Nigerian crossdresser, Okuneye Idris popularly known as Bobrisky has said he would be getting a butt lift in the United States.

He revealed on SnapChat that despite paying half of the money, he is scared of going on with the surgery.

Bobrisky is well-known for his controversial posts and statements. He had recently stated that his followers will start paying N10,000 monthly to view his contents on SnapChat.

Kano - Five people have been killed in a landmine explosion and a roadside ambush in northeast Nigeria blamed on Boko Haram , the civilian militia and police said on Wednesday.

In the first incident, at least three loggers were killed when their truck ran over a landmine outside Abbari village in the Konduga district of Borno state on Tuesday.

"The truck hit the landmine at about 1530 GMT and went up in flames, killed all three loggers on board," said Ibrahim Liman, from the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

Babakura Kolo, Another member of the CJTF in Maiduguri, confirmed the incident, adding: "The mine was obviously placed by Boko Haram terrorists operating in the area."

Abbari village was previously attacked in April, when scores of Boko Haram fighters on motorcycles rode into the farming community, killing seven men and stealing 360 cattle.

In the second incident on Tuesday, Boko Haram fighters killed two men, including a police officer, and injured six others in an ambush on a convoy near Dalwa West village.

Borno state police chief Damian Chukwu told reporters the jihadists opened "indiscriminate fire" on a convoy of vehicles heading from Maiduguri to the town of Damboa, some 90km southwest of the Borno state capital.

The dead officer was among a contingent of 58 police on its way to new postings in the southern Borno town of Askira Uba, as well as mourners carrying the body of a dead policeman for burial.

No other officer or mourner was hurt in the attack, said Chukwu.

The father of the embattled Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has spoken out in an exclusive interview and given the reasons behind his son’s involvement in the struggle for the actualization of Biafra.
HRM Eze Israel Okwu Kanu is the father of one of Nigeria’s controversial detainees, Nnamdi Kanu. He is the traditional ruler of Isiama Afara, a community in Umuahia, Abia state.
In an interview with Ihuoma Chiedozie of The Punch newspaper, HRM Kanu senior talks about the personality of his son, the reasons behind his involvement in the struggle for the actualization of Biafra and many more.


Below are excerpts from the exclusive chat:-


As a child, was he troublesome, considering his activities with Indegenous People of Biafra and Radio Biafra?


No, he was not a troublemaker. In fact he went out of his way to avoid trouble. If anything would cause a quarrel between him and anybody, he would rather avoid such a matter. He was actually peace loving and gentle. Also, he was not a person of many words, he was reserved. But what I noticed about him, as he was growing up, was that he detested injustice. He did not like to see a fellow human being victimised. He would never be part of anything that involved the persecution, or victimisation of a fellow human being. He was very straight forward and honest to a fault. Nnamdi would never see the truth and keep quiet, he would speak out, not minding the consequences.


What do you think are the reasons behind his involvement in the struggle for the actualisation of Biafra?

He reads a lot of history, he knows so much about history and I think that is a major factor. Apart from that, he witnessed how Ralph Uwazuruike (former leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Biafra) was running MASSOB then. He went there (MASSOB) and found out that what Uwazuruike was doing was not right. He called Uwazuruike aside and asked him: ‘The money you are collecting (in the name of Biafra), can’t you give some of it to these poor ones among your members so that they can at least feed themselves and their families?’ Uwazuruike got angry and asked who gave him (Nnamdi) the right to make such comments. That led to problems between him and Uwazuruike.
When Nnamdi came home to get married, Uwazuruike stormed the venue of the traditional wedding with his people to disrupt the wedding. Uwazuruike and his group came in 10 buses to cause disturbances at the venue. I was at home waiting for them to bring the new bride to me, as Igbo tradition demands, when I got information that Uwazuruike brought his men to cause trouble there. It got to a point that the youths from my son’s wife’s community rallied together to confront Uwazuruike’s boys, captured about 20 of them and took them to the police. But Nnamdi was beaten up seriously and he sustained injuries. When he returned home, I took him to the hospital for treatment. After he recovered, he swore to go ahead with the struggle for Biafra, but without Uwazuruike. He said the struggle could be successfully undertaken in a different way, without it being used as a means for self-enrichment, as was done by Uwazuruike. That was how he got involved in the struggle for Biafra.

