Confusion breakbone!
They announced new pump price of N212, hours later, NNPC tweeted there's no increase, 2 hours PPPRA deleted the new template.

Uber/Bolt can't adjust price with this kind of back and front decision of our stupid and incompetent government

I am saying with a 100% certainty that your AC need not be fully functional to maintain a good rating.

You only need to be jovial and be able to strike good and interesting conversation.

Yes, some of them no send your conversation and will not even talk to you but by and large, you'll maintain a decent rating and won't be blocked.

Very rough car, plus breaking down every now and then.
In fact he's just fortunate, not like it's even a popular car (Nissan primera? Maybe he uses juju because I just can't can. When I said how he managed to remain in the system is a mystery believe me.

It's a very sad story.
Drivers should tell their partners to insure their cars comprehensively for a situation as this.
It might take months after thorough investigation by the insurance company to pay your claim but they will definitely pay.
I am sure if he hadn't contest with them and release the key when the robbers demanded it, he would be alive today.

How can you be talking about property when someone just lost his life. Insurance or not reflex must take it course in every situation. I've shared an experience here b4 how a rider ordere the bolt driver to stop for him to pee and afterwards the criminal pulled off his belt and strangled the driver with it from behind making away with his car. 2-3months after they found the car in Benin City and the guy is currently serving in kirirkiri max prison, but someone had already lost his life leaving behind a young woman and kids.

Partner got his car back and sold it. So who loose?

Its high time these app companies are been dragged to court.

As per drivers ratings, no one knows how far riders can go to rate u low, even if there's another rate worst more than 1 star, riders will use it on we drivers.
Ok I picked a lady around surulere, on our way going my phone keep ringing so I later asked for her permission if I can pick d call and she said yes, she nw asked me if riders doesn't allow drivers to pick calls, I said yes nw especially all this island girls, she nw said some drivers worst o, that they'll keep making long calls while driving Nd riders dare not talk but after d end of d trip they'll give d driver 1star with very bad review.
She also said she first look at my face Wen I reach d PU that I wasn't smiling and that already give a bad impression already before she later knows I'm nice and jovial...
She gisted me about how she show a driver pepper while driving her to her house and d driver said he can't go further cos d road in their area is very bad and his his car is low, she said she told d driver that's not her fault, all drivers knows Nigeria roads are bad, that he shld hv raise his car before he join d platform... After alot of dragging The driver sha manage to go front a little to like 4 houses before her house and because of this she rate d driver so low, reported him, send his num to her friends to report him as well... U can imagine how far she went to block the driver frm his career. I just pity the man, and riders that do this d most are ladies btw 16-25 years (my observation). What I'm saying in essence is that u can't please a rider 100%, jst do ur best and leave the rest.

You self your over sabi too much...sorry Oh but it's the truth.

Did I read you say you took permission to take calls? Can you imagine? Ha! Shame! Is she your boss? Are you a monthly pay by her? So what permission do you need from her apart from refueling? And in this case if the rider refuses and I know my fuel level is critical I simply end the ride right there. After all Uber/Bolt says drivers are independent operators (independent my a.ss)

The conversation on maintaining a high driver rating is interesting. Let me drop my own opinion based on my experience:

First, most drivers consider their ehailing work transitory (I myself join when I left my last job and decided not to be idle but couldn't leave it even when I got a job grin). The reality though is that your progress in life is a function of your mind and the mentality you cultivate . Also, your mind is conditioned by the kind of interactions you make (with animate or inanimate things) and how you respond to them. Don't for the sake of having a 5.0 sacrifice it.

I have booked rides with drivers having 4.9plus on bolt after several hundreds or thousands of trips, and while I appreciate their extra effort at pleasing everybody, I often see a person whose mind has been broken by the desire to please everybody (particularly knowing the kind of riders that you will often find on bolt).

Don't for the sake of having a high rating sacrifice allow your mind to be conditioned into someone that is perpetually subservient and of low self-esteem because many riders look down on drivers as no-do-gooders or not capable of being any better and for such riders to rate you 5*, you will have to bend back a lot and take shit that will likely disrupt your mentality.

