akoko123: I believe you and Ayokaq are refused for same purpose which is because you have applied for ordinary diploma ( my thought). I understand why you had to apply for ordinary diploma because we are in a closely related profession ( mine is culinary management) but it looks like the VO cannot just understand reason for an ordinary diploma after a degree. I was advised by gurus here to apply for pgd which I did and surprisingly, through God’s grace, I got admission without prior formal education in the field. I am still waiting for my PPR which I believe God is working out for me. In the course of my research I discovered pgd in food that people in pastry and food can apply for. Though, your SOP will have to be tailored fully in line with some of the courses as you are into baking and pastry. I think you should PM me if you are interested we can check schools for pgd and work on the SOP together, time is limited, but with God, you can still meet up with May. What God cannot do does not exist. I hope Ayokaq is reading this, I believe God will help us to find a way. 1 Like |

TANTUMERGO007: You applied to MUN for PG or UG program? Your application is 2 weeks old, pre or post course deadline? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Thaiy(m): 5:32pm On Mar 18, 2021 |
TANTUMERGO007: You applied to MUN for postgraduate or undergraduate studies? On registering you get a student number immediately your application fee gets paid and submitted. Application processing start count from after deadline date for course.....and take a couple of weeks (8 to 12 weeks) before final decision is reached. So your application is 2 weeks old, when is the application deadline for the course you applied for? If it is not yet the deadline, your application will be processed after the deadline and you will be among the first few who will get early response if you submitted weeks before date for course closure. Exercise patience as several of us are in same boat as you, let's watch and hope alive. 2 Likes |

akoko123:I understand, but unfortunately, the Visa Officer ain't seeing it that way. You did well by mentioning your first degree cos if u didn't, you would still be found out cos many things won't add up about your profile & it will easily go against your intentions of going to study in Canada e.g Educational Gap (not mentioning u had a degree), Age etc. You just have to address/tackle your refusal reasons on your GCMS notes by going for a PG program, anything you do outside the bolded VO's comment on your GCMS notes would be wrong, cos they will easily make reference to it. Hopefully someone in the same field as yours I'm this forum can guide & share his/her experience with you. |

Passport received. Sharing my journey to help others. My first application was refused last year for “purpose of visit...” I requested my GCMS notes and shared it here. VO mentioned my course was unreasonable given my 2’2 undergraduate grade, home ties and also said something about my economic and employment prospects in Canada. To address the undergrad grade, I attached IT certifications I had taken in the past that were related to my course of study, and I also highlighted (in my LOE) two courses I had taken and passed during my undergrad that were directly related to my proposed course. For home ties and employment, I added: - A letter from my church stating that I was a member of the media department. - A letter from my employer saying they would love to have me back after my studies. - A letter from my father stating his pastoral role in the church. - NYSC ppa posting and acceptance letters. - Sworn affidavit of return and an affidavit from my sponsor(parent) also saying I would return after studies. Finally, my letter of explanation addressed every single thing the VO mentioned, line by line. I talked about how me graduating with a 2’2 didn’t mean I would not be able to study the course, and that I met all the requirements from my school to be accepted to the program so me having a 2’2 was not a justifiable reason to refuse my application. I also mentioned all the work related projects I had carried out and how I was looking forward to doing more after my studies. (JustMellow and Lekibobe really helped me with my SOP and LOE). I’m super grateful for this platform and I’m glad I can give back by providing information in my own way. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Good day. Please is it compulsory to submit the IELTS when called for NSE request? Also, if one decides to submit only the bank statement, what is the implication? Please is the process of getting postgraduate visa any faster than undergraduate? because I can see lots of waiting time most especially if the school resumes soon |
