Nairaland / General / Things We Think We Know by Prece(m): 11:14am On Aug 05, 2016
We all hate stereotypes. Stereotypes are killing us, and they are killing our children, and they are putting LSD into the water supply. Stereotypes are like rogue elephants with AIDS that have been set on fire by terrorists, except worse. We all hate stereotypes. Seriously. Dude, we fucking hate them.
Except that we don't. We adore stereotypes, and we desperately need them to fabricate who we are (or who we are not). People need to ..........continue reading at http://www.preceworld.com/2016/08/things-we-think-we-know.html

Nairaland / General / Let's Live Together by Prece(m): 10:58am On Aug 05, 2016
Woke up early this morning in a lively mood, as I settled into my favorite chair at the "Seven O'clock" corner in my room with all voluptuous contentment, enjoying my very cool existence seducing the soft segmented grip of my pen thinking to pour out a literal venom.
The word 'Love' came to mind, though I used half of my night listening to........continue reading at http://www.preceworld.com/2016/08/lets-live-together.html

Science/Technology / Shape-shifting Touch Screens Can Morph On Demand by Prece(m): 1:23pm On Jun 04, 2016
The prototype "Cubimorph" can change shape on-demand.

Imagine if when you launched a gaming app on your smartphone, the device could automatically morph into the shape of a console. Then, if you received a text message and needed to respond, it could transform itself back into a phone.

Researchers at the University of Bristol, in the United Kingdom, have designed a device that could one day do just that. It's called Cubimorph, and it's a small, modular device that can change into different shapes, depending on the desired function or even who is holding it. Its designers say the technology could pave the way to more adaptable handheld gadgets.

The project was recently presented at the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society's largest conference, the International Conference on Robotics and Automation, which was held May 16-21 in Stockholm, Sweden. [Super-Intelligent Machines: 7 Robotic Futures]

Nairaland / General / Agriculture, A Propellant For Economy To Reach The Highs by Prece(m): 1:05pm On Jun 04, 2016
AGRICULTURE, A PROPELLANT FOR ECONOMY TO REACH THE HIGHS

Food is a god we can not avoid, the certainty we must admit is that without agriculture the economy of Nigeria may not reach the highs. The country is in a state of povertic omen, who will save who? The greedy ones who wants to encroach more from the oil sector or the less privilege whose dream is to find a means of survival? Our people are suffering, the heaven of the Nigerians seems to be closed. We have enough but we suffer alot, we have it all but will lack it all. Every nation has its own problem, but Nations around are even better if they can provide a means of feeding their people. Its time for every political hurly-burly to stop, our leaders should come together as one to bring solution to the problem of Nigeria, majorly-the economic problem, for every citizen of Nigeria eagers to survive the financial pell-mell.

Anyway, the gospel of economic salvation cannot be preached without due regard to agricultural development. Agriculture is the major and most certain path to economic growth and sustainability. It encompasses all aspect of human activities - being the art, act, a cultural necessity and science of production of goods through cultivation of land and management of plants and animals which creates an activity web-chain that satisfies social and economic needs. Agriculture is the mainstay of mankind; therefore wise nations all over the globe give it a priority by developing and exploiting this sector for the upkeep of their teeming populations through the earning of revenue for development purposes; as well as employment for the stemming down crimes, corruption and other forms of indiscipline which work against all factors of life, living and most of all economic production. While many nations in the world are working hard and reaping their harvests in this direction, Nigeria happens to..........continue reading at http://www.preceworld.com/2016/06/agriculture-propellant-for-economy-to.html
