*MUSLIM STUDENTS’ SOCIETY OF NIGERIA, KWARA STATE AREA UNIT* *PRESS STATEMENT* *OUR PATIENCE IS OVER-STRETCHED*! We begin in the name of Allah (s.w.t) the Possessor of power and majesty. It is with great disappointment that we write as we woke up to the gory sight of open terrorism and unspeakable violence unleashed against the peaceful and law abiding residents of the Ilorin metropolis by members of various Christian denominations and churches under the aegis of the satanic confederacy know as Christian Association of Nigeria. It is a despicable sight today in Ilorin as guns, machetes and assorted arms and ammunition wielding Christian youths and elders forcefully in the full glare and encouragement of all Security agencies violently prevent Muslim students, parents and teachers from accessing the school premises despite the government's directive approving the re-opening of the 10 schools previously shut down by government on account of the unlawful opposition to the use of Hijab by CAN.The apparent complicity and overt involvement of the security agencies in promoting and supporting the CAN led lawlessness and mayhem against law abiding Muslim youths, pupils, students and parents in Ilorin is to say the least condemnable and utterly reprehensible. It is very embarrassing that despite the several court judgements affirming the right of the female Muslim to adorn Hijab in these Schools and the government proclamation sanctioning the use of HIJAB and authorising the re-opening of these schools, the security agencies still act on the side of anarchy and lawlessness in support of these Christian fanatics and zealots. It is apparent from all indications that the security agencies can no longer be trusted to enforce the law of the land justly and equitably without bias and impartiality. It is now clear to all that CAN in Kwara has not only committed the first act of aggression against the Muslim Ummah of Kwara State but has unapologetically declared war on the Muslim Community and the state government. In the circumstances, we issue the following proclamation on behalf of the Society: We hereby strongly urge the state government to take possession of these schools and permanently drive away all criminal elements fomenting trouble and preventing our young Muslim students from continuing their learning with Hijab failing which we shall be compelled to occupy these schools and repel all these criminals to protect our younger ones, Insha Allah. We call on the state government to immediately take full ownership of the grant-aided schools from the day light robbers by changing the names of these schools to reflect their public status without any further delay. We call on the state government to immediately conduct a thorough search and investigation into the churches and other CAN controlled facilities which are being used to warehouse guns and other dangerous ammunitions used in perpetrating violence by these fanatics and bring to book anyone found culpable. We further urge the members of the Christian community to desist from the path of hostility against Islam they are defiantly following and emulate the exemplary tolerance and hospitality shown to them by the people of Ilorin over the years. Though Islam is the religion of peace, we Muslims will not hesitate to sacrifice our lives in defence of Islamic values. Also, in our assessment of the current situation, we have come to the realisation that the government is indeed jittery, toothless, cowardly, loathsome and practically powerless. What else can you say about an “owner” who cannot “possess her possessions?” It is ludicrously preponderant that a minute flowing garment can upset a whole Harmonic State with mere threats and white apparels! It will be an understatement to say we are displeased, sad and disappointed at the turn of events. In a saner clime, the cantankerous Cankerworm called CAN and its cancerous cohorts would have been arrested for flouting government directives and contempt of court. This clearly shows that rule of law enforcement is at its lowest ebb in the state. This can only mean that the executive and the judiciary in the state are canned, incapacitated and incarcerated by some “hidden forces’’ who make them jittery at every spewing of the saliva! It still beats our imagination. We cannot really fathom the thought that some of our school children would be denied their legitimate right to education while others carry on. And this is because a tiger has refused to proclaim its tigritude. What a shame! And above all, this jittery action of the KWSG has shown in no small measure that the CAN is actually above the law in Kwara State. These are people that should have been thrown behind bars for contempt of court. We conclude this release by reiterating our resolve to match force with force with any deviant Christian group who prevents our children from enjoying their Allah given fundamental rights in this city of great Islamic scholars and bedrock of Islamic civilization. *A stitch in time saves nine* Signed: Nurudeen Ibrahim Amir/Chairman MSSN Kwara Area Unit Ismail Olanrewaju General Secretary MSSN Kwara Area Unit 1 Like |

Dressings recommended by religions can be compatible with our interactions whether in the market, at work or in schools. It is perfectly compatible with love for each other and friendship. Except for those that don’t want peace in the education system and that is the mischievous CAN and their restive blind followers. 1 Like 1 Share

360degreess:Your number one problem in this life is lack of understanding. She is telling you and other fanatics, that in 70's----90's (probably, during her days in federal government school) ,there was no single Islamic female student that wears hijab. That all of them,be it Christian or Muslim ,wore berets. And the all live happily in de same hostel, heaven did not fall.Like I told one of ur fellow ignorant fanatics yesterday in de oda thread, that those women who didn't wear hijab in their secondary school days are today successful married women, public servants, political and business leaders. And they are still maintaining their Moslem faith. So wot is it nowadays with you extremists with hijab in public schools? |

360degreess: It's unfortunate that Nigerians are so concerned about foreign religions. The problem with us, why the Nigerian economy and its infrastructural development remains comatose is because we have been too much carried away by religious beliefs. We are here fighting for dress code for our students. Other nations are developing in all fields. Much of this nonsense started just few years ago when both Nigerian Christian and Muslim goes more fanatical as if our parents were not religious. God help us |

In the first place, who owns the schools? The Church or Muslims? This is a very simple issue. Missionary schools owned by Christians have said they do not want their students wearing hijabs so, if wearing hijabs is a must then I suggest the Muslims should build their own schools to enable them dress the way they want. If you go to an institution, you respect the rules that binds anyone been there. If u think the rules are not suitable for then you get the hell outta there. How do u go somewhere that has a dress code (uniforms) and insist you should be allowed to dress the way you want? See ehn, must the Muslims go to missionary schools? Why can't they get Clerics to build schools for them as well? qquote author=360degreess post=99982915].. Your religion also says women should cover their heads and bodies..See 1timothy 2:9,1corinthians11:5-6,deutronomy 22:5...But you prefer to worship your religious scholars instead of the God that created you, because those ones are always telling you about"prosperity"and other lies that you want to hear..If the Christian ladies prefer to dress half naked even in churches, and the Muslims are not forcing them to cover their bodies, why are the Christians complaining about Muslims women covering their bodies?.. Kwara State is a predominantly Muslim state, go to Rivers,Akwaibom, anambra etc.. and do what you want to do there..[/quote] |

Grgton: Missionary school but taken over by Govt. Is it the missionaries that are funding the schools? No, so Govt is the main player here, every one must comply and live by the rules. Besides, Christians are not asked to comply. We just like to make issues out of nothing....CAN has turned to something else since the days of Oritsejiofor. I pray that peace should return to Kwara state. 1 Like 1 Share |
