Tallis Obed Moses, a long-serving Pastor and former leader of the Presbyterian Church, has been elected President of the Vanuatu Republic in the southwest Pacific Ocean.
The 63-year-old was sworn in Thursday after winning 39 votes against his opponent, former prime minister Maxim Carlos Korman.
He replaces the former President Baldwin Lonsdale who died suddenly from a heart attack last month while serving in office.
Dan McGarry, the media director of the Vanuatu Daily Post who was at Parliament this morning, said Mr. Moses' reputation as a man of "impeccable moral character" was a decisive factor played a significant role in his being elected to succeed Lonsdale.
The Vanuatu Republic is an archipelago nation with 270,000 population. It's located in the southwest Pacific Ocean, north of New Zealand and east of Australia.

Her 76-years old husband Tony who retired from working with concrete over a decade ago has spent over £800 of his pension on tattoos of Jose’s face all over his wife’s body who is addicted to the special one.
Vivien says,
‘he’s gorgeous and every time I open the paper and see him I get gooey at the knees. The price of my tattoos has varied, I’ve had some bits of small writing done for around £60 but most recently it was £250. All in all I’d say it’s cost £800.

Nigerian comedienne, Lepacious Bose, has revealed that she made more money when she was fat compared to her present slim figure.


Speaking on Saturday, the comedienne, who underwent a tremendous weight loss program and had in the past months encouraged fat people to shed more weight and stay fit, revealed that she was well paid while she was overweiight.
According to The Nation, the comedienne said:


“I was obese for 25 years.


“I was never happy being fat and I had health challenges like my thyroids were aggravating, I was depressed, for two years I was not menstruating. I was so emotional and each time I visited the hospital, they will ask me to go and lose weight.


“Though, I was making a lot of money because it was easy cracking jokes about my being fat. Now that I am slimming down, I do not make so much money anymore. Above all, my weight loss has been an incredible journey and I am proud of the progress I have made and I don’t intend to stop.

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has revealed that he left the club upon the arrival of Jose Mourinho because he was not given an offer.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims observe a strict fast and participate in pious activities such as charitable giving and peace-making. It is a time of intense spiritual renewal for those who observe it. At the end of Ramadan, Muslims throughout the world observe a joyous three-day celebration called Eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking).


Answer : Eid al-Fitr falls on the first day of Shawwal, the month which follows Ramadan in the Islamic calendar.


It is a time to give in charity to those in need, and celebrate with family and friends the completion of a month of blessings and joy.


Before the day of Eid, during the last few days of Ramadan, each Muslim family gives a determined amount as a donation to the poor. This donation is of actual food — rice, barley, dates, rice, etc. — to ensure that the needy can have a holiday meal and participate in the celebration. This donation is known as sadaqah al-fitr (charity of fast-breaking).


On the day of Eid, Muslims gather early in the morning in outdoor locations or mosques to perform the Eid prayer. This consists of a sermon followed by a short congregational prayer.


After the Eid prayer, Muslims usually scatter to visit various family and friends, give gifts (especially to children), and make phone calls to distant relatives to give well-wishes for the holiday. These activities traditionally continue for three days.


In most Muslim countries, the entire 3-day period is an official government/school holiday.

Tanzanian President, John Magufuli has banned pregnant teenage girls from returning to school, either they eventually become mothers or not.


Magufuli, who disclosed this while addressing residents of Chalinze, Bagamoyo District in Dar es Salaam during his three-day-tour of Coast Region on Thursday, said the government funds set aside for education are meant for serious students, and not for pregnant girls.


He noted that the young mothers would be unable to focus while in class, adding that allowing them in class would encourage other girls to engage in $ex.


“After calculating some few mathematics she’d be asking the teacher in the classroom ‘let me go out and breastfeed my crying baby”, BBC quoted the president’s statement.


He said only girls at the university level are allowed to get pregnant without any penalties attached.
