in fact during fasting, drink more water.. you're not breaking d fast..
and secondly
all these 9 days you've not mention when you prayed.. is it only sleep and starving that you did all through..
believe me if u had pray at interval of 3 or 6 hours.. you would have been lifted...

Op I don't doubt this last paragraph at all.

My brother I am here to encourage you in your walk with GOD. It's not surprising that many do not know the importance of fasting and prayer. Some think it is just a futile activity. Do not be discouraged by those who will castigate you or try to dampen the light you gained from your experience. GOD cannot be mocked. For those of you saying oga eat food and have asked questions where JESUS commanded his disciples to fast read the book of Mark chapter 9 verse 17 - 29. We are called soldiers of the cross for a reason folks. GOD bless you all.

jesusjnr2020:
After this fasting experience in the "wilderness", i found it impossible for me to even fast for 3 days dry. I could only do a 2 days dry for a long time until recently, even when I set out to do it for 3 days.

And this was under much suitable and convenient conditions, which showed that it was only God that had made it possible for me to be able to go for 8 full days or even 9 without taking food or water under those extreme conditions in the "wilderness.

Hence it wasn't by might nor by power but by the Spirit of God that I was able to accomplish that feat.

I also believe that it was also by the Spirit of God that those in the Bible days who were able to fast for forty days without water or food were able to do so.

God bless.

Modified:

I had to modify this comment because I thought it sufficed to say that after my fasting experience in the wilderness, I was able to achieve the greatest ever feat any man could achieve or has ever achieved on this Earth, which was to walk at the level of the Spirit where it was all about God, but alas, I was very wrong because many Christians could not even comprehend what that meant.

Some were even mocking that I had achieved absolutely nothing but just coming out naked and bony lol! Another even said that my fasting experience had no spiritual significance despite my clearly stating that spiritual achievement, hence I thought it was necessary that I took my time to expound on what walking at the level of the Spirit where it was all about God meant to God and also its benefits.

When I made to decision to begin walk at that level of the Spirit where it was all about God, which that fasting experience in the wilderness helped me achieve, I was just trying to love God, I believed He deserved that. But I didn't know that I was asking for serious trouble, because although God deserved such kind of love, God hardly get what He deserves despite having many who claim to be His servants, for they're not willing to give Him everything which He deserves but just whatever they liked.

So when God began to unleash blessings on me afterwards, I mean, it was quite scary. God had no reservations when He was blessing and rewarding me.

He had once said to me at the time, "I would show you, I would embarrass you" because of what I did for Him, so with all the blessings He began bombarding me with later on, He was just keeping true to His Word.

Wisdom

God blessed me with excess wisdom, many here in Nairaland have attested to that. It has been used to the confounding of several atheists here to the point that they couldn't gainsay or resist even as Jesus had said to His disciples. Luke 21:15.

It appeared still to have even assumed a different dimension last year when I was told that my time had come. There could be a connection between the rare degree of wisdom God has blessed me with and one name God calls me which is "Solomon".

Revelations

God blessed with an abundance of revelations, it made me write over thirty unpublished books with over thirty more pending. Even in Nairaland topics, God blessed me so much I can't simply keep up because I have hundreds of topics pending.

The greatest revelation one could ever receive from God, is the knowledge of His Word even that which was in the beginning which is Jesus. If the writings of all the apostles were anything to go by, only one of them was given that revelation even John the brother of James who was the only apostle that revealed that Jesus was the Word of God that was in the beginning with God. It wasn't a surprise that he was the closest to Jesus while He was here on Earth, and also the only apostle that proved impossible to kill!

That revelation of His Word, God also gave to me, and this made me to become one of the greatest threat to the works of Satan on planet Earth. Satan kept cofronting me afterwards even though I hadn't yet come out and was unknown to the world. He even offered me over a hundred million dollars not to preach that Word which was revealed to me. That made me understand the magnitude of threat that Word posed to him and his devices.

