LMAO! In order to save face from the huge disgrace, you had to commit logical fallacies such as: (1) the red herring fallacy, and (2) the straw man fallacy. In other words, when you realized that my argument was too true for you to engage (i.e. impossible for you to oppose); you simply made-up an entirely fresh claim (which I never made or even suggested) and then falsely attributed such to me. You then proceeded to attack that same fresh claim (which was entirely the product of your own imagination) in order to create for yourself the illusion of responding to me. Lol. Coronabirus: The summary of your reply to my comment is as follows: Me: Dan Fodio established your ‘greatest monarchy’ (i.e. The Sokoto Sultanate) barely 200 years ago. Still Me: Whereas, Ife people were spreading monarchy and fluorescence across the Guinea Forest since over a millennium ago. You: Dan Fodio didn’t bring religion to the North. Me: Lol! How is this in any way supposed to be a response to my comments?? Just how? ——————————— NB: (1) @Rugaria had commented that the Sultan’s stool doesn’t deserve to be what seems to him (@Rugaria) to be an attempt by the FG to unfairly place the Sultanate above the Ooni-ship. (2) You objected to his comment by affirming the absolute contrary. You even went farther beyond bound to say that we (Yorubas as well as others in the south) didn’t wear clothes until just before the last century — i.e. 200 odd-years ago. (3) I debunked and trashed each of your silly false and insanely ignorant tribalistic remarks. I debunked them with facts and figures by demonstrating that: (i) The Sokoto Sultante (about which this discussion is) was indeed established by Dan Fodio, and it is indeed very, very young and junior as @Rugaria had originally hinted. (ii) The Yorubas (the Ifes for example) have had a great and grand monarchy as well as an unmatched fluorescence for several centuries before your Sokoto Sultanate was first conceptualized by Dan Fodio. Etinosa1234:For the sake of this photoshoot (attached) and other National issues, the Ooni (not the Alaafin) is the ‘Yoruba’ representative. And the attached sitting position is based, obviously, on the leadership and membership of the NCTRN. The Ooni and the Sultan are the permanent leaders of the council, while the Benin king among others are mere floor members of the council. I hope I helped to satisfy your curiosity. TAO11:All this formalities won't give true account of reality. Hundreds years before Danfodio there were bigger empires like Zaria were Queen Amina was the monarch, Kano kingdom, Hadejia, Daura, Katsina, Bauchi, Gombe, Kebbi , Zamfara, Gwari , Jukun, Ilorin , Nupe, Yauri, Adamawa and above all El Kanemi empire which was never matched by Sokoto caliphate. The intellectual & philosophical difference Danfodio made was by merging all the kingdoms under him that was what made Sokoto caliphate stronger & well known. The history of the whole Northern kingdoms can be traced back through "BAYAJIDDA" though before him there was the same structure & system but he gave birth to children that ruled all Northern kingdoms not recent Danfodio. |

Coronabirus:You seem to be a monumental fraud; or you’re just so ashamed to want to hide your moronic track; or both. (1) @Rugaria noted that Sokoto is a baby kingdom in comparison to Ife et al. (2) You objected and replied with loads of irrelevant dog-shit. (3) I debunked your crap and put you in your dirty tiny little place. (4) You returned jumping from from one distraction (i.e. religion) to another distraction (i.e. kingdoms that were not the topic of discussion). You seem desperate to hide your disgrace. Don’t you? Your plight is understandable. The incontrovertible fact, however, remains as follows: @Rugaria is correct as per his statement that the Sokoto sultanate is a baby kingdom in comparison to Ife for example. The Sokoto sultanate was founded by Uthman Dan Fodio barely 200 years ago. The sacred Kingdom of Ife, on the other hand, had being around for more than a millennium — with its evident fluorescence all over the Guinea Forest of West Africa. ———————— Now regarding the fresh topic which you’ve tried hard to bring up; those other Hausa kingdoms you brought up are still incomparable to the ancient kingdom of Ife. For example, Zaria (which you desperately brought up) which appears to follow Sokoto in grandeur was created also very recently in the 1800s. Lastly, Ilorin was not even a kingdom as at the time it was pledged by its indigenous people (Yorubas) to Islamic Sokoto. Neither is Ilorin an Hausa-Fulani city even presently. It was an indigenous Yoruba city; and is now a Yoruba city with Hausa-Fulani elements who have mixed over the centuries. As at the time when its indigenous (Yoruba) people embraced the Islamic religion in the early 1800s, it was not even a kingdom yet. It was a smaller indigenous Oyo province (within the Oyo homeland) which have had only four Baales as at the time of Afonja. Yes, Ilorin had Baales (provincial chiefs) and not Obas (king) as at the time it embraced the Islamic religion. The Baales of Ilorin were Laderin (the founder of Ilorin and its first Baale), followed by his son, Fasin (the second Baale), followed by Fasin’s son, Alagbin (the third Baale), and then followed by Alagbin’s son, Afonja. Afonja doubled, during his time, as the Baale of Ilorin as well as the Are-Ona-Kakanfo of the Oyo Empire. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

