unclecycs:
The issue of Unemployment to me is a very terrible form of cancer that eats a person slowly and progressively and if not God on time with some form of intervention by way of a job etc, such an individual if not careful will most likely deteriorate more or less become a shadow of his/her real self.
I say this using myself as a particular example because my life ,i am convinced, is a classic example of a man who has hit rock bottom due to unemployment and literally digging further down through the rock bottom as it seems like life isn't exactly done dishing out disappointments to me.
this will not be the first time i will be posting an article as regards the subject of unemployment and it wont be my last even if i eventually secure some form of gainful employment because i consider myself a really tough person and this one singular problem has really shaken me to the point i have all but lost hope.
Briefly, i am a petroleum engineer , Graduated from FUTO 2010/11 with a Beng 2'1, finished service 2012 and have remained jobless to this very minute, in retrospect i have to admit much of my problems was caused by me because maybe i was just too over confident, i was making decent grades and i was sure i wouldn't ever have a problem securing employment ,or maybe i was just unwise and at worst plain stupid. there had been a few opportunities ( say about 2) during service where i could have gained employment in a bank and maybe because i am just too fixated in an engineering job or maybe i am just not wise enough, i never really took any of these opportunities serious.
in effect i still think the problems i am facing now where caused by me and me alone because somewhere deep down i know i have what it takes to succeed in any of these 'majors'

i think if i have been to approximately 20 different job aptitude test/scholarship exams ; Akwa ibom at least 5 times Porth Harcourt at least 11 times , Lagos at least four times and i reside in calabar so one can already imagine the financial implications a well as kilometers traveled and in all this i have only made it to the second stage twice after which i crash out.

I have to mention i did an offshore safety training *(cost me money i hardly had) , hoping to get a job in Lagos cuz i was promised one only to travel to Lagos to be interviewed and i was told i could not be taken .

the worst part is the psychological/physical deterioration that comes with constant worry , the depression, the loneliness, right now i only receive a phone call from just one person, a girl am with and that's it.. i had to deactivate my Facebook because i was quite tired of going in there and seeing picture updates of my friends doing pretty well and i look at my situation and feel like a complete utter looser.
the saying that failure has no friends and success has many friends is indeed very true.. tested and trusted.

My parents (thank God i still have em both around) always try to encourage me ,telling me i should never loose hope that my time is coming but i cannot help feeling i have let them down cuz they had pretty high expectations as regards me.

So this is it, a man close to 30 with a degree , little or no relevant working experience and broke as they come. well dear friends its not over until you find yourself in a "strange land' with only angels walking about so till that time one must try never to give up

for those who have jobs and are in a potion to help , please help those you can , each one teach one and before we know it brick by brick we would have built a formidable wall against unemployment.

Again thanks to the op , i always love an opportunity to share my experiences , maybe somebody out there will learn from it.
In everythin we stil thank God... Count ursef lucky cos u stil av parent nd girl that show u love, My own case No parent, no girl, no friend, just my fone and God. am even loosing confidence in walkin up to a girl sef, cos am tired of lying that i work in dis nd dat nd nt able to afford 1k for her transport...

Getting a job could be so frustrating and depressing. I remember the days of my joblessness, so many times, I had blamed hubby for my jobless status. Like, if not for marriage, I would have still be in the bank bla bla bla. In other for hubby to survive my perpetual nagging, he surprised me with a Placard on our gate *Buy your cold kunu here* lol. He said to me, 'Baby your kunu taste really good, why dont you give it a trial'. I was like, what? He was like 'Too late, its on the gate'. Before I knew it, people started knocking my gate for kunu. I couldnt tell anyone I was selling kunu in the north but I was never broke. Hubby was relieved, no more nagging lol. There are also days that no one comes to buy kunu. Men and Women around mocked me. I was called a Kunu seller. What do I do when Jobs around were offering 8 - 10k monthly. I prayed and fasted for my status to change. I was hopeful that God has heared me. To God be The Glory, I'm not employed by anyone, I'm self employed. To the Glory of God, My status is Changed #GodWin. From kunu seller to an Agro Allied Owner with its offices in Sokoto, Lagos and a Ware House in Ogun state.
Op, I feel moved to help 5 persons here. I dont have money to give, but I can give what will help secure your future if willing and determined.
Please JUST 5 SINCERE PERSONS WHO FINDS IT REALLY DIFFICULT TO SURVIVE.
Thank you.

I just pm u ma, i think am d first person, am willing nd determined....

