Please I just got a mail from West Virginia University that I have been placed on waiting list for admission into their MFA Studio Art program for Fall 2021. Please I don't know if anyone has experienced this or in this situation before? Predstan:
You sound deluded and I hope you learn quickly that God will only certify what you have put in your own hard work... Unusual email doesn’t pop up anywhere if you don’t qualify for Scholarships. This is not Nigeria where they grant scholarships or positions to the most undeserving people. You have to do your own part before you call on God... Lastly, you need to do more research since your prospective course of study is unusual amongst international Students. No one can recommend a good school for you because many don’t even know about studying this course in the USA. Do not leave the research for God, hit the internet, research more about it. Btw, I am currently a graduate student at MTSU and I asked a colleague about music department. It is very difficult to find a single international student in that department. The best way to go is to send an email to the department and you may apply through audition. see link below: https://www.mtsu.edu/music/musicadmissions.php |

Hi House.
I’m trying to help my kid bro process undergraduate admission. Since they require his high school transcript, I’m a bit confused if he needs to send his WAEC transcript, or his High school transcript from SS1-3 or he needs both to WES for his transcript evaluation. Thank you |

Thank you I feel it's his High school transcripts that they are requesting for. Most schools ask for an evaluated transcript including your final result (I.eWAEC result). while some universities especially ivy leagues and tier 1 schools will ask for your High school transcripts from Jss3 through SS3 together with you school report and Final report. (I.e your Waec result since there's no 3rd term result) How about you message them to confirm which one they require? Is he applying via the common app? |

House Pls help me review..... Thanks Your interview will be 3 minutes or less. You seem to be preparing for a 30-minute conversation. Make it brief. No, you didn't choose Troy because of those characteristics, you chose them because they were the only school to offer you admission. Stating that you were denied admission to the other schools because they were competitive suggests Troy isn't a competitive school. I wouldn't say that at all. Why not just say "you are not sure even though you met all the requirements". ...lastly, please consider going with your child who is barely 3 years old and needs his/her mother. Any VO who denies you on the basis of a child should not be a VO. 15 Likes |

Please, I will like to ask what advise should be given to a family of five (5) where the wife just got a PhD admission in the USA and will like to go with the entire family especially because of the number of years for the program, and because of the very tight work schedule of the spouse, taking proper care of the children would be a bit challenging for him for the number of years the wife wont be available.(Note: both mother-in-laws are aged).
1. You need to show enough funding for you and all your kids - their school fees, health insurance, etc. Your international students office can advise more on this. 2. You'd also have to be convincing at your interview that taking care of 3 or 4 kids wouldn't negatively impact your PhD studies (which are usually very demanding). Of course, proving home ties might not be so easy since you plan on going with all your kids. Let's see what other experienced folks here think. All the best anyways. |

Please expert in the house help me with the following question.
1.Can I book a date for interview before paying for my SEVIS fee, I don't have the money for the fee now until April.
2. Can I apply for visa with school A, and later Edit the school to B, before the interview.
The reason Is that I av gotten my form1-20 from Troy, CSU,Findlay but just got admission with Buffalo today and it might take time before they issue me form 1-20.and it is the school I want to go.
I need to apply to get dates, with what I at hand.
Please I need answer to question 1 &2.
Thanks |

Thanks to your first question you can, after paying your MRV fee you can book appointment even without paying sevis fee but make sure you pay your sevis fee 3 days prior to your visa interview for your second question you can only apply for F1 student visa with just only one school, so I am sure if you already booked a date with Troy, you wouldn't be able to edit it again except you buy another MRV fee. so it better you check which would be best for you. 3 Likes |

That's a lot. It would be difficult to convince a VO that you have the funds to support 5 children alone while working on a PhD program. Also how do you cover health insurance, living expenses, child care? If your husband is rich... you might get lucky. |

you should please know that once you have booked an appointment already in the CGI website, you can't change the sevis number and the school name again except if your appointment is canceled by them their self or you pay another MRV fee. you can only update some of your details there such as update your names, ds-160 number and so on. 3 Likes |

I get your point, is the reason why the spouse also wants to follow in order to provide support for the wife while her program is ongoing. It is very doable. I would advise that your husband not apply for an F2 visa. You and your kids can go first and he can come to visit on a B1/B2 visa. The VO will want to know that you have a base back home and there is less concern about the ability to take care of the kids financially since your husband is working here and providing support. |
