Which of the Romans? Is it the same one that says 'the doers of the law shall be justified', or that says 'yea, we ESTABLISH the law' or that 'the law is holy and good', or that says 'that the RIGHTEOUSNESS of the law might be fulfilled in US', or is it the romans Hadley Chase wrote?
Abi is it the Galatians that asks he the law is against God's promises, and answers GOD FORBID. Try another one abeg. Isaiah 8v20. All scripture is God-breathed and profitable. Matthew 5v19

It seems to be characteristic of you to pick portions you like and half-quote it, especially when a full quote will give a different meaning.
I need to ask you just one question: Are you under the law?
If you don't give a direct answer I'll switch off.

Paul is no where near as effective a method of confusion as religions themselves, which are the greatest tools of mass confusion ever invented. Compared to all the three Abrahamic religions, Paul is nothing when it comes to confusing man.

Travelista:

No, NOTHING overrides the law. There are hundreds of thousands of sick perverts that molest children over and over and over again, and these monsters have RIGHTS under the Bill of Rights; a parent that seeks revenge against one of these miscreants is the one that would be thrown in jail before the police even began to investigate the charges against the molester. There are people that have killed and the police and prosecutors KNOW they committed these crimes but because of reasonable doubt, these criminals roam the streets as free men and women. If the 'general good' was considered more than the process of law, there would be pedos and murderers that would have been long dead or, at the very least, plucked off the streets and locked away.

If the government decides to condemn the actions of non-American Muslims for the 9/11 attacks, they head down a slippery slope. If you can blame an entire ethnic/religious group for the actions of a few, what does that do for others? Wouldn't Christians be able to persecute Jews because they killed Jesus? How about Black Americans seizing the property of Whites that are the descendants of slave owners as a way of gaining reparations for slave labor? If anyone actually believes such rantings and ravings from the political far right will gain traction in a court of law (let alone liberal NYC), then they are far more short-sighted than previously believed.

You just answered the most important question: The laws and the application of laws are not the same. The laws say something about molestation, another law say something about fundamental right. ONE LAW OVERRIDES ANOTHER. The laws say something about freedom of association and to own property, another law says something about breach of the peace. ONE LAW OVERRIDES ANOTHER.
Oh. . . The law is always an a**hole. Proof is always nuisance. I'll watch the outcome of this with undivided attention.

The easiest way to battle his former boss is to confuse the grandest being He made - Man.

Are you sane? How on earth are you and others able to compare a country like Saudi Arabia that has a state religion with the US, where it's illegal for the government to side or endorse ANY religion? Banning the Muslims from having a mosque in Manhattan (the building is even owned by a Muslim, go figure) is at the very least unconstitutional; if the government wants to push it, the Muslims will sue and most likely win. 'Burn their petition' indeed. undecided

Sometimes politics and the consideration of general good override laws.
Have you considered general good in this case?

The law was never for the gentile.
And why emphasis on one aspect even though it's being misapplied. If you really want to keep the law why choose a verse. What of Verse 11

Deuteronomy 22:11
11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts,[ as] of woollen and linen together
.

I'd be waiting for a good reply to this comment above.
But I must add this: Neither was the law for Christians. Maybe we should revisit Romans and Galatians.

I think many people on nairaland are not smart or intelligent. they really just do like to talk and the comment above is only one of the many tiring ones. Paul is retiring only because he can't live longer than 2-3 years. Paul is a common octopus or octopus vulgaris and these have a life span of only a few years, so it's only natural he won't be around anytime soon
Just in case you don't know, it has spent a larger part of its life predicting football scores and has only got about 2 or so wrong out of 14. He only came into limelight with the world cup and its predictions during this. You can conveniently put his success to luck as the probability of getting an answer correct was always 0.5. This is sufficiently okay. If it had been much much less, you can easily expect a failure!

If octopus life span is 6 months or 8 years, does that warrant tagging my post unintelligent? What is intelligent about the announcement of retirement instead of stating that it's dying or dead, or something to that effect?
Picking fights and being too bad mannered with words is not helping your life.

nopuqeater <---- You cover too much space and can't make a single point to remember. You said Jesus asked some people to buy sword and they refused to obey. My request was that you show me where it was in Scripture or where you read it from and you wrote about 450 word without just giving a short line of quote. Haba! Let me have where you read your claims from.

As for the 10 Virgins in a parable you mentioned, in as much as I make serious effort not to use any disparaging word on a person, I can only say that you displayed laughable ignorance in your explanation of it.

You cannot know a true man of God by using your human judgment. The reason is simple, you cannot know everything about any human being. Only by the Spirit of God can you know who is a true man of God.
Even the Scripture says that the Spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, implying that we ourselves need the help of the Spirit to be convinced of our sonship. The spirit is indispensable.

Most instructive however, is the announcement of Paul's retirement immediately after the world cup.

Why? ? ?

Mysterium iniquitatis!

Octopus, in my view, did the predictions. I don't believe anyone fixed matches or any analysts predicted any match and gave the credit to an animal.
But by what power does octopus predict? I can't say with certainty but I believe its Satan that's trying to introduce an object of attention (and would introduce something else later).
But why did octopus retire? It was to draw that attention to an animal and introduce the sucker punch that it's master was reserving.

Religion / Re: Women On Trousers In The Church by precap2(m): 6:04pm On Jul 17, 2010
@Image123,
To be simple enough without offending:

1. Deut 22 vs 5 was written to the Jews. In their culture during the time of the writing both male and female wore robes or gowns. If you don't know this, go back and read again.

2. Trousers belong to the English and male and female wear it in England. If God spoke to English people it would not mean that women should now stop wearing what they have been wearing just as Jewish men didn't stop wearing the robe or gowns.

3. Pertaining to is a simple English word, but if you need the meaning, see your dictionary or google definition since you're online.

4. If we are to obey the letter and the spirit of the law with the culture, then we should all be wearing what the Jews were wearing when the law was delivered. I can only imagine how funny you'll look wearing a robe/gown.

5. If God wrote that to the Scotch, since their men wear skirt traditionally, will He also instruct their men on wearing skirts?

6. Common sense demands that we know that God was not talking about the design of the clothes, but by whatever design let men stay away from what BELONGS to women and women STEER CLEAR of whatever BELONGS to men.

7. Reason is the first revelation that God gave men, if we abandon reason then we can no longer live as human but as feathers that follow the winds.

I stop like this. Don't want to start sounding pedantic.

Maybe we need to do a lil grammar here. Can one really worship ' the status of the image'? It's a difficult construction. I think you can only worship Statue, Image, or Status but not any combination of them. Combination of any 2 of them might result in bad conjugation.

Agreed, Neither can you bring a tradition of trousers into the scripture to satisfy your urge to be the moral legislator of the world. Deut 22 vs 5 was written to a people that wear gown - both male and female.

[b]in that book of poem called the koran was a pure forgery okay in many places in the koran no one can know ho is the writer or the narrator if the came from one source i mean one body they did not need to represent the source with third person singular ,in some case you will find the word WE , OUR OR HE in one sentence referring to allah then please tell me what it's the source of that book ? then some one should tell me what is the significant of a prophet is it not the act of prophesy ? can any Muslims scholar show me where Mohammad prophesy , where Adam, Issac, Jacob or Solomon prophesy ? they called all theses people i have mentioned prophet huh

Their allah which is really one is also acknowledging that there is a higher Order of Truth which is to be ascribed the pronoun WE, OUR. It will only take time before knowledge of the Most High God permeates the entire fabrics of Islam, and their lips will all confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord of all. Halleluia!
