Hello guys, How do I get my provisional driving license here in the Uk? I've checked online and I saw two options... £34 if you apply online and £43 by post, please which one is suitable for a JJC like me?

The question should be...... How much money do you have to spend......... grin

Wake up to the digital age and shake that Nigerian paper carrying mentality off........

I’d use the online option as it’s cheaper

Online of course, JJC or not.
Unless you don't have a card that can be debited online, in which case you are entering into a different level.

Good morning everyone, thank you for all your contributions thus far. Please my people, we have been trying to secure an accommodation here in the UK(North), we have applied through some agents on Zoopla and Rightmove.

We got a house that was viewed, the agent said the Landlord has accepted our application after filling an online application form. We were askes to pay a holding fee, which we did. They requested for copies of our travel documents, Proofs of our legal stay in the country and our current address respectively.

We got a response that our files would be sent out to their refrencing team and we should expect their email.

Please my people, does it mean we are getting the accomodation?

We are tired of searching! One of the agents where we applied has been calling us so frequently to make the deposit; we are beginning to be doubtful of her genuineness. Please help!

Thank you.

If you happen to get considered for checks, you may have a chance of getting the accommodation. However, you have to pay the holding deposit (1 week rent) before they would go ahead to do a reference check on you. The holding deposit would eventually be removed from your rent when you are asked to pay

Thank you for your kind advice

Thank you, sir.

I understand this to mean it's possible for the family to travel over together, relocating at the same time, if they file their documents in 'one hit'. Correct?

If I realize that the marriage certificate that we have might not be acceptable to the UK authorities, can I regularize it retrospectively at the registry, without raising any red flag?

Thanks again for your prompt response.

Oh and yes, I'm most thankful. smiley

P.S: Responses from others are welcome, please.

I only use my marriage certificate (from Catholic Church)and it was successful.

Also you have to think about accommodation when relocating with your family, better for your wife to come first and settle and then prepare for you guys unless you are loaded with ££££.

Any house you view and like.

Tell them you are ready to pay 6 months rents as you really like the house.

No landlord will refuse that.

Thanks a bunch, @umarwy.
I'm hopeful that the isolation requirement would have eased by the time we're ready to travel.

And in any case, as long as the isolation requirement is still in place, the kids would have to shelter in with an adult anytime they travel to join. No?

Isolation with kids in Abnb/hotel, while in a new environment might exert a level of stress you are not planning/prepared for.
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Lexusgs430: 2:26pm On Mar 13, 2021
Veegal.......

Referencing simply means a credit history check + affordability test........

The result of the above, would determine if you have secured that accommodation.......

NB: Referencing fees, are non refundable.........

But it's the truth na, all the ones that say house owner guarantor.
3 times annual rent guarantor, royal family relative guarantor.

Just shut them up with 6 months rent.

Anything money can't do......

More money can do it.
