Col. Abubakar is a millitary police officer and not a combatant, so he can't go to war by millitary standard. Only combactant soldiers go to war unless if there is an emergency that is when noncombactant soldiers are sent to war zone.

No Sir, military police can go to battle from to ensure there is tactical discipline in the army and ensure all arms and ammo are safely accounted for - moreso MIPOL ensure the welfare of officers at the battle field is taken care off so he is needed there - no be only who dey shoot dey go war front oo doctors and nurses, cooks and drivers are there too

What does a Lt Colonel do then?

A Major is the lowest field officer and rarely has business commanding a Battalion.

He should be an Executive officer in a battalion or leading a specialized unit in a battalion.

Where did you get the above crap? Every military formation depends on the size of the army and number of staff officers such can boast. During Nigeria\Biafra war, Majors and Lt.Cols were mostly the brigade commanders. In some cases, Lt Cols and Cols were entrusted to command Divisions.
Military Field Manuals are not engraved on a stone. Situation alters the regimental status quo of military parlance.

There are more Igbo casualties in this Bokoharam thing than there would ever be amongst the Ijaw.

Late major Adaka Boro is celebrated by our people because of the value we place on the sacrifices of Boro.

If not for the sacrifices of people like Boro the Igbo would have succeeded in their attempt to steal Ijawland.

If anyone is crying it is Nnamdi Kanu not me.

You that after Fulani herders kill your people your governors either reward them with cash gifts or go to Abuja and cry.

It is your Igbo stupidity that made the Fulani herders to be this brazen.

Nobody ever succeeds with a false history. Your kind Ijaw people are destined to perish with your false narratives!
Adaka Boro was a corrupt and misguided youngster who thought he knew more than his elders, until his so called friends cut him quickly! So did Saro Wiwa, though that one was allowed to enjoy his own false narratives of love a little longer.
Remain lazy, and refuse to do a proper historical search of true events, because laziness is part of your DNA.
Igbos have been paying the ultimate price for Nigeria since 1940s, no big deal, but don't ever come back here to complain about how this government is doing your God forsaken people wrong, because short sighted folks like you ain't seen nothing yet.

You are the one telling false history and as a liar you are the one who would perish.

Prior to the conflict between Nigeria and Biafra, Boro was not in Nigeria's military. Neither did he hold public office so where does your false claim on corruption stem from?

Boro had the support of our elders. Different Ijaw communities sent their sons to serve under Boro in the course the war.

I wonder why you brought in Saro-Wiwa into this discussion.

It is shortsighted Igbo people like you who made Nigeria what it is today. Ijaw people didn't stop you from having a landlocked Igbo country. You encroached into Ijaw territory, engaging in war crimes.

Our land is not God forsaken. The way you Igbos flee from your homeland one would ask if it isn't God forsaken.

If you've been dying for Nigeria since the 1940s why are you angry that Ijaw people are not happy they lost one of their sons?

So a soldier from Rivers paid ultimate price for a issue which does not concern any body in the state . While a soldier from north east part of the country will mount road block ,harass and extort money from people of river state.
In this geographic expression aka failed nation ,there seems to be federal character of sharing duties ,only in respect to soldiers ,while juiciest political, economical , military duties are reserved for one section of the country.

Wont be suprised ,if one of the boko supporters in fulani army has leaked the information as usual.

but Bokoharam members are mostly from the Kanuri extraction not Fulanis

Pathetically irresponsible and false history. Boro was educated and nurtured by Igbos who had no animosity based on tribe or religion, they even elected him SUG president at UNN. He tried his hands on teaching, customs, and police work, but like a messianic teenager, he rebelled not against Igbos, but against his own local chief, administrators, and officers. Fortunately, or unfortunately for him, his noise attracted the attention of those in the west who have been looking for openings into eastern Nigerian affairs. They promised him heaven and earth, and eventually Yoruba army officers killed him like the dog he was!!!
Saro Wiwa, like Boro understood the tragedy of his sabotage of his own people all in the name of fighting Igbos, but it was too late. He even begged Ojukwu for help as his "friends" were leading him to the gallows. Boro could have been alive a little longer to mature and grow some sense, but his own "friends" could not wait!!!!!!
When you reconstruct Adaka Boro's history try a little research, and stop sounding lazy and foolish. Prominent Ijaw chiefs were the first to propose Biafra, the first to support Ojukwu, because all over the north Ijaws, Efiks, Ibibios were equally massacred as Igbos. Next you will shout our oyel! And I would say, shut up your dirty mouth, because the people who own your own oil gives you less than 13%, and it's still not helping you at all.
Your landlock fantasy is a mirage, because Okirika continues to lie as ruins in PH as all your shameless efforts to steal abandoned properties of your Igbo masters. Most importantly, after Diette Spiff, and other lazy Ijaw leaders who were rewarded by Gowon, Rivers State will never be ruled by Ijaw people again. As long as we have democracy, Igbos will continue to rule your miserable selves. Go back to Yenagoa, build it, develop it, and be reasonable for once.
Yorubas made Boro feel special, then they struck him from behind as he was "gallantly" inspecting his conquest of Biafran troops!!!.
Gowon paid, encourage, and promoted an untrained Adaka Boro to major to the envy of long serving Yoruba soldiers, and like all fooolissssh men, he got carried away.
Instead of kids like you to learn from his error, someone has been busy making up history such as " all families contributed troops to Boro" Boro was a fugitive, even to his own people at that time. Find out how many Ijaw chiefs were against Boro----- homework for your lazy self!

My question is, why would a Major be commanding a Battalion, a Special Force Battalion for that matter?

A Colonel should command a Battalion, Brigadier General, a Brigade and Major General a Division.

A Major should be commanding a Company not a Special Forces Battalion please.

my dear some people here have been insulting their papa not me because I said I don't pity soldiers, but I no send any body, if you see the atrocities these soldier's commit in the East on innocent civilians, you go shock, Lekki tollgate nko? till today what did the Lagos panel find out? how many soldiers where convicted? they denied they didn't kill any body, but when they go up North, they become humbled, if you haven't lost a loved one in the hands of this people unjustly, you may never feel the pains some people feels, so, let the Boko boys keep repaying them in their own coin till they change and do the right thing.

What were they doing at the creeks before they lost their lives ? Protecting oil well for Niger Delta or for whom ?

Look who is talking?

Only an ignorant person thinks that the Niger Delta owns any oil.

They only custody the nations oil, just as other sections, custody other national resources.

Nigeria owns the oil. Proceeds from crude oil sales go into the federation account, and not the Niger Delta account. States only get compensated for custodying the oil in form derivation.

So to answer the question which you, obviously, asked out of ignorance, the soldiers are in the Niger Delta to protect Nigeria's resources / assets. So, should they be killed for doing so?

You think it is justified to kill soldiers in the creeks because of crude oil that 'supposedly' belongs to the Niger Delta, right?
