What pains me is I will spend all day talking to my bump, no response but once DH touches it and talks, it feels like LO is jumping. It has happened too much to be a coincidence. Is he already picking favourites?

Team MAY mamas & papas, how are we?
How're the LOs? Very well and kicking. How's the waddling and agwagwa walking going? Some of us have 10weeks, 9 weeks, 8 weeks etc to go, that's to say we are getting closer to the finishing lane. May God make it easy for us.
Please answer roll call. Make we check on ourselves once in a while. Kindly drop gender so we can update the list.
Let's endeavor to take our routine drugs and rest well. Shopping nko? Done or almost done. If you've not started at all like me, let's meet in camera. Do have a nice week ahead.

I have not done shopping at all. Im just lazy. Walking is so difficult because of this pelvic pain. Im not eager to check baby gender as I seriously pray for a boy grin
I have 6_7weeks to go not 8 undecided. Im 32 weeks today. Im staying in lagos but they are pressuring me to come deliver in abeokuta because thats where my parents in law live. So I'm confused. Will it be easy to give birth in lagos then travel down to abeokuta the 2nd or 3rd day? Because thats where the naming will take place inshallah or should I kuku go to abeokuta when I'm 37 weeks to go give birth there? I'm confused but my hubby is ok with any decision I make so its left to me

Mama, if staying with them will be comfortable then I think you can travel there before giving birth. I don't like the idea of traveling with a newborn and even the mother after the stress of delivery...the decision is yours though.
Safe delivery

chocome:
Early labor: the days and hours before labor starts

You lose your mucous plug and your vaginal discharge changes color and consistency
You may also notice the loss of your mucous plug — the cork sealing off your uterus from the outside world. It can come out in one large piece (it looks similar to the mucus in your nose) or lots of little ones, though you may not get a glimpse of it at all and some women don't lose it before delivery.

In the last days before labor, you'll likely see increased and/or thickened vaginal discharge. This thickened, pinkish discharge is called bloody show and is a good indication that labor is imminent.

But without contractions or dilation of 3 to 4 centimeters, labor could still be a few days away.

You feel stronger, more frequent contractions
Contractions are an early sign of active labor — except when they aren’t. You can experience Braxton Hicks contractions (or "practice contractions"wink for weeks and even months before delivery.
You’ll feel their pinch as the muscles in your uterus tighten in preparation for their big moment: pushing that baby out.

How can you tell the difference between real and false labor contractions? Look for these signs of real labor:

If you’re active, real contractions get stronger instead of easing up the way Braxton Hicks contractions do.
If you change positions, labor contractions don’t go away but Braxton Hicks often do.
Real contractions progress, becoming more frequent and more painful as time goes on, often falling into a regular pattern. Each one won't necessarily be more painful or longer than the one before it, but the intensity tends to build over time as labor progresses. Frequency doesn't always increase in a regular pattern, either, but it does gradually increase. Braxton Hicks contractions come and go without getting more intense over time.
Early real labor contractions could feel like strong menstrual cramps, stomach upset or lower abdominal pressure. Pain could be in the lower abdomen or both there and the lower back, and it could radiate down into the legs. The location of the pain isn't as reliable an indicator of true vs. practice contractions, though, because Braxton Hicks contractions can also be felt in all those places.

Your water breaks
While movies would have you think you’ll learn you’re in labor only when your water breaks (in the middle of a romantic dinner date at a busy restaurant, of course), that’s a very unlikely scenario.

Your water breaking is actually one of the final signs of labor most women experience — and it happens in only around 15 percent of births or fewer. So don’t count on it as a telltale, surefire sign of labor.

Still feel like you won’t know when to announce “It’s time!” and get ready to meet your baby? Try not to stress about it. You’ll be seeing your doctor or midwife frequently now, and he or she will help you spot all the important clues.
Thank you mama. June mamas are blessed to have you. Since i took my TT injection have been full and my hand has been paining me too

Mama... I'll put you under team surprise o, may God grant your heart desires. For the delivery, have you made enquiries about hospitals that can likely be used? If that's sorted out and you are quite comfortable with your in laws then Bismillah! Traveling with a new born isn't easy plus your own "ara tutu". I did during my first & by the time we came back after the naming....it felt like I just put to bed I was in pains.

Good morning mamas and Happy international Women's day to us all even if it was celebrated yesterday.

*6 tips for relief of Back pain in Pregnancy* .

Back pain during pregnancy isn't surprising, but it still deserves attention.
Consider six ways to relieve back pain during pregnancy — from good posture and physical activity to complementary therapies.

Back pain during pregnancy is a common complaint — and it's no wonder.
You're gaining weight, your center of gravity changes, and your hormones are relaxing the ligaments in the joints of your pelvis.
Often, however, you can prevent or ease back pain during pregnancy.

1. *Practice good posture*
As your baby grows, your center of gravity shifts forward.
To avoid falling forward, you might compensate by leaning back — which can strain the muscles in your lower back and contribute to back pain during pregnancy.
Keep these principles of good posture in mind:

Stand up straight and tall.
Hold your chest high.
Keep your shoulders back and relaxed.
Don't lock your knees.
When you stand, use a comfortably wide stance for the best support.
If you must stand for long periods of time, rest one foot on a low step stool — and take time for frequent breaks.

Good posture also means sitting with care.
Choose a chair that supports your back, or place a small pillow behind your lower back.

*2. Get the right gear*
Wear low-heeled — if possible flat that grips — shoes with good arch support.
Avoid high heels, which can further shift your balance forward and cause you to fall.

*3. Lift properly*
When lifting a small object, squat down and lift with your legs. Don't bend at the waist or lift with your back. It's also important to know your limits.
Ask for help if you need it.

*4. Sleep on your side*
Sleep on your side, not your back. Keep one or both knees bent.
Consider using pregnancy or support pillows between your bent knees, under your abdomen and behind your back.

5. *Include physical activity in your daily routine*
Regular physical activity can keep your back strong and might relieve back pain during pregnancy.
With your health care provider's OK, try gentle activities — such as walking or water exercise..swimming
A physical therapist also can show you stretches and exercises that might help.

You might also stretch your lower back.
Rest on your hands and knees with your head in line with your back.
Pull in your stomach, rounding your back slightly. Hold for several seconds, then relax your stomach and back — keeping your back as flat as possible.

6.
Know when to consult your health care provider
If you have severe back pain during pregnancy or back pain that lasts more than two weeks, talk to your health care provider. He or she might recommend medication such as acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or other treatments.

Keep in mind that back pain during pregnancy might be a sign of preterm labor or a urinary tract infection.
If you have back pain during pregnancy that's accompanied by vaginal bleeding, fever or burning during urination, contact your health care provider right away.