Philomena is the mother of an undergraduate, Joy, allegedly killed in Abuja by one Alhaji Usman Adamu. The troubled woman, her lawyer and one of the teenagers, said to be privy to the activities of the man, share their stories with The Punch's Adelani Adepegba.
Tell us about yourself.
I am Philomena, mother of late Joy Odama. Joy was my first daughter and she was a student of Cross River State University of Technology. She came back for Christmas holidays before she met her death.
How did you meet Alhaji Adamu?
It was within the week on December 18, 2016, we were home that day when Elizabeth came. She is our neighbour. I know her. She was close to me and she used to come to my house. We ate together. I didn’t know she had any intention. She pleaded with Joy to accompany her to see a man that wanted to assist her with her education. She said she didn’t want to go alone. She also pleaded with me to allow Joy to accompany her and since she was a girl I know, I permitted Joy to go with her. Not up to 30 minutes, I called Joy to know if they had seen the man and she confirmed that they had met him. I asked her not to stay too long.
Shortly after, she called me that the man said he wished to know me. She pleaded that I should come and that the man promised to help her. I went and met the man. He promised to get me a job in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. That was the first time I met Alhaji Adamu.
What happened after that day?
On December 20, it was a Tuesday and I went to Karmo market. When I returned, I didn’t see Joy at home. I called her and she said the daddy (Adamu) called her to come and take care of her house help that was sick. I didn’t know the house help but I told her to come back early since it was getting late. I called again and she assured me, that she was there with another girl who is a nurse. I asked her to give one of the girls the phone so I could speak with her. She did. She gave the phone to a girl called Gift who said she was from Imo State. Around 8pm, I called her again, her phone rang but she didn’t pick the calls. I began to get worried. I went to the Alhaji’s house but the gateman didn’t allow me in. I went back home and I was restless, I couldn’t sleep throughout the night. In the middle of the night, I called again. The phone rang but there was no response. I remembered that Alhaji called me so I dialled his number, but it took some time before he responded. I tried to introduce myself as Joy’s mother but he pretended as if he didn’t remember me. He then asked, ‘Did anything happen to Joy?’ and hung up.
I called again but he didn’t respond. Before I could take any further step in the morning, two policemen came to my house. They asked after my husband, but I said, “what happened to Joy? They only asked me to come to Karmo police station to see the divisional police officer.

Death toll from Wednesday’s Maiduguri multiple bomb blasts and Jiddari Polo Boko Haram attacks have risen from 18 to 23, after emergency rescue teams evacuated 86 victims to University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) and State’s Specialist Hospital for medical attention.
Medical Director of the state Specialist Hospital, Dr. Laraba Bello, disclosed this when she took the Executive Director of Victims Support Fund (VSF), Prof. Sunday Ochoche, round to injured victims admitted in hospital.
She said out of the 32 patients evacuated from the blast scenes, two died on Friday, adding that 23 were discharged, while 29 are responding to treatment for injuries ranging from multiple fractures, trauma and loss of blood from explosives shrapnel.
Dr. Bello said that VSF has assisted and contributed a lot for the procurement of drugs and hospital consumables to treat Boko Haram victims from various parts of the state.
Earlier, Chief Medical Director of UMTH, Dr. Abdulrahaman Tahir, told Prof.Ochoche that VSF donated N30m to the hospital for the treatment of over 900 victims of insurgency in the last two years.
“We have no problem accessing the funds donated by VSF for the treatment of Boko Haram victims. We have been utilizing the money judiciously since 2015 and we have received a total of N30m Dr. Tahir said.

It wasn’t the academic discussion that was on my mind that moment, I could not just get Mrs Williams’ daughter out of my head. Did Princess even recognize me? I asked myself. Her mom must have noticed I was lost in thought when she asked ‘’Galacious, are you still here?’’ while I was sitting opposite her. ‘Yes ma.’’ ‘’Call me tomorrow. Let me know what she thinks.’’ ‘’Thank you, ma.’’ ‘’Okay dear. Good night’’ Mrs Williams ended the discussion and headed for the stairs.