Protection

However in spite of the great threat I posed to Satan's works, he could do nothing to me, because God has blessed with the highest order of protection. The agents of Satan know me very well even though I haven't come out yet, being agents of the devil. But if any of them dare try to touch me, even if I don't pray for them to die as some do, that would be the end of the person, like someone who was struck down just one or two inches away from me on the street. Another "a chief of witches", a neighbor who died at about the same time I was fiercely attacked in the dream one particular day. Some others have been much wiser even though they knew the threat I posed, hence they didn't go that far regardless even they could see me, so as not to suffer a similar fate.

Last year I saw angel Michael descend from heaven saying "I'm here to protect you", and considering who angel Michael was, that shows that it's the highest level of protection I enjoy from God.

Power

God blessed me with power beyond measure, as He gave me the same measure of His Spirit that was on Jesus and His apostles. So every works Jesus did, i'd be able to do it and even greater works as He said, if the signs were anythings to go by, because the presence of God is so mighty upon me, I can hardly stand for long whenever I'm praying, and I could literally hear and feel the breeze of God breathing on me.

What's left is for me to unlock it fully by fasting as the Spirit of God revealed to me in December last year, and after I began to do that and fasted from last year into this year, a demon behind the depression and suicidal thoughts of a Nairalander got casted out in the month of January without me yet meeting her in person.

https://www.nairaland.com/6332975/how-fasting-helps-unlock-spiritual/2#98302344

That's only just a tip of the iceberg if what God revealed to me was anything to go by because another name He calls me is "miracle man".

Souls

Aside the souls that God has used me to bring several to salvation elsewhere, God has used me to bring several Nairalanders here back Him including an atheist here which many here know about after my first few months here in Nairaland.

Earlier this year, after a nairalander went through one of my threads she was literally crying out that night to God to forgive her for she had failed Him. She pmed me to let me know that my threads were so amazing, and asked me what she would do get herself back on track with God.

God was later thanking me for bringing her back to Him, but I was like, "you brought her back to Yourself, Lord!". But that's God for you, because He can only do what He's able to do if He has the kind of vessels that allow Him to showcase His ability, so whenever He has that, it means such a big deal to Him.

And those are just some of the instances of souls that God has used me to save here in Nairaland which I'm aware of.

But apart from saving souls, the extent to which the life of the Spirit i live and words I speak is able to inspire people to love God more and to have a deeper walk with Him, even though I was just trying to live a life that pleases Him is something beyond my comprehension. This is also true here in nairaland and some here could attest to this fact.

Not long ago, a friend of mine said to my greatest surprise, that he didn't even need to read the Bible to become so passionate for God and souls and to help the needy, but just looking at the example of my life was enough to inspire him to do so. This is someone God is using mightily to reach the unreached as shown in the collage below which he gave to me, for most if not all of those in the pictures apart from him were former pagans who became Christians because of his message.

Treasures Of The Earth

Last year, God told me He was going to give me the treasures of the Earth, and when that happens, those who really know me here would understand that I didn't get such by seeking it but His own Kingdom, righteousness and interest, so God added everything to me as He said in His Word. Matthew 6:33

So God is adding everything to me after i began to walk at the level of the Spirit where it was all about God, and I can remember once telling someone that God was giving me everything, and the response of the person who knew me very well was, "if someone gives God everything, God would also give the person everything" and that was so on point.

But it unfortunate that many Christians do not yet realize that truth, they give God crumbs yet expect God to give them quality or something better in return. It's only the kind of quality that you give to God that you should expect in return, hence Jesus said, "it's with the same measure you mete that it would be measure back to you." Matthew 4:8

The apostles and the Early church gave God everything, hence God gave them everything in return. The reason God has not given this church as much as He gave to the early church, is simply because they haven't given God close to how much the early church and the apostles gave to God.

If they had, God would have given them the same measure. The only reason God gave me the same measure as the apostles was because I gave Him the same measure they had given to God which is everything. Hence I'm one of those God's going to use to spearhead His final move on Earth.

God has not only blessed me beyond measure, but now God keeps telling me countless times that "you're a blessing!"

All these and many more which i wouldn't able to share now are the functions of the life of the Spirit I now lived where it's all about God. And that was what the fasting experience in the wilderness helped me to achieve, hence my sharing it here so it could inspire others to give God likewise.

