Seun9090 have u read your welcome letter? There are 6 steps to take when u have received ur welcome letter.
Step 1 is Choice of agent.
Step 2 pay fees online at ceac.state.gov
Step 3 submit Visa application form online at ceac.state.gov
Step 4 Collect financial documents
Step 5 collect supporting documents
Step 6 submit financial and supporting documents in one package to NVC.
Instructions on how to go about it is there. The 2nd page of the welcome letter has a cover sheet with a list of all the documents to be forwarded to NVC. They will also tell u once u have gathered all the documents place that same cover sheet on top of the documents, put it in a sealed envelope and send it via mail to their address. Make sure you send everything that they need so u will not get a checklist cos that causes delays. After ur case is reviewed and ok, u get case complete.

Note: now all those documents your petitioner sent to NVC, on the day of your interview, it will be at the embassy. They will ask for ur original birth certificate just to Cross check

I remember I told pretty16 that if ones PD isn't current, one can't get IL regardless whether it exceeds a year from welcome letter or not but she kept arguing with me. I had to just surrender to her claim cos I didn't wanna argue further. I understand ur unwilling refusal to opt out when u needed to cos of ur "Oga at d top" but it's all good, ur time too will come Sis.

My brother I thought so ooo because of that that part where they said at the NVC stage it expires after 1year. And I had not seen anyone that had exceeded 1yr. It was when my mom called them and asked that they said once your case is complete, it doesn't expire. It is only when NVC contacts you and you don't get in touch with them for a period of 1yr. Pretty16, What is W-2's, check stubs, proof of domicile and IRs forms. I know what the naturalization certificate is. All i have is a copy of the forms filled i.e (a copy of the ds 260 form already filled out) after getting my welcome letter. I need to know how to xplain what this forms are when asking for them.
My petitioner's attorney helped doing everything so i basically have no idea what they are.

Check stubs is ur petitioner pay cheque. Just make photo copies of the most recent, IRS , na ur petitioner income tax returns. Your petitioner will know all this things and will send u copies as well as send NVC too. Your affidavit of support forms too. They just want to to know ur petitioner can take care of u and you no go be liability in their country. Proof of domicile na naturalization certificate, green cards etc.

Follow up on traveldoc to know when ur visa is ready for collection and u might need to download flapp app with travelstart from playstore on your phone to follow up and to know when it's cheap to book your travel ticket. Yes I printed out what's app call records , printed out pictures of me and my mom. Took photocopy of bio-data page of international passport s, police certificate, IRS forms , W-2'S, check stubs, proof of domicile, naturalization certificate. I took everything every left no stones unturned. At the end of the day my mom gave them all they needed, cos they didn't ask me anything. Only pictures of us.

Hello my peoples. I got my Visa approved today, to the Glory of God. Had a 6.30 am appointment. I was scared of using taxify cos I didn't know whether they work very early hours of the morning, so I got a yellow cab man to be in my house by 4a.m. o boy , the Cabman reach my place 2.30a.m. I say today na today. God bless him though for arriving earlier than expected. Got my kids set and we left the house at 4.10. got to the embassy to 5. Before we could say jack Robinson, na 6a.m ooo. We join queue. We were moving quickly cos I had 3boys with me, one on the baby carrier then my drama boy, ( my 3yr old) and then my little helper, my 6yr old. We got stuck in front. My 3yr old start drama. We finally entered. Got in, @ the naija section was called in to put passport photographs in passport, original birth certificate, medical report. Me way pack all my photo copies, not knowing that my mom gave them photo copies when she mailed my form to NVC. She gave them extra plus jara cos everything wey I carry them no collect 1. I just carry load go, carry load come back. Then we sat down and waited. For finger printing. Na so my drama boy start him own ooo. He didn't let his brother share his seat with him, not to talk of others, them just dey hail me, say mama boys, the Lord is your strength.
Only 2 VO's on the immigrant section 1 male 1 female. The male VO, white on window 19 seemed nice and calm. I sat across to him was watching the ppl he was questioning before me. I was like lord let this man call me. He eventually did. I went in. my boys were just playing. I just sat baby down and faced him and he asked me.

Me: Good morning Sir.
VO: good morning. Do you swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth I said yes. And then he took my finger print to represent mine and the kids.
VO: first question: how long has your mom been in the U.S , I told him.
When last did she come to Nigeria, I told him,
What did you guys do when she came to Nigeria, I told him, we went swimming, to the movie s etc. He asked which movie we saw, I said I can't remember. He said what car does my mom drive I told him.
Then he said how often does my mom come to Nigeria, I said every year Until 2015, he said ok do you have pictures of your mum and the kids I said yes. Passed him the pictures . First thing he was pics of us swimming , my mum playing with her grand children. And then he saw my step dad and asked who's The Man in the middle and I said oh That's my stepdad. And then he nodded and said oh ok by stepdad that's mom's husband , looked through our WhatsApp call records and passed it to me.
And then the question I was waiting for.
VO : what about your kids dad, I said oh my Boyfriend, and then he said your not married yet, I said no. And he said why is that, I said when my mom petitioned for me, the first thing she said to me was don't get married. The process will take longer if you are married cos she wants us with her as soon as possible. He nodded. And said I should pls give him a few minutes. He went in, after sometime he came out, and then asked me how long have you and your boyfriend been dating I said since 2010. And he said to me, your Visa has been approved. I said thank you Sir. And he passed me the collection papers and the form to pay the $220 immigrant fee.
He didn't ask for my Opt out approval letter. I think they had notified them. Cos they wrote F2B boldly on my File.
He didn't ask for any other documents. My mom had updated them with everything. As I pack the docs go, na so I pack am come back. I thank God for everything. Thanking all of you on this thread too. Welcome to the thread. First thing you need to read the guidelines on how to proceed on the welcome letter. it's pretty self explanatory. If u have any issues let is know. I think the first thing to fill and pay is the form DS261 Choose an agent form.

My dad (almost 70) was written a few months again if he would still want to migrate and that a visa number was available.

2. Will I be able to go with him (I am just below 30)

3. How long will it take?

Who filed for your dad, what category does he fall in?
If you are below 30, you cannot migrate with your dad unless you are UNDER THE AGE OF 21. Your Dad will have to File for you as a green card holder as soon as he relocates.
Note: as a green card holder if your dad files for you, the wait times is 7yrs. If you get married while your dad is a green card holder, your petition will be terminated. If your dad becomes a citizen and u get married, your petition is moved to F3 and the wait time is about 11yrs.

You should contact NVC to let them know your address has changed. Am sure they would have sent instructions on how to reach them in the letter that was sent
