This question has lingered amongst many believers... Some believe there will be a secret rapture, and some do not... However what does the word of God say about the question?

Firstly... What does rapture mean? Rapture has many synonyms i.e caught up, snatched away, removed from.. the Bible states, a day will come when the Lord Jesus will come to remove his saints (the believers in the Earth), so that they can be with him forevermore. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

However does the Bible say this event will be secret to believers alone?

What exactly is the “secret Rapture” teaching? It is the teaching that the Christian church will be secretly removed from the world (to meet Jesus in the sky, where they will stay for years), so that the unbelievers who are left behind will not know where all the Christians have gone.

These unbelievers will be left on the earth to endure seven years of tribulation, which will be initiated by the Antichrist, who will be revealed only after the Rapture has taken place. The prophecies of the seven seals, the seven trumpets, and the seven bowls (in the book of Revelation) will supposedly be fulfilled during the Tribulation.

What, then, does the Bible teach? At the time of Christ's ascension, the disciples were told that “this same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).
His ascension was visible and physical; his second coming will likewise be visible and physical.

Matthew 24:21 & 31 teaches that the coming of Christ will be “as the lightning” (vs. 27), that “all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet” (vss. 30-31).

In addition to describing this event as noisy and visible to all the inhabitants of the earth, this passage also warns us against belief in a secret coming of Christ: “Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ! or There! do not believe it” (vs. 23). And “if they say to you, Look, He is in the desert! do not go out; or Look, He is in the inner rooms! do not believe it” (vs. 26). There will be no question about what has happened after Christ has returned.
People left behind will not be dreaming up explanations they will be mourning because their judgment has come

Also going against the theory of a secret Rapture is 2 Thessalonians 2:1-10, which teaches that two events will occur prior to the coming of Christ: (1) “the falling away” (or “the rebellion” [niv], or, literally, “the apostasy”) and (2) the revelation of “the man of sin” (vs. 3), who is generally identified with “the Antichrist” (1 John 2:18).
Now whether we understand the Antichrist as nothing more than the spirit of Antichrist (1 John 4:3; cf. 2:22 and 2 John 7), or as a particular individual, one thing is clear: this revelation of the Antichrist will occur prior to Christ's coming, not afterwards.

The passage that is most frequently used to substantiate the idea of a secret Rapture, with unbelievers being left behind, is Luke 17:31�37, which speaks of “two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left” (vs. 34). This passage does indeed teach that unbelievers will be left behind, but comparing Scripture with Scripture, we must conclude that those left behind are left behind to suffer judgment.

Unbelievers will not be left behind to go through a seven-year Tribulation and have a second chance to accept the Lord during that time. This idea of a second chance is emphasized again and again in Left Behind, but it is foreign to Scripture.

You can never enter heaven with your blood... You only overcome with the blood of the lamb, and by the words of your testimony (Jesus Christ).

Rather, God created man to live on this earth forever.

Meaning, if Adam had not eaten from that tree there wouldn't have been death today.

Now that there is death, Christ resurrected so that the life that was lost from the beginning should be restored to them that believe. John 3:16

Christ has restored that life there is nothing you Christians need anymore, he has done it all.

The day died he said : IT IS FINISHED
So, there is nothing left to be done anymore.

Before I used to believe in a pre-tribulation rapture mainly because most pastors and Christian religious leaders preached it
But reading my Bible myself,made me realize certain truths..
The rapture will be AFTER or MID-tribulation
Matthew 24:21-22 talks about a great tribulation,never seen before in this world,and those days of tribulation would be shortened BECAUSE of the ELECT who are these elect,if not the saints
1 John 3:2 speaks of us seeing our Lord and Saviour ,and being like Him WHEN we see him..I believe this scripture rules out anything like a secret rapture the rapture will be a bold event,seen and noticed by ALL
Matthew 24: 27-31 further confirms that the rapture will be witnessed by everyone,and it goes further to say the Angels will gather up the Elect ,I'm guessing you know who these elect are
And one thing I always notice, whenever people give scriptures to back up their pre-tribulation or secret rapture doctrine,is they ALWAYS sideline the book of Revelation
Revelation 13:6-7 keyword in this scripture is 'The Saints' which saints will the beast war against?? If rapture will occur BEFORE the tribulation,which saints them will be left behind?
Revelation 7:14 it's talking about the saints that have come out of the "Great tribulation" ,not just any kind of tribulation,it must be referring to the tribulation Christ talked about in Matthew 24
Revelation 16 talks bout the 7 bowls of God's wrath being poured into the Earth ,at the end of every verse,you see "....and they repented not of their deeds" ,what does this mean? For those who speak of No repentance in a pre-tribulation scene ,this verse clearly contradicts that doctrine,the people on the Earth are supposed to repent when they see these things happening on the Earth ,we haven't even talked about the 2 Great Witnesses that'll be on the Earth at that time,we haven't talked about the millennium and the war that's waged AFTER the millennium....

