usage or activities of anything Christian. So why should they come to Christian schools to try rubbish?
Was it govt that mandated use of hijab?
God punish all Muslims causing religious crisis.

I know why they like putting on hijab.
Its because, Mary the mother of Jesus didn't use it.
Infact, if you enter a catholic church, you will see her picture where her hair openly seen.

The Best solution for the church is for them to close down the school, or even demolish the school, since the purpose of the missionary is now defeated...Because Govt will always win, so far the school is controlled by the Govt..

More so, most of this churches now has Nursery and primary school of their own.
Its on church land , and govt don't have control on the land, but on school.
that way, they cede more ground to them I don't agree to closing down.. it's a cold war going on in kwara..they don't want Christians in kwara that's why they come up with all sorts policies to fustrate the small percentage of Christians there

May the Almighty God grant the State Government the wisdom of King Solomon on this matter.

Like I earlier said on a similar thread, constitutionally, muslim students have the right to wear hijab in a govt owned christian sch, but the reality on ground is that, govt owned muslim schools in Ilorin would not tolerate christian students to have fellowship [FCS] in their schools. Now, why should christian schools tolerate the use of hijab? If Kwara state govt wants to be fair in this situation, as they are enforcing the use of hijab in all gov't owned schools, they should as well pass the law that all christian student should be allowed to have fellowship in all gov't owned muslim schools. That's fairness and religious tolerance!

Please what is government owned christian school? How can government own christian schools when nigeria governments are suppose to be secular( no religion)

If Christian fellowship isn't allowed in the govt Muslim schools, I suppose Muslims don't hold any religious activities like praying, Jum'ah service there too, hence it won't be fair on the part of the Christians.
However, I won't take use of hijab as a form of religious activity.