God bless.

I thank God for you and the zeal you have towards the things of God.

I was reading through it hoping to see the divine encounter that you had in the "wilderness" but i didn't see none which made it seems like a wasted efforts. However, I applaud the boldness that you took.

One thing I must say here is that you don't really need to visit the mountain in order to experience God. Jesus himself abolished that practice when he met the Samaritan woman (John 4:20-26). In verse 21 he said, "Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father...."

That's why none of his disciples went into the wilderness inorder to seek the face of God. Also, going to Jerusalem for pilgrimage have no spiritual significance other than site visit. Those who embark on such journey are a mere tourist.

You can achieve that wilderness experience in the comfort of your home by simply locking yourself up in your room (don't come out), turn off your phone, tv, radio and anything that can give you information from the outside world. This is what I did in 2009 and in day 4 of my 7 days dry fasting, Jesus walked into my room, tap me in the shoulder and said to me "follow me" and then turn back and walked out. I had several other encounters between day 3 and 5 but that to me was the major one.

Try this system and you will glad you did.

This is a lot to unpack. Most likely make believe.

1. The human body of a typical person can only go 3-4 days without water. This can be extended from 8-21 days in IDEAL conditions. But this one said he was out in the wild, in the sun, where he would've lost more bodily fluids to sweat than the average person. With the weather conditions they described, getting to the 3 day mark and having strength to even move would be a miracle. This man said he stayed for 9!!!! days. Lol.

2. After the so called 9 days of dry fasting, this person was able to even have strength to walk around and apparently walked quite a distance before finally having to "roll" down the hill to his house. Like I said earlier, having this kind of strength would be impossible under ideal conditions, let alone living in the wilderness.

3. After getting back, they immediately ate rice and pure water. And didn't die. Lol. Have you read about the Jews who were starved for days in concentration camps? When WW2 ended, and some were liberated, some died because they ate a lot of food too soon. After not eating for that long, suddenly rushing your body with food could lead to a sharp electrolyte imbalance which causes death. People who have been starved for days are usually refed under supervision of medical professionals and sometimes even need to go for days before their bodies can even process liquid soup. This guy said he ate white rice and stew!!!

4. The mental capacity of someone in a dry fast greatly deteriorates by the time their body starts to feed on their muscle mass, and they begin experiencing hallucinations. OP was in a completely sound mental state when they decided to leave the 'wilderness' according to the story.

There are holes in this story and this only reeks of desperation to win converts. When you even have the mental courage to even consider entering a fasting competition with the person you believe to be your creator (attempting to do the same thing that Jesus supposedly did), it's no surprise that they'd most likely end up being a liar too. He's even calling himself Jesus jnr, maybe he thinks he's the second coming of Christ.

It's sad that the black man has decided to internalize a religion that many of the original creators have even abandoned. God loves you so much that he sent your slave masters who stole your land, killed your men, and raped your women, to teach you about who he is. He didn't deem you worthy enough to speak to directly and instead chose to communicate with white people, and ask them to pass on his message to you.

Very true bro, for man shall not live by bread alone, but every Word that comes out of the mouth of God.

Thanks and God bless.

Good one Of. I love reading, I was patient enough to read the whole things. Weldon. I did mine in the church but it was just three days, I also noticed that before 12 o'clock I was very hungry, then I know it is the works of the devil to make me to go back from that journey. I have a spare key of my church where I worshiped , so I chose the days that there will be no church activities. Here is my victory that gave me the grace to complete my chosen 3day. prayer.. As I stave my flesh I empowered my spirit man through prayer., thats what gave me success.

I watch carefully to see where you said you pray throughout the whole epistle, but I couldn't see any, am afraid maybe that's why you didn't complete the days.
Fasting without prayers is simply a hunger strike, you can even harmed yourself.

I love your passion for the things of God. Keep it up, God will surely see you through.

I think I really need to spend few days alone with God
I Have this blockage and some days I feel like I'm living with a demon I can't control even though all I wish for is to serve God and Know him deeply.
Like I want to pray and receive answers, speak to God,dream of him and have close encounters with him. may the grace never depart from you.
Many things do happen from fasting and prayer especially ones done far from civilization
according to stuffs I havr heard about prophet babalola, bishop oyedepo and pastor adeboye.

