Working as a banker is stressful, I don’t have time to read, so I basically didn’t study reading and listening. Hi house, I intend to schedule and pay for my GRE exam directly on the ets website.. would y'all recommend this? I see various prices from different providers who claim to help administer the test, unlike the GMAT where you just go to mba.com to pay. Pls advise. |

Pls guys, since the GRE is scored on a 130-170 scale for both the verbal and quant section, and on a scale of 0-6, why is the total score summing up to 340 instead of 346? |

According to femi312:
There is this saying that says ''If we don't fight we have failed, but if we fight we can either fail or succeed''. So forget the tuition part for now and put in some work. First, you need to decide on the course you want to study, To save you some stress start from this website http://graddecision.org/ to know the application process, So step 1) Decide on the course you want to study 2) Search for schools using a) www.msinus.com (open this website with a laptop, you should see a list of school and ranking for some of the most common courses, you can start from there b) www.gradschools.com c) www.google.com (you can just type 'msc in bla bla in the us in google' d) www.usnews.com e) www.4icu.org . 3) check up the website of the schools you find, to see the requirements. most schools will require GRE and some will require both gre and toefl . 4) Register for standardize exam and take it. You can register for gre as soon as you are ready and prepared to take the exam. Its done online at www.ets.org. You can also get all the information you need about the exam on the website. You will get adequate materials to prepare for the exam in this dropbox I createdhttps://www.dropbox.com/sh/t9ot6d07hp1lkm7/ AADL_dTihjEvNBRCBsmAcoXja?dl=0 TOEFL is an English test required by some US universities. though, some schools waive due to the fact that Nigeria is an Anglophone country. For toefl, all you need are the speaking noteful videos in the link below, the ets toefl guide is enough to ace the exam for other sections. Just download the toefl ETS Guide from there website and the simulation test. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/45tvc3ifi8wh8sh/ AACXR5j6l3nsWK8vZx5P28TVa?dl=0 As for the Tuition, if you have good results (GRE, GPA, Toefl), SOP and LOR; US schools do offer assistanship to graduate students. This can either be Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Administrative Assistant. Depending on the school, if you get an assistantship, your Tuition will be waived and you will also be paid a monthly stipend that can take care of your living expenses. One advice, once you shortlist schools, send emails to the grad cord of the schools and ask specific questions relating to that course and funding opportunities, be very explicit. Lastly, there are basically 2 admission session in the US, Spring (Jan) and Fall (August). Schools admit more students in Fall, so Its advisable you plan towards Fall 2020.If you plan to resume in fall 2020,make sure you submit all your application documents before ending of Dec 2019 ... 6 Likes 1 Share |

akinsolaoyelola: am officially bowing out of the admission process for fall 2019 grin cheesy, what a process. I accepted an offer earlier this week.
A little about me
Undergrad: Statistics, CGPA:4.07/5, unofficial WES evaluation:3.47/4 I decided to apply for admission just in December although I have followed the thread for almost a year now. I wrote my GRE in February and prepared for less than two months: 161Q,153V, 3.0AW. Most of the requirement for the schools were met in the third week of February because of GRE but I submitted my applications before then. The admission decisions so far
Villanova University: Admitted but awaiting funding Bowling Green State University: Admitted but awaiting funding University of iowa: Rejected Georgia State University: Admitted with GA which has full tuition waiver and some stipends George Washington University: Pending Michigan Technological University: Admitted without funding American University: Admitted with some funding but was not sufficient
I was using style to wait for GWU but I have finally gone for GSU as it was the best offer so far coupled with the course: Master's of Mathematics with concentration in Biostatistics.
Fall. 2019, yes we can
Congrats!
Hi boss, I sent a Pm |

Lordsagna: Hi, I'm an undergraduate so I wanna ask is GRE score enough to get me scholarship in the US or I'll have to write IELTS along with it? and also is TOFEL and IELTS same? Firstly, in order to be eligible for a scholarship, you need to fulfill all the listed requirements. Owing to this, I would advise that you check with the demands of the scholarship body. You should also note that you will be competing with qualified and sound individuals globally, so your profile needs to be outstanding. Therefore, I would recommend that you sit for the TOEFL test if you have the means. Regarding your last question, TOEFL and IELTS are both language assessment tests, but since you will be applying to US institutions, I would suggest TOEFL, because its credibility is more solidified in the United States. 3 Likes |

Predstan:
Good afternoon Quoran and other gurus in the house. I wrote my GRE test today and I got an abysmal score and its so painful because it means I wasted 3month preparing for this test Well, I realised I was just blindfolded by my test score on Magoosh and powerprep which made me reduce my reading habit in the last two weeks of preparation. My unofficial score is 303 (Q157 and V146) but I sent the score to some schools and I want you to help scrutinize my profile. GRE-303 HND-WES OFFICIAL EVALUATION (3.59) Course of Study-Electrical Engineering RECOMMENDATIONS- 2 Doctors and 1 Mr. I sent my scores to these four schools Florida state University- hoping to apply for direct PHD and their GRE requirement is 145 in verbal and 151 in Quant North Dakota state University- PHD in Electrical engineering. A professor from there have a PhD position with full funding and I will be mailing him today or tomorrow Rochester Institute of technology-Masters Application Georgia Southern university- Masters in Applied Engineering
Please give me an advice. I am thinking of taking that test again in 21days. The only practice I need to do more is RC. That thing get as e be ooooo Which of these schools do you attend now? PhD or MS? Fully funded? |
