It’s pretty difficult living in Nigeria and not deal with Nigerians. How have you been able to deal with the madness?

For me, it has gotten to a point that I can not deal with the market haggling any more. Price tags, please!

I feel your pain bro.

I was but a slowpoke ran into me last year while I was parked on the side of Lagos/Ibadan expressway last year. I’m recovering from my injuries currently. I should already be back in the USA but the aholes at the embassy denied my wife a tourist visa.

Damn...!

My wife is bugging me too but .....naija sweet die! grin grin grin

To be honest, I don't want to take her with me. I'd rather take someone else. She's has to take care of business here in naija. She's the only one I trust with my investments.

I’m not proud of what I’m going to say but in my 33 years in the USA I made a total of 5 friends.

We’re just generally bad people.

Hope you get your money back. Not sure if they have small claims court where you are.

I'm sure you still remember how I was planning to relocate back to naija after 27 years in America. My so- called cousin scammed me to ship 3 of my cars to naija. I just stopped talking to him. I'm not surprised tho....I knew dealing with naija can never end with a smile.

BTW....are you still in naija?

Kobonaire4:
All in all, the agitation for Interim government shows that people are angry with APC led government

The harsh truth is that more people voted against the ruling party than for the ruling party. The ruling party won because the opposition vote was divided. They should sit up and do better...

the constitution of Nigeria says that you have to get at least 25% of the total votes in at least 25 States. Let's say Obi won all 100% votes in the SE + SS + Lagos = 12 States. What make you think Obi will have 25% of the votes in SW + NE + NW + NC ? Those are 24 + Abuja.

The problem is your failed to realize the truth. You also hate to admit the truth that an IGBO man can not be a president of Nigeria with this attitudes being displayed right now. To become a president, you have to negotiate power not taking it. That's why they call it democracy.

What does an IGBO man have to negotiate with NE + NW + NC+ SW going by the history of Nigeria?

I think it's only fair to let the Igbo have Biafra, otherwise, what's the point of IGBO being part of Nigeria?

Anyone from SS stand a better chance to become Nigerian president than an IGBO man and I don't think it's fair either. Going be the history, honestly Igbo don't stand the chance at all.

The first coup plotters just messed it up for the future IGBOs.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Find A Job Or Start A Business, Which Is Better? by Qc1(m): 10:57am On Mar 30, 2023
livingstone2013:
Why? Is there a reason you made the decision to abandon 8000 dollars salary for a business that doesn't fetch you much?

My naija job might not be fetching much right now due to naira crunch. However, I've made ₦900k in just one day before and just because of this reason alone, I believe that the prospect is magnificently favorable (over $8000/months) to me.

Remember, it is never how much you can earn but it's actually how much you can save. There are differences between the two.

Good luck.

My job(s) in Canada pays me $8000/ month which is about what a make in my own business annual in naija.

Guess what? I relocated to naija to explore the full potential of my business. In case you're wondering, I'm a Canadian citizen.

Now...ask yourself some serious questions! WHY? grin

I honestly still don't know why Igbo people refused to develop their Igbo nation rather than going to another man's land and start dragging the governorhip candidate with them.

I just don't get it.

Igbo man will never rent you a shop in their own village. All of a sudden you're using Yorubas tolerance against them? Are you kidding me? Have you thought about the aftermath of this nonsense you're insinuating? Thank God that all this is online, it's still going to be online in twenty years time as a reference for that's about to come towards your ingrates attitudes.

Just imagine!

Oga if you’ve not been to both countries or atleast live in one of them please keep your opinion to yourself. There are many reasons Canadians are moving to the US and I believe it’s not because of what an Okoro living in Nigeria that only hear sweet tales about Canada think. The US dwarfs Canada in almost everything except for lesser gun violence. I detest the way Nigerians overhype Canada.

If you truly live in either countries, you would have never said that. NEVER!

When you say the USA is miles apart from Canada what do you mean? Asides economy which USA is obviously heads and shoulders above any country on earth, there's little to no difference between the US and Canada. Infrastructure, education etc.. I see the level of development and I don't see much difference.. If you are blindfolded and dropped suddenly in a street in Canada and your blindfold taken off, with someone telling you where you are is USA, I don't think you would doubt or argue. Same too if you are taken to Canada and you are told it is USA, you won't argue. This is cos both countries are similar so I don't know what you mean by miles apart.. Maybe in terms of military might and economy which wasn't what I was talking about in my previous comment

If I'm blindfolded and drop in any city in either countries....I will watch people attitudes and body language immediately. Canadian are nicer and more friendly.

Lagos state GDP is $33,679,000,000 (2022)

VS

Malta GDP is $17,190,000,000 (2021).

I decided to use Lagos for comparisons because Malta is a very small country of just 517,000 in population. It's not how big or how small a nation is, but how well it governed.

Change start with you and me!

Do you regret the decision?

Not really. I left Nigeria in 1992, I think I've had enough. Moreover, my wife was (and) still living in Nigeria. It was a tough decision to let go my job, not because of the money but because my service will be seriously missed for a while and I had the best boss in the world at that time. It was tough to break the news to him.