Dry fast without water should not be more than 3 days. Drink water at least if you are doing more than 3 days. Listen to Dr. MYLES MONROE on physical and spiritual benefits of fasting and biblical fasting principles.

I don't know what you are expecting to hear as reply from these Nairalanders....Spiritual journey can only be understand by only spirit filled children of God.

It is not for mere mortal minds.

The powers that lie behind dry fasting is so enormous but can only be grasp by those who earnestly seek it.

"For this can only be cast out by prayer and fasting"

If you had posted topics like 10 ways to success as a yahoo-yahoo in Nigeria, or How to obtain powers to win all political elections, or better still, 5 Ways to seduce and get any man of your dream.....the response would surprise you.

But all these things can only be achieve through POWERS.... not mere gun and wild chest powers..LOL

Power gives birth to physicality.... what your eyes see is always an illusion, for the powers behind brings the unseen into physical.

But don't ever be deceive by any other, because true and sustainable powers resides with Jesus alone.

For I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength - Phil 4:13

Well... maybe not exactly a wilderness as those depicted in the Bible, but it was the closest I could get to that at the time. It was a large uninhabited and uncultivated area (bush) somewhere in the outskirts of Abuja, where I intended to get that final push I needed to begin to live the kind of life I dreamed for God.

It was the kind of life the prophets and apostles and even Christ lived on Earth in those days, where they were dead to the things of this world but fully alive to the things of the Spirit and the Kingdom of God.

I already had the orientation they had and was truly willing, but my flesh was weak hence i lacked the strength, might or power to follow it through. I kept looking out of the window and wondering when I would be able to do likewise and finally begin to live the life of my dreams, as what I saw all around me seemed completely opposed to the kind of life I dearly craved.

The present day church didn't even help matters much as it was a far cry from the kind I knew and desired to part of, even that which I had seen in the acts of the apostles where it was all about God.

I'd already made some sacrificial decisions and forsaken everything for the sake of the Kingdom of God even as the disciples had done, to prove how determined I was, so I was already on the right course, but it was just that final boost to completely escape the gravitational field of the flesh I was yet lacking.

After waiting and hoping for a while without making any significant progress, i decided to take a drastic step, and embark on a forty day and forty nights fast without food or water in a bushy area not very far from where I lived.

I think the inspiration behind this course of action, were the examples of those who were said to have observed such a fast in the Bible, combined with the wilderness experience, which appeared to be the final preparation point for some before the commencement of their ministries. For instance, John the baptist and even Master Jesus, who were said to have been in the wilderness fasting for a while before the commencement of their ministries. Hence I decided to also give it a shot.

My prayer then to God was "Use Me Or I Die!" So if I made it out alive, it would mean that I had achieved the purpose of going there, which was to begin to live the life of my dreams where it was all about God and nothing else.

It doesn't matter how long you fast what matters most the heart which you are fasting with... Only believe , plan it In your mind it will come to past cool

Wether he did it right or wrong, the fact is, he has much love for God and zeal for Him and that surely has a reward. Stop and ask yourself why you are so angry about what he did, that will help you.

Yes, for sure there is a reward both spiritually and physically but none compared with doing it backed up by God's grace. I am not angry with him at all but my concern is that he could have died foolishly embarking on a 40-day dry fasting and praying, surely God would have accepted him into his loving hands but He would also have whispered in his ears, 'but son, why are you this foolish'? Wisdom is profitable to direct...Ecclesiastes 10:10 I have heard of tales of those who attempted this in the past and most died...why? Because it is a supernatural thing to do, the body is not designed to be without water for I think 5-6 days or thereabout...if you can't pray to heal cancer then don't attempt a 40-days dry fast. Simple!

That was actually why God put it in his heart to stop. If you read through, you will see where he stated that after the sting from the ant, he realized God wanted him to stop. For me, I see his step as great love and trust for God.

Talking about grace, fasting for 9days is also nothing but grace sir.
