Hi guys, good day. I drive a Honda Civic 2009
For a while now I noticed that once I engage my gear, it takes about 5 to 10s before it engages and there is this click or vibration like something just entered a slot, I didn’t think much about it. Yesterday while on 3mb, I noticed something falling off, don’t know if it’s one debris I matched or it’s from my car, after about 1 hour still driving I noticed when I slow down, it will be jerking like it wants to go off, but when I turn off the AC it will stop, and when I want to accelerate again, the car will be firing but it won’t pick till after a while or when I release my leg from the accelerator and press it again. when I got to VI, I parked somewhere slopey. And the car refused to reverse. Turned off the engine and put it back on, everything went back to normal. When I got to the office, I checked under the engine bay and noticed something like oil around an area I believe is the gear box area( I may be wrong). Just checked the gear oil gauge and it’s normal.
Though I noticed the gear light indicator blinking( it’s being like that since I got the car, abs light also on).

Changed the gear oil in January at honda place.

I’ll appreciate all inputs as it bothers me

Attached is my gear dip stick after car has been on for over 30mins

Do you know any mechanic that can do this scan and rectify the error thereafter? Please provide mechanic details and location. Thanks

Hi, Please I use a Honda Accord 2008, While moving on the road it sometimes suddenly jerks and suddenly doesn’t accelerate again, the rpm doesn’t go above 2 so it’s also doesn’t go above 20mph so the car will just be cruising. I have to park, and I notice when I park and put it on Park it suddenly makes a revving noise but is still doesn’t go above 2 on the rpm, until I switch it off and wait for like a minute to on it again before it starts going normally and accelerating again. Please what could be the issue?

Single cell
ignore the double cell advice and take your car to a good shop. The people that put single cell inside your car in the first place didn't know what they were doing abi?

I'm sorry you had to pass through this. But I think this issue has been discussed several times here. Deleting you thermostat is NEVER the solution when your engine overheats. Find the root cause. Imagine deleting your factory fitted thermostat, to changing your fans, to working on the top gasket...and at the end issue is still unresolved.

Meanwhile, problem could be a leaking hose, or worn out radiator, to failing radiator cap etc.

I can't tell you how many times this was the problem.

Thank you sir

Did you notice the engine oil creamy before or after your head gasket job?

If you noticed it after changing the gasket (and obviously changing the oil and filter) then it’s pointing to the fact that your head gasket job was a flop.

Take it back to the Mech to do a proper machining of the affected parts before finally coupling the engine plus don’t forget to rectify whatever caused your overheating problem in the first place or else your engine could go ‘kaput’ in the next unfortunate episode [/quote]

Hello house, I just got 2008 Honda Accord and I noticed the gear oil was bad ( the D light was blinking).. changed it with 4 (1L) of Honda gear oil... this morning I noticed the oil was short but it didn’t leak anywhere on the floor where I parked... I called the mechanic and he said we need to top it with one more liter... does that mean the car uses 5 liter gear oil ?

Is a 6 months Nigerian used (unregistered) Honda Accord a good buy for 1.4m?

The engineer, says there isn't a major thing to fix in the car.

The body is fairly clean too.

Please share your thoughts.

When I changed my CR-V gearbox I used 5litres to guage it.

Before buying the car, please check the custom papers. That will give you a hint about when the car got into the country.. Also run the Vin on askniid.org to see if it has been registered before.

Thanks.

Askniid.org isn't running VIN checks, though.

Seems it's just policy and registration they do.

Checked the history on another VIN website though.
