God bless you all my people in Uk. Please I want to ask, if I want to invite my mother in law for omugwo, is she allowed to stay through the six months? What is the maximum period one can stay without violating any rule?

God bless you Ma. So I should write in the invitation letter that she would be staying 5 months?

Please is it advisable to take the job of an HCA in order to relocate abroad...

fatima04:

Yes, they do place most International nurses on Band 3 which is equivalent to HCA until they pass the OSCE exam and get to Band 5. It's not so bad because the employers pay for the training, exam etc al. Some even pay IELTS, there registration and flight.

That aside, I still feel nurses are not well compensated in this country

pls dnt write 5 months stay in your invitation letter, worse still if it is the 1st time she is applying for a UK visit visa. U will ruin her chances. Put a lesser duration for the visa application. When u get the visa, u can change ur plans

Then she stays longer and be questioned in the next application??

I always make my intention clear on application form and MIL sometimes spends 6 months on the dot. (maybe 2 or 3 days less cheesy )

Vooom:
Good people of boris kingdom.
My 9ja passport is expiring in Sept
When is it reasonable for me to apply for renewal?
High commission for London still de closed?
Any advise on renewal in this country help a broda

They're still closed except for emergency visas (appointment only)

The earlier the better but difficult to predict anything for now as there's been a backlog since the first lockdown...

Thank you Ma, so I can put 2 weeks in the letter and she stays more? I hope they won't find out?

About the staying more? They will know how long she stayed.. but hey as long as she doesnt stay more than the validity of the visa which is 6 months, I do not see the crime

On Tier 2 at the time of my application. Really doesn't cost anything to be honest in one's application. smiley

Depends on who the case worker is. If you put 5 months the way some of them think, who habits someone for 5 months all expenses paid, they might think your mil is going to work so will refuse the visa unless you can prove that she has a lot of money or some income.

bless you... did you see where I said, my opinion? Why so hard for you to understand that this is my opinion and strictly mine. In this world, would not cost to leave people be...
I do not have to tow along YOUR line of thought... stop trying to force me.. thank you!

Ok bourne this one, I won’t agree with you. I think this is the only lie that I can agree with, provided the MIL won’t spend more than 6 months here.

The African culture is different from the brits because some people need mums around when they have a child- the brits don’t understand this, so put two weeks down but let her accidentally stay 4-5 months

I understand this lie.

I disagree.......

My MIL visited so many times.....

She did not submit any bank statement, land documentations or any form of financial documents......

All documents came from both of us, and it was implicitly stated in the invitation letter that, all her expenses, accommodation and feeding would be bourne (pun intended), by us.... grin

On all occasions, she stayed for 5 months +..........

Was surprised too when it happened, someone who travels every other year the last couple of years, US, dubai, Israel and had never breached immigration rules.

They consider that work because you can hire someone to come and support the new mother and you are depriving that person of work even if you are not paying your mum. Don't ever give them the impression that the mum is coming to support

I think it's the weight of documentations one submits, that either swings or dumps it..........

ITV know what they were doing when they brought in that Rottweiler and bully to increase ratings. He has crossed so many lines and very aggressive when interviewing people. He thinks he is in the piers Morgan show. Good riddance to him. Everything Alex said was true, just because he didn’t get an invite to the wedding, he hounded the poor woman every chance he got.
