Evergeen22: Yes, it could bounce back if IRCC doesnt collect the payment within a specific time frame. Suprised IRCC didn't use the same authorisation to claim the funds again, if it bounced the first time. Most importantly, I'm glad you've been able to make the payment. Now you pray, looks like the decision on your application is about to be made, it shouldn't take too long now. Wishing you all the best 1 Like |

Biddy1: Be proactive by withdrawing your current application. I can tell you for free that your agent had mistakenly applied for a visitor's visa for you instead of a study permit. Please be advised that student visiting letter doesn't not exist in the regulations and manuals of IRCC. You can seek for the withdrawal of your application through the IRCC WEBFORM - NAIROBI IRCC are presently processing study permit applications and essential work permit applications. Visitor's applications are not being prioritised at the moment due to the global pandemic. As such, withdrawal is the best option and reapplying for a study permit. It will end in praise 1 Like |

Olafunds200: Honestly, the ball is in your court and it's your personal decision to make. I will encourage you to make it based on your long term plans for your family. You need to consider factors such as your length of study and ofcouse overall tuition in Canada and UK. Also, if you are working towards PR in Canada/ILR in UK, research thoroughly before deciding. The route to PR in Canada is faster than the route to ILR in the UK. After your studies, you will be issued with a 2yrs Post study work permit in the UK, you still need to apply to switch to another category in other to start working towards ILR. Depends on how much patience you have. Look at the overall picture, the funds involved and the route to permanent residency if you wish. Have you paid any deposit to the school in Canada, will they refund you if you withdraw. If you have the funds and don't want to put your eggs in one basket, your husband could apply to UK or let him defer to allow you get a decision. It must be emotionally exhausting to be waiting since October, but know that you are not alone, there are other October applicants on this platform still awaiting decision too. Hopefully it won't be long, keep being positive. Personally, I would exhaust Canadian study permit first before trying the UK, except studying is your only plan for your family, in which case I will say choose UK as it's a less exhausting process compared to Canada. I hope I have given you factors to consider and not raised more questions than I have answered. I wish you all the best. 8 Likes |

Hello everyone... Please I sent my passport via DHL to VFS Abuja today and one the dhl tracking portal it shows that it has been received at the VFS office since 11am but I haven’t gotten any mail from VFS office. Should I be worried or what do you think could be the problem? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Frankrobbn1: 6:58pm On Mar 10, 2021 |
Jonaholorun: You can apply with your spouse and show adequate proof of funds for your stay in Canada. However, its not logical to apply with your mother at this time. This will give the visa officer the impression that you're using study permit as a means of relocation rather than educational advancement thus leading to rejection. It will end in praise 2 Likes |

Teeprecious: I believe you do another affidavit that you found the missing passport. And you can continue using it until the old one is ready. On another thought, thread carefully because your passport could have been cancelled, you may need to notify them at the immigration office to know the position. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Frankrobbn1: 9:06pm On Mar 10, 2021 |
Officialksolo: Study Permit is also regarded as a temporary resident visa same with work permit and visitor's applications. Given that you had wrongly applied for a visitor's visa instead of a study permit application. I would highly recommend that you request for the withdrawal of your application. IRCC are presently not processing or prioritising visitor's visa and a decison may not be reached on your file due to these factual reasons. I hope this information satisfies your inquiry. It will end in praise |

On this, there are some tips on IRCC page. If I remember you might need to crop out excess paper space and change to black and white if coloured. Submit like that. Guess they use magnifying glass (lol)... In the past on this thread, someone submitted blurred documents too and she was approved. Another removed some pages from the statement, can’t remember if she got approved. Do what I mentioned, crop, change to black and white. Submit like that with the other documents then send just the statement again with explanation stating the blur through webform. I hope this helps. I wish you all the best. RxOtunba: 2 Likes |
