If the rental charges are reasonable you can give the opportunity a try, in the end it will be an added experience to your portfolio of experience.

Good luck
Thank you sir

Okay for those of you who thinks a good car will earn you the rating let me explain to you with this experience the ways riders think b4 carrying out rating.

Now, I brought a girl from island to Berger and was looking for a trip out. Got one inside shangisha, and rider called and told her I was coming. Getting to the street off her street the roads were very bad it will be very difficult for me to make a turn out after picking her up. So I slid the arrive button and then she called.

R: you're not even here and you arrived.
Me: I was about calling you to kindly walk to the junction( less than 50m on Gmap) because it will be difficult for me to turn out.
R: i can't walk, if you can't drive here and pick me up pls cancel.
Me: okay fine, request another ride, bye.

She cancelled and requested again it kept coming to me, more than 5x.

Got another request and drove to pickup.
R: where are you in going to ogba,
Me: I'm opposite GTB.
R: ok pls wait there im coming.
10min later she wad no where to be found.
Me: rang her, I still cant c u or arent you going on the trip again.
R: I'm inside a car like 2cars infront of you on the traffic but I cant walk so I want to turn then meet u u0 and enter just wait where you are I'm coming.
After like 15min I canceled. That was when I saw the stupid smallie trying to open my door( but door was locked).
Me: hello can I help you?
R: open na I ordered you.
Me: I already canceled maybe you'll have to re-order. (na lie o me already want to do it offline, can't afford 1star).
Got to her destination her street is very bad and a closed too with residence parked on one side of the strt.
Me: I dont think I can drive in else I'll be hard for me to coming out this plc and it night I won't see properly to make a turn or a reverse..
So I did a reverse to drop her off (less than 100m walk, No:8 on the street while we were just at the beginning of the str) I couldn't reverse well.
Me: sorry I cant. I'm sorry please.

R: you're lucky it wasn't online else I would have rated you 1star and they would have called me to explained why I rated you 1 star if any thing happened and I would have told them you didn't drop me at my destination.

Me: Its okay, good night.

So you see why drivers rating drop evenn without any issue with the ride? When was the last time bolt called you to explain y u rated a rider 1 star?

Can anyone else confirm this? Does bolt actually call riders when they rate you one star? I'm really surprised hearing this.

See another way bolt manipulates rating system against drivers.

Watch out for something, if you want to rate a rider, it's set to 5 stars already. So there are times when you plan to give a rider one or two stars but you just forget and rate them 5 stars because the thing is preset to 5 stars.

Now for a rider to rate you 5 stars, the rider has to consciously select 5 stars. What this means is, while you can mistakenly rate a rider 5 stars, it's not the same with them.

Is there anything impossible for bolt to do? They're only interested in their Commission and riders are the 9nly way this can happen while drivers sill always beg to drive their riders. So believe or or not even if it has to take them visiting their rider who they know is sick Bolt I'm sure will do it.

Uber have called me countless time but Bolt lie lie, they'd rather called the rider.

But bad car wasn't the only thing he mentioned, like he said how you deal with riders also matter.
In fact that should be the number one thing to take seriously, I have seen guys that uses bad cars that ordinarily they would have been yanked off the platform but how they kept going remains a mystery.
I have a friend that anytime I see him the first question that will pop out of my mouth is how do even cope with riders with this your car? Don't they rate you low or won't they block you?
grin
Approach is the key, in these your cases don't you think you could have done better or handle it better?

Correct. To add to that when the trip goes perfectly smooth and nothing happens; no quarrel, no incidence, no disagreement, no smell, no traffic etc most riders don't rate. But when there is one small coma, they are fast to rate u down.
So in actual fact 90% of unrated trips are 5star trips and should be recognised as such by Bolt/Uber.

5% are riders that think 0star is worse than 1star grin I like these type of Riders, when u have shown them the worst side of u and u know they will give u 1star only for them to say 'I will not give u even half star, na zero star u go collect' ... grin grin grin the thing they sweet me like jackpot.

Remaining 5% is for Riders that may rate other stars between 2-4 if they must rate u.

But majority of unrated trips would be 5stars. Why force drivers to rate riders but can't do same with riders?

As for your question, I think it's actually a good thing because if they force riders to rate drivers, some of them who don't want to rate will just give you "gba je n simi" 3 or 4 stars.

Most people do not do their research properly before entering any business and that is why they almost always fail. Its been 5 months and over 2000 trips (I think) on bolt and I have never been blocked except one time they restricted my account to card trips.

And even that one time I saw it coming but I kept hoping I'll get a card trip to offset them

Everything anyone needs to survive ehailing is right here on this thread.

I remember typing "blocked rating bolt", "blocked taxify", "activity score" and many others into nairalands search box to have a rough idea what obtains on bolt before I started driving.

By the time I took my first trip , I already had like 60% experience. The remaining 40 I learnt and still learning on the job grin

It's a very sad story.
Drivers should tell their partners to insure their cars comprehensively for a situation as this.
It might take months after thorough investigation by the insurance company to pay your claim but they will definitely pay.
I am sure if he hadn't contest with them and release the key when the robbers demanded it, he would be alive today.

As per drivers ratings, no one knows how far riders can go to rate u low, even if there's another rate worst more than 1 star, riders will use it on we drivers.
Ok I picked a lady around surulere, on our way going my phone keep ringing so I later asked for her permission if I can pick d call and she said yes, she nw asked me if riders doesn't allow drivers to pick calls, I said yes nw especially all this island girls, she nw said some drivers worst o, that they'll keep making long calls while driving Nd riders dare not talk but after d end of d trip they'll give d driver 1star with very bad review.
She also said she first look at my face Wen I reach d PU that I wasn't smiling and that already give a bad impression already before she later knows I'm nice and jovial...
She gisted me about how she show a driver pepper while driving her to her house and d driver said he can't go further cos d road in their area is very bad and his his car is low, she said she told d driver that's not her fault, all drivers knows Nigeria roads are bad, that he shld hv raise his car before he join d platform... After alot of dragging The driver sha manage to go front a little to like 4 houses before her house and because of this she rate d driver so low, reported him, send his num to her friends to report him as well... U can imagine how far she went to block the driver frm his career. I just pity the man, and riders that do this d most are ladies btw 16-25 years (my observation). What I'm saying in essence is that u can't please a rider 100%, jst do ur best and leave the rest.

Don't run the risk of buying used cars/Toks with costly hidden problems

Know what you're buying before it's too late.

Avoid that mistake before you buy!

Major accident damage? Flood damage? Odometer Fraud? Avoid making a potentially costly mistake when buying a used/tokunbo car. Call/Sms/Whatsapp (vin/chassis) to +234 - 806 -036 - 5068 and minimize your risk.

99% of things in Nigeria is a watered quality so getting good quality becomes a Herculean task.

Guy there's a difference between production of finished products and exploration of raw materials...in the case of crude oil, we r just drilling out what's under the ground. Even at that, the process used here to drill have been long abandoned in developed countries. Do u know how many oil fields and drilling platforms are in Nigeria apart from the most recent Egina FPSO?
No let make we digress, d engine oil made for Nigeria is not in anywhere close to the global standard and that's the fact. Oya go and ask Mobil customer care why the Mobil1 sold in America is different from Mobil1 sold in Nigeria grin

The mobile 1 sold in Nigeria is road side oil in Europe.
How come u will do oil change to tokunbo car in Nigeria then immediately it start shorting oil.