Guys...it can only take the grace of God to pass that test. Asin u don't need supervision from workforce, u don't need any mercenary to impersonate u, u can only compound ur problem by bringing more people to assist u in solving the questions. My little advice is go write the test, do the ones u feel u know provided they don't take much of ur time, guess the ones u don't know, say JESUS... and submit. Cos the time runs at the speed of light
pls is the test link sent to everyone thesame thing? how did ur test link looks like? Mine aint responding oooo, tho na sat be mine bt just wanna make sure everything is working perfect before i role up to d exam hall.......lol

Romance / Husband Scarcity... A Must Read!!! by quincie(m): 12:17pm On Dec 25, 2014
HUSBAND SCARCITY!
This may not be the best time for me to write on
this because of misinterpretations, but I can no
longer resist the push. "Husband Scarcity" has
become one of the challenges faced by many
young girls today. If you go to prayer houses,
majority of the intentions are prayer for a life
partner. And this calls for concern. Casting our
minds back to the time of our mothers and
grandmothers, was there really much of a
"Husband Scarcity" problem? Or, maybe there were
more men than women then, or there was an
adequate corresponding numbers of both genders.
I don't think so. Maybe then, the women had
values and were prepared to build a home and not
park into a built home. Then, once a young man
comes of age and can at least feed himself and his
wife, he goes out in search of a wife and the
woman really appreciates him and helps him to
build a future. What am I really trying to say? We
created what we now see as "Husband Scarcity"
for ourselves. Today, the reverse is the case. Ask
an average girl to define her dream husband; you
get things like "he has to be tall, handsome, fair,
and rich, own a house at least, and be
presentable" and then she adds "God fearing" in
order not to sound so worldly. Then, check the
number of girls around you and the number of men
that meet that standard, and you will see the
problem.
You hear girls say, "I cannot suffer in my father's
house and then go and start suffering with a man."
What a wonderful dream! What if from the
beginning, you have everything you want and
there is no suffering, and later in the marriage, the
table turns around, then comes
suffering? Will you run away? No one prays for
suffering, but it is good to start small and end big,
than start
big and end small. The problem is that the
description majority
of girls give of their ideal man is virtually the
same. When 50 girls want the same kind of man
and the man that fits what they want is just 1
man, and the man can only pick one. Then, what
becomes of 49 others? They simply start lamenting
of "Husband Scarcity".
Another irony of our time is that it is hard,
due to the face of our economy to find a man
who is of marriage age who possesses all those
things these ladies want, legally (except those
involved in Internet fraud); even the number of
those in Internet fraud is not enough to match all
those searching for already made husbands.
If you look around, majority of the ladies of
substance, of good value and virtue, who are ready
to build a home with a man who has prospects,
are married and not complaining of husband
scarcity. The easiest way to find a husband now,
is to change your view of who a husband is. A
husband is that man God made and then saw that
it may be hard for him to really actualize his
purpose for making him, without a help mate and
then made the woman and gave to him, and he felt
complete and fulfilled. MARRIAGE IS NOT A
POVERTY ALLEVIATION PROGRAM. It is a mission
of building the family of God here on earth. For
those who see marriage as a way out of poverty, it
is a way into bondage. Women are HOME
BUILDERS, not HOME WARMERS... DON'T
CONFUSE A MAN'S PATH WITH HIS DESTINY.
Where he is today, may only be a route to where
God has destined him to be tomorrow. Another
truth is that YOU MAY BE THE ONLY FAST MEANS
TO THAT HIS DESTINATION. Join in alleviating
"husband scarcity". PICK UP THE RIGHT VALUES. I
am not saying that you should pick anyone that
comes your way and talks of marriage, not all men
are husband materials. What I am saying is that
you should stop setting your standard on material
acquisitions or physical appearances. Look beyond
the physical. WHAT MAKES A MAN WHO HE IS, IS
NOT WHAT HE OWNS OR HOW HE
LOOKS, IT IS WHAT HE IS MADE UP OF.
And that which he is made of is, most times,
not seen with the physical eyes, only its
effects can be seen.
Marriage is a permanent thing. Whatever is
seen is temporal and that which is not seen is
permanent. Relax and go to God in prayer. God did
not just make Eve for making sake; He made her
for Adam's need to be met. God
did not make you for making sake either (unless He
has a special calling on you), He made you to meet
a particular man's need.
AND THAT MAN MAY BE THAT ONE THAT
DOESN'T FIT INTO THAT YOUR "EXHOBITANT
STANDARD".do not despise or look down on any
man
cos,it doesn't take God a second to turn around
someone destiny,a man can be very poor by
december,then God
bless him to be very rich by January. But never
marry a man without a confirmation from God,so
that u can confidently run back to him
whenever satan wants to rise his ugly head in ur
home.
