The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has received in audience the National Council of Traditional Rulers at the State House in Abuja on Thursday.

This was disclosed by presidential aide, Buhari Sallau, who also shared photos from the meeting.

“President @MBuhari receives in audience National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria in State House on 11th Mar 2021,” Sallau captioned the photos on Twitter.

Present at the meeting is the Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar III; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and other prominent monarchs.

He does not what he's saying ni. I am not from Edo, but I took time to listen to an elderly man in Urhonigbe during my service year then;

He told some interesting things about appointment of king in Edo. That before the king dies everyone would av known the next king. That the next king would av been sent on training about Benin when he attained certain age.

That are always positioning the sultan first... Trying hard to make it look like he is the premier traditional stool in Nigeria, which is nothing but a fat lie. Both the Oni and the Obi as traditional institutions have been there before the Hausas surrendered to these folks from Futaa jallon few years ago.. Trying to make it look like the overdressed sultan is the highest "traditional deity" in Nigeria is not just preposterous, it amounts to a great disservice to history..
