Hello Everyone,

I have applied 2twice for my Study Permit to Canada and was refused for the second time last week. First refusal was in October 2020.

The refusal for my first application was based on 1. Course of Study, 2. Family Ties 3. Personal and Financial Assets

The second refusal was simply stated as ....."Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more: your qualifications,
previous studies, level of establishment, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans"...

I have my admission into Centennial College for Baking and Pastry Management which is actually what i want to study based on my several years experience as a self employed Baker. I actually have a first degree in Pol Science earned in 2019 from Open University of nigeria but I have been a baker for the past 5 years with a Registered Business, and Various Local Certificates in Baking which i all supplied in my application. I tried to explain all of this in my second application attempt but I guess it wasnt enough for the VO.

Please anyone, what do I need to do at this stage? I want to reapply but honestly i dont know how best to convince the VO that my 1st Degree to me is just a Paper.... Afterall people can have mutliple degrees in various fields. Baking has been my profession and i only intend to advance it thats the only way i can remain self-employed.

Furthermore, when reapplying, does it mean that the only reason stated in my last refusal is the thing i need to worry about or I have to start revalidating every other previously submitted docs like bank statements, letter from sponsor etc?

Please help, i need to reapply asap to meet up with May registration.

Good day @ FRANKROBBN1 @ JUSTMELLOW

I applied since December 10th and i am yet to see any review on my application, i have done biometric and upfront medical and this has been uploaded, and tag passed

my class will be starting this May , you advise i send an Email and webform to IRCC, since 2 weeks now but still no change, not even application review start

please what do you suggest i do, as regard my application and admission, do i defer the admission although i have paid for tuition deposit, could it be why my application is been delayed,

what other suggestion can i take to expedite my application process.

thank you for all your effort, also how can i contact you personally ?

Frankrobbn1:

I would advice you email them via this medium - nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca.

Also send an enquiry via webform - IRCC WEBFORM - NAIROBI

The content of the mail should state the date you submitted your application referencing your UCI and App No. You should advise the visa officer in writing that your funding letter cannot be deferred till another term. And as such you will appreciate your application be given due consideration/swift processing in order to enable you meet up with the Spring, Semester. You should also provide a copy of your funding letter highlighting in yellow link that your research is time bound. More so, include a reference letter from your supervisor in support of your visa application. At the end of the mail, thank the visa officer for taking their time to review your application and appreciate them for the success gained in your application thus far. Do this on a daily basis, you will see that your file will be attended to in no distant time with a positive result in the end. Take a bold step by getting your upfront medicals done soon i.e if you're yet to do so.

Let me know if you need further information from me.

It will end in praise

You would have to go through the CIC website sthere are list of hotels for each POE for international airports,Alberta, Vancouver and Montreal and Ontario depending on where you will be entering from most hotels have online booking click on each hotels and input the dates for the 3nights to get the rates+taxes for each hotels that's the only way you can know the cheapest for the hotels for your POE.
You can only book it 48hours before your departure date

i applied to the MA economics program at MUN but they said i dont have the requsite background to enter the program directly but was rather offered a graduate diploma in Economics at the Graduate studies of the school for an 8month-1year period and after that, i can enter to the MA program which is most likely fully funded.

i finished with a 2.1 BSC Accounting.

Should i go ahead and take it and apply for my study Visa?

Hi, you don’t need to travel down to Lagos to submit your passport at VFS because VFS is not collecting directly because of the COVID-19 situation. You will need to submit through UPS or DHL. You package your passport as well as your biometrics slip if first time applicant and a signed VFS consent form (check with Lekiboibo- not sure of the spelling for the other documents). It is advised you pay two way courier fee and also send to Abuja for a fast service, in this case you will have to pay a transmission fee of 7k+ if your biometrics was not done in Abuja and also if you are not a first time applicant.

I hope this helps. All the best.

Congratulations I should say on the offer for GD Economics, my 2 cents, accept it. It will be a leverage for your course of interest MA Economics, just that you will have to get the needed prerequisite courses in place so you qualify for your course of interest as your background is Accounting. With the acceptance of this offer, you can process your SP.

When did you apply got the course? When were you contacted with a counter offer and when is your program supposed to commence?

Hello everyone , please I need advice ?

- will I get student visa even though my undergraduate degree is in laboratory science and my work experience is in finance sector) and is not related to the masters program (health science )I applied for ?
- if I get masters admission this March , can I still apply for study permit to start classes in sept 2021? (With covid restrictions and remote learning )

Thanks In advance for your responses.

Hello NL,

MUN applicants has anyone gotten a reply

Hi,
Undergraduate students are getting response.
It's barely 8 week post deadline of my application, Sgs say I did get response between 8 to 12 weeks, plus it also depends on the faculty of interest and their deadline dates. I saw a post by Prada1 who applied for MA Economics, but was offered Graduate Diploma in Economics from Sgs. So responses to admission applicants are been worked on, be expectant.

All the best.
