Business / Re: Cashcraft - Thieves Or A Broker by Princesege(m): 10:38pm On Mar 22, 2008 |
I use cashcraft as my only performing stockbroker for now. I wouldn't want to join issues with any one on this forum. However, your experience with cashcratf, no matter how ugly it may be, does not mean it is a bad company afterall. For me , Cashcraft is good good at least for now in the following areas: 1. Prompt execution of orders( Max 4 days). 2. Online dealing/trading facilities 3. Online payment facilities 4. Online real time remittance of proceeds to my bank account(UBA/GTB) 5. Buying/selling has been good since 2000. 6. online technical analysis. 7. Functional website with latest daily update of price movement . 8. Stock analysis/recommendations.
The list is endless.
I will like to challenge anyone to match the qualities listed above with any other stock broking firm in Nigeria that has better facilities where you can monitor and track your account without the stress of making series of phone calls.
I am here in the UK and I have never visited CC since I opened my account. Their quality of service outweighs their shortcomings.
I must say though that, I regret opening account with UBA as recommended by one of the contributors on this forum. UBA does not have on line presence. I paid into their account since January to buy BUY INSURANCE STOCKS, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT TILL NOW. My money is still there with no one to hold accountable. But with CC, when I transfer money from GTB/UBA account, my stock broking account is credited almost immediatley. Also when I request money to be paid into my bank, it is done real time and money in the account the next day. So what CC is doing to me is great, their shortcomings nothwithstanding. Pls call their offic and settle your case with them. I am sure they will be glad to correct any error arising from their side.
Problems are everywhere in the world and mistakes are made by even the so called developed world. What makes the difference is ability to resolve the conflict and move on. Although, I am not saying people should not criticise but it has be constructive and not to bring down the company. Lets try to find a way of addressing our grievances without the need to bring ourselves down. If you know what it takes to set up business in Nigeria and survive, then you will appreciate what CC is doing. Pls lets stop this campaign of calumny and face the issues head-on.
I will like to open a debate on the activities of the so called good brokers like Zenith, UBA, fisrtbroker, CC, Afriinvest etc compare their services with evidence and draw a conclusion. I will produce all my transactions/dealings with CC on this forum.
I challenge everyone to produce evidence of their transactions with CC for comparism so that we can be better informed of what each broker is actually doing.
Prince. |

DVCF oil and gas is partly owned by Deap Capital and management plc, So you can safely infer that substantial part of their profit goes to Deap Capital.percentage ownership: 29%. They finance oil and Gas projects . like given money to contractors to execute projects and share the profits afterwards, They are in to other business too. That all i can remember about them.
hope this helps.
I checked their website at http://www.dvcfonline.com/about.html but there is no contact address ie physical address. Could tell me where they are inNigeria? You can do the formating without Metastock converter.
Arrange your data in the correct order and save as CSV (MS-DOS). I did mine this way. When I used the Aptistock downloader to import it, different folders for different symbols was created. Its working well.
@Man Jiro Could you please attach a sample of your findings here on this thread for proper diagnosis and testing. The objective is for us all to develop a system that works for Nigerian market. Many thanks,. |

Pennywise:
@2gd
I sympathize with you. Your frustration is almost palpable. But think about it. If a broker is certain what stocks will do well he will probably just quit his job and give directions for money to roll in. The truth is no one is absolutely sure. Educate yourself on the stock exchange. Look, listen and learn. This thread apart from being a valuable source of info also contains useful references. If you are outside the country fortunately on-line Nigerian papers abound. With this comes experience and a good intuition. If inspite of this you end up losing all your money (I am supposing it is not burrowed money-for that you will need a professional financial adviser and perhaps a doctor) nothing spoil, money goes, money comes. In the mean time enjoy the game and the suspense. A time will come when you wont trust anybody's (including broker's) judgement except yours.
I want to end this by saying that it is rather unusual for a broker to request for money before giving advice on what stocks a client should buy. If recommended stock doesn't do well when it should does he know he can be hanged (literally) for it? A lot of people do all kinds of things and get way most times thinking its all good. It can be bad for you one day.
@Pennywise Thanks for sharing your wealth of experience. I agree with you. I will also say that trust your instinct when deciding what stock to buy.Make sure you do your due diligence and research the company very well. Fortunately, most websites contain very useful information about NS market. Examples are www.cashcraft.com , www.nigeriansecurities.com.Also, this thread contains enormous info for anyone to make an informed decision. If you follow the thread and read each contribution very well, you dont need any recommendation from your broker again. The trouble is, a lot of Nigerians at home still go to the cafe to browse, so there is no enough time to make research and be properly educated on the stock markets unlike those of us in diaspora. It must be said though that all of us are learning on the trade. We are not there yet. But I forsee a better internet access very soon in Nigeria, it is happening gradually and it will get better. |

most of you banker are not talking about the poor customer service in your industry or perhaps you don't even know you are offering very poor customer service
@Princesege
I just checked my 3rd party transfer it's still not working ![lipsrsealed](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/lipsrsealed.png) if its not yet working they should just announce when it will be what's the point of telling people its working when its clearly not!
most of the banks top management boast of degrees from the best universities around the world but very basic services they can't provide
@Dis Guy Link I wonder.! 3rd party transfer is not working on my account yet. If the service is not yet working, why telling us now. GTB should Wait until system works before they adverstise. Let it be noted by GTB that we customers can not comprise quality service because this is norm here in the UK and for any serious minded corporate organisation like GTB. Anything short will amount to reneging or breach of contract. I still like GTB though but they have to wake up and stop giving untenable excuse. Customers deserve the best and GTB should do everything for the best service. |

grabdaloot:
people, I'd like to point out a few things here. You will get a better picture of the RSI when plotted against time (1 period ie 5 day or 10 day per plot so it doesnt't get messy) that way you will see the momentum of the stock. As for MACD you don't have to calculate it you know. if you plot the closing prices of a stock, right click on data point select add trend line then under the type tab click moving average there is a drop down box beside it select the number of days you want. repeat the process to add another MACD line for another period. In technical analyses charts tell a lot and they certainly tell better than tables. There are even chart patterns that when you see a the trend you can predict what direction the stock will go. for instance AGLEVENT did the converging triangle before the breakout. For more on chart patterns you can visit www.chartadvisor.com. It will teach you the five basic ones but really there are about 13 or so of them. It also talks stock supports and resistances. It seems we love AGLEVENT to death on this forum not that I blame anyone but it is one of the most undervalued stock out there. As per the question regarding brokers, I could recommend equator capital (www.equatorcapital.com) or MBC Securities. (www.mbcsec.com) both have online jobbing facilities but let me chip in some advise. Make your broker you best friend it goes a long way. Jumping from one house to another will not solve the problem just establish a personal rapport with him or her. Have a happy new year everyone
Good talk. You need to make friend with your broker, don't be too forcy when dealing with them and try to be polite when exchanging emails. I notice some of us have this notion that orders are not executed promptly so have a negative mindset before making our orders. My advice is if an order is executed find out why and what should do next time. Those guys are good you know especially cashcraft. They reply my emails and treat me well. When I need money they transfer from stock a\c to my GTB without any stress. I just transferred N150k for Xmas and new yr festivity this week. Also I transfer from my GTB to Cashcraft without any problem. My orders are executed within two days and if stock is not available, they tell me. Do make your broker a friend. Happy new year to us all. |
