ultimatebas: Please where did you get this info? It's not on USinNigeria website or social media accounts, this is what's there. I need to renew by B1/B2 also. https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-visarenew.asp

This talks about expansion of the interview waiver for those already qualified. Nigerians do not qualify since it was cancelled some years back, the news will be that we now qualify and not an expansion overlord77: 1 Like |

overlord77: ibukunpops: Exactly. It doesn't say it applies to Nigeria. "Travelers are encouraged to review the website of the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for detailed information on what services are currently available as well as eligibility information and instructions on applying for a visa without an interview." Until it's posted on USinNigeria I think I will just hold on. 1 Like |

pufframmy:Good day house ,pls I want to ask a vital question . So, the US consulate Lagos says B1/B2 will begin appearing for visa November 30. So, I have a family friend who wants to do his wedding and wants to invite about 10 person( list is complete). Can he still write to the embassy to notify them of the invite and the number of persons he’s inviting or what’s the best way ? Cos he doesn’t wana waste time if they are not granting interview for b1/b2 till November 30? Ur opinion will be appreciated .. thanks |

Paradox44: That's a lot of refusal in 24 months? And you next application will be judged largely on the reason(s) of those refusals. Then economic ties with a foreign country and your home country has to be clearly articulated. |

Well, please note that letter of invitation for a non immigrant visa is useless as far US embassy and consulate are concerned. They don't care to check. There is 98% chance that they will not request to see any of your documents. You don't have a job in Naija. That's a red flag. What are you returning back to Naija to do? You are seeing as a potential japa master especially when there's no travel history. Except miracle happens, your profile is not looking good. I am sorry for being blunt. niyi20: 3 Likes |

Kemo88: Thanks. Good day, Can someone who has had B1/B2 visa and expired 5 months ago schedule a fresh interview appointment for F1 visa for good reasons of career development with US admission ? The website says it’s ineligible to renew visa by swapping from one visa category to another. I will appreciate your feedback and reply. Thanks |

Travel Advisory: Level 3 - Reconsider Travel...Read More U.S. Embassy & Consulate in Nigeria | [Skip to Content] United States Mission in Nigeria Prioritizes Immigrant Visa Applicants Refused Under Presidential Proclamation 9983 Home | News & Events | United States Mission in Nigeria Prioritizes Immigrant Visa Applicants Refused Under Presidential Proclamation 9983 7 On January 20, 2021, President Biden signed a Presidential Proclamation titled “Ending Discriminatory Bans on Entry to the United States.” This ended the travel restrictions under Presidential Proclamations 9645 and 9983 that had suspended entry into the United States of certain nationals, based on visa type, from various countries to include Nigeria. In Nigeria, this proclamation banned entry for certain immigrant visa categories. The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos has already contacted all immigrant visa applicants whose applications were affected and is prioritizing the processing of these pending cases. Recent media reports claiming “Nigerians denied visas on or after January 20, 2020, can re-apply for free” are inaccurate. The Proclamation announcement applies only to certain immigrant visa cases, and does not apply to tourist, business, student, or other nonimmigrant visas. Our Consular Sections in Abuja and Lagos are gradually restoring routine visa operations in accordance with COVID-19 safety mitigation protocols. The validity of nonimmigrant visa payments (known as the MRV fee) has been extended until September 30, 2022, to allow all applicants who were unable to schedule a visa appointment as a result of the suspension of routine consular operations an opportunity to schedule and/or attend a visa appointment with the already paid fee. Nonimmigrant visa applicants who were previously refused and would like to apply again will need to submit a new visa application (DS-160) and pay a new visa application processing fee.
