Good Morning NL,

MY UK POE EXPERIENCE.

Journey was ok and smooth from lag to addis to heathrow.

we were all lined up observing social distancing @ heathrow at d passport control.

I was asked these question when it reaches our turn

(1) London is on lockdown why coming now?
- this is the most important question n i spent several minutes explaining, she pursed briefly maybe to confirm what i said about my host on her system.
cos i mentioned its bn 10years we've seen our host and and i told her ds is our 2nd visit visa d 1st expired and we dont want this to expire.

some other personal explanations follow.
*one just need to be composed and truthful*

(2) who are you coming to meet in london?

(3) how is dt person related to you?

(4) the job of our host?

(5) are you working in nigeria? - i just said YES

(6) asked my wife only her job in nigeria?

The POE person collected nd scan through:
(1) Pasports
(2) passanger locator form
(3) covid result from nigeria
(4) £210 receipt
(5) return ticket

*cold dey ooooo

Hello saw your feedback , are you confirming that it is mandatory to conduct another covid test upon arrival in the UK?
Please confirm because am confused my assumption was that once you conduct a test in
Nigeria you are good to go.

not only is it mandatory but u must also pay for this test before leaving Nigeria and have your receipt/invoice number for this. The test costs 210 pounds . Also you are to fill the passenger locator form.
Failure to do the above, get ready to be returned to Nigeria..

1. u will do covid test in 9ja 72Hrs b4 depature and present ur -ve report
2. u will pay £210 for day 2 n 8 test to be done in Uk, the invoice number will be needed on ur passanger locator form.

(NB: ur day 2 n day 8 covid test kits will be sent to ur host address u filled b4 ur arrival so dt u carry out d test and send to them, ive done mine and result sent to my email)

3. u will then do another covid test 96hours b4 leaving UK, upload ur report on ncdc website and make payment for another covid test to be done in 9ja after 7 days of arrival.

without nos 1 and 2 above, they wont allow u board in nigeria and trust me if u find ur way around and board, d flight career will be fined and trust me u no fit scale through UK border POE, those guys r not smiling, they will detect and deport sharp sharp

Hope this is explanatory enough bro?

Hello giselle237

Thanks for your response. Please could you please advise on the supporting documents I should prepare to get before submitting the application for my wife since you have submitted same as well at some point. And is there a document checklist at the end of the form, maybe after payment?

Any advise you give would go along way. Thanks grin

Documents should include-
1.COS, letter from hospital... one of these should show that dependents maintenance is covered for if not you must put funds in the bank for the number of days advised... check www.gov.uk for more details
2. Marriage certificate and everything you can provide to authenticate your marriage..wedding pictures, relationship pictures? chats, emails, phonecalls, bills in your names linking to same house etc
3. Tb certificate
4. Ur tenancy agreement just to show she has an address she is coming to.. if this will change then she can simply use your sponsor’s address to fill in
5. Police clearance certificate from FCID lagos or Force headquarters abuja or zone 10 abuja
6. Visa form paid for as well as IHS

Goodmorning fam, i know there's a lot of frequent travellers on here so i hope to get very crisp ideas smiley. My mum is coming to d uk with alot of food stuffs via ethopian airline(flight is transit). She has 23kg X 2. In order to maximise the kg has shes coming with a lot i suggested to her not use travel bags but instead ghana must go bags as they are light weighted. Is this a good plan

great. thank you.

also if we managed to upload some of the documents by ourselves, should we click submit documents or not, since we will still do upload with the rest of the documents at the site?

thanks

HI, please how were you able to upload your docs online?. I chose self service. I've booked an appointment but I didn't get a link on how to upload my documents.

as long as u want assisted service at the centre even if u click submit, the TLS people will be able to un-submit it from their end and add other documents as long as u pay your 11,700
No matter how many pages the document is, the price still 11,700?

I think another way to access the tfl portal for upload is if you log out of ur gov account and log back in . Since payment has been made already u shud see something like upload supporting documents.

Also check ur spam because after payment yu shud have received an email that prompts you to upload i think.

No real difference - the important thing is the handling.
Also remember that Ghana-must-go bags can tear, so if using those, tell her to consider getting them wrapped in nylon at the airport before checking them in.

Very good suggestion. Let her wrap it after weighing. I use ghana must go most times when my loads are ..., they can save as much as 3-4kgs. Ethiopia airlines are more lenient than most airlines when it comes to load.

You know when u select self ... yu still need to add self upload to ur basket. You would see cost as zero naira.

From the image u sent it appears theres has been an issue with yur selections.

If you have selected self upload there should also be a point with something like documents uploaded on the tracking page.

Eithere there was an issue with ur selection or its an IT problem.

Solution- option 1- get ready to take in all ur docs fr submission + 11,400 payments
Option 2- if yu certain u made all ur selections accurately then try contacting tfl to relay this issue to them.

Someone else on here might be able to help with any better advice as well