So why I congratulate drivers with high ratings on bolt, I ask that you ensure it is not coming at a high price. Don't sacrifice long term ambitions for short term gains.

As for your question, I think it's actually a good thing because if they force riders to rate drivers, some of them who don't want to rate will just give you "gba je n simi" 3 or 4 stars.

Lol grin

Well, it all boils down to goals, focus, ambition, and condition.
If u have an alternative then by all means don't take d shit. If this is transient, a means to an end, then bend till u r done. If its ur heaven and earth, all u have, better than every other option, then u have to protect it at all cost.
Omo, if u quite or get kicked out of the Apps nobody will feed u or raise u. Yes, I know its not the end of the world, we will still survive if we aren't on e-hailing but a bird at hand is worth thousands in the bush.
8-5 workers also endure terrible things from bosses and senior associates, they pray for a better job or transfer, but its not a guarantee the oppression will end. This is life, this is the trade, u either accept it or bow out.

@ Kanoski, I did this trade full time on bolt for about 2 months and it appears you own your car which gives you a lot of flexibility to succeed in this trade. Permit me to share my survival strategies with you (although I have a rating that fluctuated between 4.4 - 4.6).

- I don't do the island rush thing: The island has a lot of sassy and ill manner kids (apologies to residents there). I live on the mainland and "POSITION" my car to received trips that keep me on the mainland. By mainland I mean Ikeja, Ilupeju, Yaba not mushin, powerline and co. Position just simply means there are places you park that determine the trips you get. There were times I did 100% of my trips with Ikeja , Ogudu, Ojudu, Ilupeju......good roads, well-mannered riders and good money.....also mainland pips are less likey to keep you waiting for long periods and open to you talking to them (my experience)

- Call before you leave you move to pick up a rider and have a 1 min talk: calling gives you an insight into the kind of rider you are going to meet, it also helps you "position" yourself well before you meet them. I have had instances where I cancelled trips just because the riders sounded very rude over the phone. If you carry such riders, they will give you poor rating, spoil your mood (causing you to transfer it to subsequent riders) and probably mess up your car

- dress well, keep your car clean & in good working condition (including your A/C).

- Go over and beyond where the driver deserves it. Let me give you examples:

- I once took a girl from VI to somewhere in marina. I ended the trip on Eko bridge because I realise she was fidgety and ask that I end the trip on the bridge. I told her Eko bridge isn't safe and she opened up she doesn't have money to pay for being stuck in traffic. I told her not to worry, collected what she had and took her there nonetheless. Except she is a demon, she will rewards such with 5* and moreso, if she had dropped in traffic, I wont be able to pick any else nonetheless.

-On bolt, let riders know the route you are following based on the map (on indriver, you are king of your route) - a lot of issues arise from route-related disputes

- take time to rest - driving when stressed often means you have little tolerance to riders misbehaving

Let me stop here, others can also tell you how they cope

Yeah, thats where I stay at the moment but like you know I'm part of the geng that's moving lagos around so it will be difficult to make out time unless you wanna pay 3k/hr for keeping me at a spot grin

I'm yet to even find time to assist one of us here that wants to master his driving technics (i feel so disappointed after promising and have since then not been able to fulfill my promise) I hope I do some day. So you understand why I can't make any promise because I've mouths to feed, rent, fee, plus other bills to pay holding to the fact that I'm renting the car I'm using, so its really not convenient with me as the only time I've left I use to rest and play with my kids and deliberate issues with my partner(sp).

The only thing that can work is, try be open minded and state your concerns and worries here and I assure you to get justice done to it. If that is not convenient with you kindly ring me or send a WhatsApp message to my line: 803, 513. 28. 76.

Guy leave good car out of rating abeg, the Bolt rating system is designed to satisfy and protect the interest of customers(riders) and then to use and dump drivers.

Which riders are you talking about? The once with entitlement mentality?

Or is it the once that would want you to come pick them up right inside their bathing room?

