Chelsea are preparing to face Atletico Madrid in their Champions League last-16 second leg on Wednesday following a goalless draw against Leeds.

The Blues will be looking to bounce back after missing the chance to leapfrog Leicester City into third place in the Premier League with a 0-0 draw against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Kai Havertz was chosen to lead the line by Thomas Tuchel, with Timo Werner and Olivier Giroud on the bench at Elland Road.

The tactical switch did not pay off as the 21-year-old spurned several presentable opportunities to break the deadlock.

However, Tuchel’s rotation means Chelsea should have fresh legs for Wednesday’s crucial second leg against Atleti.

Tuchel has already revealed that Mateo Kovacic will start in midfield, after the Croatian was rested for the trip to Leeds.

Chelsea will be without the suspended Mason Mount and Jorginho for the tie against Diego Simeone’s side after the pair picked up three bookings in the competition, so Kovacic is likely to play alongside N’Golo Kante.

The Blues hold a 1-0 lead in the tie thanks to Giroud’s brilliant overhead kick in the first leg and have seen their chances boosted over the weekend.

Tough one it gonna be, but Tuchelsea will qualified!
