@OP you are right. Someone posted a thread earlier showing/proving that the SS, SE and North-Central are actually the deciders in these elections based on correct 2011 statistics and NOT the South-West as some Buhari fans feel. Men, they attacked that OP like he actually killed somebody. cheesy

GEJ is sweeping the polls in 2015 while Buhari will be sweeping cow dung in his Daura ,Katsina compound. After all, Buhari cant live without cows according to his recent statement.

I'm actually very glad at Buhari's early aggressive campaign especially online, it has given PDP enough expo on how to finish Buhari for good and forever. Well done Obiageli, Barcanista and co.

In Russia, the Oil price drop has led to very serious inflation across board.

However, in Nigeria in spite of devaluation of the Naira, the price of goods and services have remained the same.
Inflation actually dropped in the month of November.

Is this not evidence that Nigeria's economy has made real advancement and that our food importation bill has actually dropped?

Before Goodluck Jonathan's administration. a very sharp drop in oil prices would have led to double digit inflation rates almost immediately.

Kudos to the GEJ and his economic team led by sisi Ngozi.

Wondering how Buhari would have handled this oil crisis? He'd probably call Osinbajo and Tinubu, and tell them to worry about it. God forbid.

1. Nobody is turning people against the President, the President's failure is making people turn their back against him.

2. Buhari will win 2015 and any form of insurgency, be it Boko Haram, Niger Delta or Biafra Zionist or whatever will be crushed by the Government of Muhammadu Buhari. He is not a weakling...

3. Stop threatening Nigerians, we shall collectively vote Muhammadu Buhari and the APC. If Jonathan had taken care of insurgency and corruption, his ratings would have gone higher.

People vote out incumbents when they fail or are perceived failures. Jonathan should work and stop blaming Opposition for his negative political fortunes

BUHARI will SURELY win...on the internet.

Unfortunately, Boko Haram activities such as bombings, kidnaps and their alleged seizure of territory did not stop Goodluck Jonathan's momentum as he marches on towards 2015 with good prospects of victory.

Now election season is here and Boko Haram is now waging a more gruesome media propaganda war where visuals of horrifying killings are being sent to the social media space and picked up by certain political party's online agents. These agents are comprised of Team A and Team B;

Team A picks up, shares and spreads these horrible videos on their social media networks while shedding crocodile tears.

Team B now condemns the incumbent government for failing to end insurgency and sells Buhari's candidacy to Nigerians on their network as the only alternative to this madness.

The idea is to use the emotional impact of these gruesome Boko Haram videos to turn more and more Nigerians against the President ahead of 2015 elections.

The undeniable truth is that an unwritten symbiotic relationship exists between Boko haram and the opposition, this is a fact though unproven.

My honest take is that GEJ will win the 2015 elections though his margin may not be as landslide as in 2011, but he will win.

However, if Buhari does win...many MANY Niger-Delta militants are promising to make their erstwhile militancy a child's play. These are not blind threats, these people are totally convinced that the North has allowed Boko Haram to flourish just to destroy "their son's" government. And one cannot blame them for thinking so.

The opposition has NEVER truly challenged the incumbent on their achievements or claims of achievements but rather an almost 100% focus on the Boko Haram insurgency.

Nigeria will not survive a renewed Niger-Delta militancy...not as a nation, not economically.

I had somehow expected this.

Sanusi's call to arms against Boko Haram may have offended many of the sects sponsors. Even the Sultan of Sokoto has not dared to proclaim a Fatwah against the sect, something he ought to have done a long time ago. Now ,i'm worried about the Emirs safety, especially now that he has reconciled with GEJ.

Perhaps those that installed the Kano Emir did not envisage his peace moves with Aso rock or his though stance against Boko Haram.

Politics / Believe It Or Not Today's Major Players In PDP Were Unknown 15years Ago. APC? by publisher(m): 6:59pm On Nov 12, 2014
My observation/opinion.

Most of the old warhorses in the PDP like Obasanjo, IBB, Bode George, Bamanga Tukur, Ekuweme, Jerry Gana and the likes seem to have taken a back seat and allowed New breed politicians to steer the PDP ship. Senate President David Mark, Jona Jang and a few others seems to be the only 'executive' active old school politicians still playing a forward role in PDP's top echelon

As at May 1999 most Nigerians did not know who Goodluck Jonathan, Namadi Sambo, Muazu, Akpabio,Yuguda, Metuh,Labaran Maku and several others were.

Compare and contrast this with the APC? APC also has fresh and vibrant faces that only emerged on Nigeria's political radar about 15 years ago. But unlike PDP where MOST of the older politicians have sat back and allowed the new breeds to run the party,APC is the complete reverse.

Old foxes like Tinubu, Buhari, Oyegun, Atiku,Kwankwanso, Nda Isaiah, David West and co still control the destiny and direction of the APC,while 'younger' (younger here means about 15 years or less in Politics) and more charismatic members like Fashola, Oshiomole, Tambuwal or Amaechi are relegated as political nonentities (nationally); only used as attack dogs against the PDP just to be relegated whenever concrete decisions about APC is to be made.

Imagine APC pushing the likes of Tambuwal and Elrufai to go slog it out in governorship elections? Tambuwal's case is particularly pathetic from No. 4 citizen of Nigeria, now fighting to become a governor.