Or the once that would say, "I ordered you so you're meant to call". This same riders knows Gmap misleads drivers to their PU yet they won't call but would want you to call them on top their N500 trip. Bolt commision is H, pms is N165/168/ltr, you'll call, use data, receive insult join, may even run into the hands of lasma, touts, one way, airport among others with your good car well maintained yet Bolt will tell you've low rating and uber will say your cancellation rate is higher than other drivers while Indriver will tell you your bad reviews are too much but they all forgot the day you complained of how a rider left without paying.

You know, you look around and all you see is you being used by these app companies all in the names of giving you riders. Bus.hit!

Inbtw, where is angryigbodon, I'm yet to receive the N50k you promised abeg send the money I won use am start pure water business i don tire for all these nonsense.

In conclusion, if you lile carry Bentley or roycrolls or even Ferrari that girl call chioma, shelly, Jumoke will still rate you with 1 star that you're rude, they will say sha na because of your fine car you dey raise shoulder?
gringringrin

One driver just got stabbed to death in Abuja a few days ago, why? because bolt/uber take zero documentation from riders, yet drivers wade through a mountain of expensive paperwork just to be able to drive and get paid a pittance.

Meanwhile, most of the riders are violent criminals, prōstitutes and fraudsters (some are actually danfo people who don't even know how to close the door of a car properly) but they talk down at drivers anyhow. Even after kissing their ãss they might still rate you average just for the hell of it... and you need a minimum 4.5 to stay on the app...

May God rest the victim's soul. I've heard people who escaped or lost their cars to robbers, the stories most of them shared was : the robbers asked for their keys and ordered them outta d car hence my plea for comprehensive insurance.
The reason why most Drivers struggle with these criminals is the fear of being locked up by partners who might not believe what happened to them.
May we not fall victim of such circumstances.

I don't know why folks take this hustle to be the end-all because you are afraid of low ratings or being blocked. I'm highly rated on Uber and I have never ever asked anyone to rate me. Anything you rate me, I just don't care but I will never do anything that is against my wish.

A few months ago, drove this crazy woman from Ikota to Ajah, a trip that was less than five minutes, Uber kept sending requests my way during the trip and the woman was furious that I shouldn't be touching my phone, oboi, had to park and returned the favour. Seriously told her off, she abused me, I abused her back mightily and left. Which one is taking permission from rider before making an important call? Except there's Lastma or Road Safety around, or simply not convenient for me to pick or make an important call.

Another story on the issue of fuel was when I picked a girl around LBS to Ajah, I was running out of fuel, after making a U- turn at Olokunla, I wanted to buy fuel at the Total Filling Station there, the little girl said that "it will be on her", therefore, I shouldn't. I said no problem then, we will have whine down until the end of the trip. As fate will have it, there was serious traffic leading to Ajah. The journey lasted about an hour, she left my car with serious sweating. I quietly entered the Oando at Ilaje and bought fuel while mocking her in my mind for being stupid. Too many of such bad experiences. Is it the ones, that I have refused to wait for or simply WILL NOT TALK to, just do my job and get off. Never gave a f**k about rating, still rated very highly.

If one is professional enough in all ramifications, you should never worry about how you are rated while doing your job. If you are too nice to Nigerians, they will take advantage of you in a way you may not like.

Amen.

Every offense is bailable so why die over property? If na fire nko?

For the first time we are agreeing on a common thing.grin

My rating had been on 4.48 for the past 1month after I'd a bad experience with 2riders in a day which brought it down from 4.68, what did i do? I applied one of the techniques resurgent stated in his last post... Before PU I made sure I communicate with the prospective rider that would inform me weather to go or not. Just like last night experience that i shared here with the little girl. I woke up this morning to see the spike my rating took...boom! 4.58.

I look forward to making it 4.88 by endnof next month.

I told one woman last night on the phone after she'd cancelled over 6 request to me.

Me: are you tired?
R: what do you mean? Why do you keep accepting my request you must ne very stupid for asking me that question
Me: your fada, get the he'll outta my phone, nonsense.
Bad energy stay far away. I disengaged b4 she even said another word gringrin

What do you think will happen if I'd gone in that ride? 1star off course.