Brethren read your scriptures,ask God our Father for understanding,do not try to interpret the word in your own way,most times it's better to read the word in a literal sense ,not seeking a new meaning for words, phrases or concepts you don't understand in the scripture

I will adjourn you to go back and read these scriptures again. There is background story behind these scriptures that was neglected before bible scholars proposed that they were talking about rapture and these are the basics of the story :

1. The Jews (Israelites) had the old covenant with God through their fore father Abraham which was to end at the coming of their Messiah(Jesus Christ),hence the signs of the coming and end of the world in Matthew 24:3
2. Daniel(a prophet of the old covenant) prophesied the coming of the Messiah when Israel was taken to exile at Babylon

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:

Which means, the disciples actually saw the abomination of desolation

3. Jesus Christ in Mathew 24 made reference to the prophecy of Daniel to his disciples pertaining to the coming of the Messiah the Jews were waiting for, that when they(the disciples) see all the signs like rumours of war, earthquakes, abomination of desolation, etc, they should know that they were signs of the end of the old covenant(what they meant by end of world)

All these things happened within that era or period Jesus Christ came for him to be crucified for the sins of mankind, about 2000 years ago.

Infact, Jesus specifically said

Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

The mistake we are making today is that, when we read these things in the bible we think they refer to events that will happen in our future.

The book of Revelation was a vision given to John the beloved to confirm Jesus Christ to the Jews that he is actually the Messiah.

The word RAPTURE doesn't appear in any part of the Bible, but if you mean the taking away of the Born again Christians who are going to rule with Jesus in heaven then the answer to your question is YES!
The angel who spoke to Jesus' disciples when he left the earth said something that most people don't notice, he said "This Jesus that's taken away from you will return in the same manner" Act 1:11
Jesus left the earth unannounced, after his death none believers never saw him again only his faithful disciples continue seeing him until his final departure! John 14:19
What confused most Bible readers is where God's word says "Look he is coming with the clouds and every eye will see him and those who pierced him: and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves beat themselves in grief because of him. YES Amen! Revelations 1:7

If you're not careful and intelligent you'll miss the colored part that says "those who pierced him" of course those who pierced Jesus are dead so they can't possibly see him so what does this mean?

Well it simply means all what Jesus prophesied that will take place when he returns to take his chosen ones home will be felt by all the inhabitants of the earth (including the Jews who don't believe Jesus till today) Yes everyone will feel the presence of Jesus as everything he said is happening one after the other!

Jesus has returned since 1914 and ever since then the earth has been experiencing all what he said @ Matthew 24, most of his chosen ones have been taken away from the earth, the great tribulation is about to begin but first the rest of his chosen ones who are still alive will complete their earthly mission! After the last one of them dies and is transformed immediately, the great tribulation will begin. This is surely not palatable but it's the truth!

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES are recording all these events, because we must relate everything to our brothers and friends like Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, John the baptist and a host of other faithful servants of God. We will surely hear how everything written happened from eye Witnesses just as we will also relate the experience of the great tribulation to them.
The person that will tell us what happened the moment Jesus was nailed to the stake is that thief, we will welcome him to Paradise and hear lots of things from him how Jesus died that faithful day, he was the only eye witness of that account that we can see the others became born again at Pentecost so they'll be with Jesus in heaven forever.

No, the rapture is not taught in the Bible.
This relatively recent doctrine was popularized by the Scofield Reference Bible.
The Bible does not teach that Christians will be raptured to heaven, but that there will be a place of protection on earth for some of God’s people.
Christ will not return secretly, but visibly.
When Christ returns, all saints—living and dead—will be resurrected to meet Him in the air and then descend to earth with Him.

Many Christians believe that when Jesus Christ returns to this earth, He will approach secretly to snatch away all believers and all children in a rapture.
The theory is that they will be taken to heaven where they will be protected during the Great Tribulation.

Though the Bible does clearly teach that there will be a Great Tribulation and that Jesus Christ will return, it does not teach there will be a secret rapture.