Politics / Political Campaign Ads That Nigerians Want To Watch On Television by publisher(m): 3:36am On Nov 12, 2014
Source: http://nigeriabrandpolice..com/2014/11/political-campaign-ads-that-nigerians.html
POLITICAL CAMPAIGN ADs THAT NIGERIANS WANT TO WATCH ON TELEVISION.

Its Election season in Nigeria and the media is going to be one of the major beneficiaries of this political exercise. The year 1993 remains the best electioneering year in Nigeria, not just because it provided the freest and fairest election in Nigeria's history but because television campaign adverts of that era provided much needed information and entertainment value to potential voters. Those of us old enough can remember the Tom Ikimi TV Ad campaign as NRC leader where he picks up a ‘mouth organ’ (roasted corn) from a street seller; we also recall that M.K.O/Kingibe Hope’93 theme song.
Today, things have changed; the Nigerian political environment is totally heated up. The Boko Haram insurgency has not helped matters as it has further created fear and division in the Nigerian polity-elections will certainly not take place in many Local governments in North-Eastern Nigeria.
Now the question is, how do Nigerian political aspirants intend to carry out their comprehensive and impactful campaigns on the mass media without further over-heating the nation?
Several political parties and candidates have already begun to solicit the services of numerous Ad agencies and media consultants. The likely outcome of this is that most candidates are going to produce similar campaigns with lame slogans and monotonous songs.
In the United States of America, political campaigns are more intense, direct and creative. US candidates hit at each other in their media campaigns; they call out rivals and make extensive use of humour in buttressing their point and ridiculing the opposition. However, US political Ad campaigns in spite of all its creative freedom to take on opponents, there's still some high level of cordiality, control and patriotism guiding this process. Inciting comments, unpatriotic stance, use of derogatory or racially inappropriate themes are heavily frowned upon.
Nigerian politicians and their media team will do well to borrow a leaf from US electioneering campaign creativity, but again with extreme caution and patriotism. Nigerians want a candidate they can trust, a candidate they can believe in and a candidate that will put smiles on their faces when voted into office. One of the easiest ways political aspirants can put smiles on the faces of voters even before being voted in is by showing them campaign Ads that will make them laugh. Humour in political campaigns have a way of easing tensions and giving electorates a clearer frame of mind while making important decisions on who to vote for.
Theme songs and slogans are very important; theme songs that are easy to memorise yet soothing to the ears are desirable, slogans that resonate can create magic. A creative copywriter can do justice in this department.

Today, Nigeria has a very vibrant entertainment industry; this no doubt provides ready campaign resources at the disposal of savvy political aspirants. However, the culture of hiring Nigerian entertainers to merely perform at rallies or compose repetitive theme songs may not be enough. Getting entertainers to take a stand and persuade their own fans towards the direction of a particular political aspirant is key. Political candidates or their handlers should hire media consultants that can pin-point/approach certain celebrities whose persona and fan base fits into the core character or campaign promise of the aspirant(s) in question.
Branding of souvenirs is a pivotal part of electioneering campaign but perhaps it's also time politicians think out of the box in this department. Branding of T-shirts, face caps, mugs, cars and buses are common place. Now, how about something different like branded recharge cards? I think branded recharge cards has been done already, or haven’t they?
Even where aspirants decide to stick with traditional souvenirs such as T-shirts and Caps, it should not just end with picture(s) of candidate, Party logo and slogans. An effort should be made to append creative, interesting, funny or eye-catching messages on such souvenirs. Messages that can make even a political rival want to ‘rock’ or own such branded items.
Back to television, Scripting is very important; the copywriter engaged by a political aspirant should be able to create inspiring scripts that will motivate voters in other areas of their personal lives not just for the forthcoming elections. Political candidates MUST also be willing to subject themselves to crash-courses and training exercises on acting and television presentation. A great TV campaign script is useless if the politician it is meant for cannot deliver it convincingly on camera.
Hopefully, we are in for exciting times on our media space as we go into the 2015 general elections.

Politics / Why Did Buhari Jail VP Ekuweme But Place President Shagari Under House Arrest? by publisher(m): 1:50am On Nov 11, 2014
Since APC fans (like Barcanista) have successfully defended and justified Buhari's imprisonment of the great FELA KUTI, thus I'd like to hear their views on this.

After Buhari's coup in 1984 with 'corruption' given as excuse, EXECUTIVE President Shagari was placed under house arrest-never tried, while 'ordinary' Vice-President Alex Ekuweme was thrown into the harshest part of kirikiri prison.

What was the rationale behind this? If Shagari's governement was corrupt (according to Buhari) why was the principal and head of government (Shagari) not tried, convicted and thrown in jail?

Is this a sign of what to expect if Buhari is sworn in by May 29, 2015, selective justice?

Over to una...

Don't know, don't care.

Only plus in your list.

The private investors have been there for a year now and power ain't rocket science.

No.

If this is true, GEJ should be fired for this. The entertainment industry should be privately funded. There's so much to do with government money.

Am i supposed to vote somebody because he awarded a contract? Just so you know, GEJ promised to complete this bridge before 2014.

Well i don't.

To solve any problem, you first have to admit there is a problem. GEJ and his cohorts are more interested in blaming anyone and anything under the sky for their failures than accepting responsibilities.
They are also more interested in scoring political points than solving the issues.

If you are truly impressed by GEJ, then you must have really low standards or suffer from serious inferiority complex to think that out of the 170 millions Nigerians, we can't find one person who is better than GEJ.

You know, you just wasted your own time. Your answers make the word "Shallow" sound like a compliment.
