They are legit scams.

The only person who wins is the seller. You feel you are getting a good deal by trying to buy a 250,000 naira phone with 1,000 naira ; probably 100 other people are feeling the same way. So 1 million of you buy a bid pack of 25,000 naira containing 250 bids and start placing bids.

Kobobid makes 2.5m ...

You have to pray you can outbid the other 100 people and probably keep buying bidpacks to do this. Eventually you may spend more than the cost of the phone to bid for the phone while kobo bid gets their money. You do not get a refund though... you get tired and cut your losses.

You keep buying bid packs as well as 100 other people.
Its same thing as Bazaar you dont actually get it cheaper at the end..
Just imagine if bazaars charge bidding fees.

The software that powers it is sold for like $100 , the admin can easily manipulate the outcome.

There are technically no winners on the consumer side.

They will definitely succeed in Nigeria as many of the people there have been brought up to believe 100% in 'miracles' in the process many have unrealistic expectations.

The first day I registered on kobobid...after reading how it works..I was entirely discouraged. It might not be scam but the greediness of the owner is overwhelming..