TAO11:Why still talking abt Sokoto caliphate. Before the coming of whites all Hausa kingdoms were independent just like a nation. The main point I made to that ethno-religious bigot u're backing is to make him know the position of Sultan. Kanem Borno empire was existing 700yrs back, Sokoto caliphate was formed after amalgamation of Northern kingdoms which gave birth to another direction for Northern kingdoms. Now, all Islamic monarchs agree to have a single & acceptable head of traditional institutions (emirate) under Sokoto caliphate. The Illorin you're talking abt had connection with BAYAJIDDA children long before Danfodio's father found his way to Nigeria, so it's not issue of tribe and nevertheless Islam has more effect, stronger bind than tribe in a sane manner. Believe me or not those naked, illiterates monarchs u quoted were never recognised by whites because of their way of life. Sultan command more respect, has more followers than any other individual in Nigeria. |
Re: Buhari Meets Ooni, Sultan, Other Monarchs In Aso Villa by TAO11(f): 5:46am On Mar 13, 2021 |
Coronabirus:The invincible fact which you now seem to have covertly admitted is that: The Sokoto caliphate, in comparison to Ife, is a baby monarchy conceived by Sheikh Uthman Dan Fodio 200 odd-years ago. In sum then, the stool of the Ooni of Ife is more antique and thus more prestigious in comparison to the stool of the Sultan of Sokoto. In fact, the present Sultan of Sokoto (Amir Muhammad S. Abubakar) appears to have publicly admitted this obvious fact sometimes recently. A corroboration of the foregoing may be seen in a video in which the present Ooni citied the Sultan’s own words to this very effect. Yes, the Sultan was present there. In sum then, @Rugaria ‘s remark (on the Sultan’s lowly stool in comparison to the Ooni’s stool) is in fact 100% accurate. ———————— Moving on now to your calculated distractions: Firstly, Kanem-Bornu has nothing to do with Hausa or Fulani or Hausa-Fulani groups. Kanem-Bornu is a ‘merged-polity’ of two independent groups — none of which relates to your people. Moreover, Kanem kingdom or Bornu kingdom (or Kane-Bornu kingdom) is actually no where to be found today. On the other hand, many ancient southern kingdoms (e.g. the sacred kingdom of IFE of over a millennium) continues to be in existence till date. In sum then: Despite your attempt at distraction, you seem to have no Hausa-Fulani match comparable to what is obtainable in southern Nigerian. The Illorin you're talking abt had connection with BAYAJIDDATo nip this crap in the bud real quick: The indigenous foundation and ownership of Ilorin has nothing to do with the legend of Bayajida. Ilorin is an indigenous Oyo town founded, within the Oyo country, by Laderin who also was its first Baale. Its present-day foreign connection is with a religion, namely: Islam — a religion which is also foreign to the Hausas and the Fulanis. Its present-day Islamic connection was, however, via Sokoto which in turn delegated Islamic leaders for it. This has continued till date as long as the indigenous people have continued to embrace the Islamic-model leadership. In sum then, Ilorin’s origin or foundation has nothing to do with Bayajida. The number of extant ancestral Yoruba family compounds in Ilorin stands today at as 6,019; while Fulanis have only 92 extant compounds. What you seem to be confused about is Ilorin’s first delegated Islamic leader, viz. Amir Abdussalami. He is obviously of Hausa-Fulani origin and hence has connection with the Bayajida story. •••Believe me or not those naked, illiterates monarchs u quoted were never recognised by whites because of their way of life. What!? Naked?? illiterates?? I wonder what else you do with your brain if you’re dead-scared to reason. You have provided zero evidence to demonstrate (or even suggest) that your people knew anything about clothes even in as recent as 500 years ago. Whereas, I have provided you with hard redoubtable evidence of the use of clothes in the ancient kingdom of Ife dating to more than 700 years ago. Yet somehow in your warped logic, my people are the naked ones (despite the contrary evidence) and your people were clothed (despite zero evidence). Wow! On literacy: Like I have noted before, more than 900 years ago my people were into glass production (and dichroic beads) in IFE. [See: A. Babalola, S. K. McIntoch, L. Dussubieux, & T. Rehren: “Ile-Ife and Igbo Olokun in the History of Glass in West Africa,” Antiquity, June 2017]. At the time (and even prior), my people were also working metals to produce some the finest naturalistic bronze sculptures to which nothing is comparable in black Africa. A European Art historian, Frank Willet, once remarked that the Ife sculptures "would stand comparison with anything which Ancient Egypt, Classical Greece and Rome, or Renaissance Europe had to offer” [See: Frank Willett, “Ife and Its Archaeology,” The Journal of African History, Vol. 1, No. 2 (1960), p. 239.]. These findings and words are not such as may be used to qualify an illiterate group of people. You may please begin to use your brain today. Do you mind informing me of any notable home-grown Hausa-Fulani feat which may be said to be indicative of literacy or civilization? I’d like to see some evidence. Sultan command more respect, has more followers than any other individual in Nigeria.More respect and more followers in what sense?? Do you mean this in the sense of his superficial leadership of Nigerian Muslims as imposed by the Hausa-Fulani dominated FG? Lol. I think Supo Ayokunle is more proud of something truly profound for being the leader of all Nigerian Christians. His leadership is the Nigerian Christians’ choice rather than FG imposition. But if your comment here is in reference to the Sultan’s traditional Sokoto stool (rather than his superficial FG-imposed religious leadership in Nigeria), then consider the following: The Ooni of Ife is not only IFE’s king, he is also the head of all Yoruba subgroups world-wide — as well as the head of some indigenous non-Yoruba groups of Nigeria and other parts of West Africa. Cheers! 3 Likes 3 Shares |
