Alright! You can rest now!

Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist. Matthew 11:11

Even Jesus too was born of a woman o!

See Wisenheimer, see the entire verse below. Chrust obviously was not including himself.
He said John is the LEAST. Do you ever see John say anything close to that about Christ?

Don't mind them
I'm very sure the govt is going to issue court order to stop a second strike. They should have negotiated while strike was going on

Ok, is there a law that says there'd be no court order durring strike??

I didn't say Jesus didn't say trillion's of words! A normal 33 year old preaching around for three years should have.

My question remains where did Jesus tell you he died to save you and that you must believe in his death to be saved!

Read your Bible. It's all over the new testament

And why did Jesus say a similar thing about John the baptist?

Na mutual respect!

Just as I already know - you know nothing of the Bible. Christ never said any such thing
Religion / Re: 3 Of 10 Questions Christians Won't Like To Answer by QuinQ: 2:05am On Jun 09
AntiChristian:

This is unambiguous!
What did John the baptist do?
What did other Prophets do?

They all lived and died for people to repent from sins and worship the one God!

The life of a Prophet is already a random for many!

Jesus is not an exception!

See the full questions again!

So why did John the Baptist, acclaimed one of the greatest prophets, say he was not fit to untie the shoe of another mere prophet??
Religion / Re: 3 Of 10 Questions Christians Won't Like To Answer by QuinQ: 1:55am On Jun 09

Show me then?

Christ must have said trillions of words. Only a tiny fraction was recorded. People who were with him have told you the upshot of his message - he came to die for sins of those who'd accept him and accept he died for their sins.
And you're here asking what exactly??

a lot of adult couldn't sing the old national anthem or didn't know the correct wordings, is it now the new one they will now know how to sing. What helped a lot of us learn the old one was because it is usually sang in schools every morning. It will be very hard for a lot of people to sit down and start learning the new one except they hear it regularly.

You forget the new one is the old one

People like you who suffered from cranium rectum inversion are easily detected. Old anthem was written by a British lady and that was why it was changed to Arise Oh! Compatriots.
It is hard arguing with nonentities. Please rest.

Illustrates exactly what I'm saying. You choose the best anthem regardless of who wrote it. That's how progressive, intelligent people roll. The very name, Nigeria, was coined by a Brit!

Anthems has a way of motivating people and lifting spirits but this new anthem nor just follow.
No wonder we didn't win

OK, see it below. Post "Arise oh compatriots" let's compare. What is compatriots??

Great anthem indeed. Here it is:

Nigeria we hail thee,
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,
Nigerians all, and proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.

O God of all creation,
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.

Pardon me, but you were sounding drunk. Do you know that anthem was picked by NIGERIANS after a WORLD-WIDE competition. Of course they'd have loved a Nigerian to win it, and wouldn't want especially a Brit to win it, but it was just the best by far!
That's what you get when you remove narrow-mindedness, parochialism, nepotism, tribalism, racism, and do things by MERIT!

Bros see as them take throw away Buhari and Emefiele new money na so them go throw this anthem. This anthem doesn't inspire at all. Listen to the old item. What is is more endearing and compelling like Arise O! Compatriots. Nigeria calls obey.
See during football matches when this anthem is raised the moral of our players charges. Even you watching u feel that patriotism of Arise Oh! Compatriots.
This old new one is a Catholic song.

You must be out of your mind. How can you compare a mediocre anthem to a genius anthem, the best anthem in the world. It is short yet says it all, starts with the name of the country, and has a commandingly uplifting tune

A great anthem indeed. Here it is:

Nigeria we hail thee,
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,

That is how another person will do it easily. It is not when the people are not interested. See the day Tinubu leaves this anthem leaves with him. He likes the old anthem no wahala.

You have to understand 3 things. One, by the time Tinubu leaves office people will be used to this anthem and start saying we should face serious problems instead of changing anthems. Two, quite a few people like the anthem. Three, NASS will be divided in the future and won't be dominated by one party as now

What's the logic behind the death of Jesus for the sins of Mankind?
And did Jesus ever tell anyone to believe in his death to be saved?
Who benefits from the death and how will one benefit as stated by Jesus in the New Testament?

I'd assume you're humbly asking because you don't know.
God used to require animal or other sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins. Sacrifice of Jesus absolved humanity from having to do that anymore
Jesus DIED for your sins IF you accept he died for your sins.
Those who'd benefit from his death are those who accept him into their hearts and believe he died for their sins
Religion / Re: 3 Of 10 Questions Christians Won't Like To Answer by QuinQ: 4:39pm On Jun 08

Maybe you wanted to type "And my answer is:"

John 3:16 does not not say we should believe Jesus's death to be saved from our sins!

I hope you're not drunk. This is a drunk person's talk.
The Bible is NOT to be taken one verse at a time, but all together. If you have even a cursory knowledge of the book you'd know that to be saved you accept Jesus into your heart and believe he died for your sins.

Question 3
[color=#000099][b]If Christ died for the sins of mankind, then by his sacrifice we are all sinless. On the cross and before his death he did not specify any

And your question is?

John 3:16 (King James Version)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Politics / Re: How Is Minimum Wage Calculated ? by QuinQ: 5:10pm On Jun 07
23Ju:
The minimum wage increase only affects your basic salary. Note: basic salary is just a fraction of your tatal salary. You can get the basic salary from your pay slip. If the basic salary is 48,000, old mw is 30,000, new mw is 70,000. % increase=((70000-30000)/30000)×100 =133.33%
133.33% of 48,000 = (133.33/100)×48000=63,840
63,840 is now your new basic salary.
So, your new salary will be 63,840 + sum of other components of you former salary.
This was also the template i used when it was moved from 18k to 30k and i received exactly what i got from my calculation.

Minimum wage is by law. Please, on what law are all these calculations based? See my comment above
Politics / Re: How Is Minimum Wage Calculated ? by QuinQ: 5:06pm On Jun 07
DaddyCoool:

There's no calculation at all. Never mind all the nonsense you've been reading.
The law simply says you can't pay lower than a certain amount. THAT’S ALL!
Any other salary above that is by negotiation - what you're willing to accept and what the employer is willing to pay

Another nonsense

Exactly.
I don't know where all these calculations are comming from nor the basis for them

I don't know why I find this strangely funny cheesy..

I know because it has to do with the Whites now, so a lot of you would type the usual gibberish. Let me quickly remind you of what these so called Caucasians did to our forefathers in the name of slavery. Till date, our artifacts are everywhere in their museums. The royalty in England is supreme, but when they came, they placed our royalties under their government (even below a local government chairman). To that effect, we see how governors are trying to mess with our royal fathers; a nonsensical misbehaviour they (governors) won't try with the throne of England for any reason..

How much is $5million, when compared to their atrocities against us (do you know how much their companies like chevron, shell, to mention a few are milking from south south, leaving the inhabitants with water and air pollution?) Abegi undecided...

Soo, why do you revere and enrich traditional rulers and obas, whose ancestors directly did worse to your ancestors?? Besides, vast majority of whites, their ancestors had nothing to do with slavery

Same thing I’m thinking.

They just need to adjust the words slightly and remove archaic terms.

Funnily enough, NIGERIANS use the word ‘tribe’ daily and with reckless abandon, but are complaining over the use of ‘tribe’ in the anthem.

Who's talking about pronunciation?
You don't know what this talk is about.

I'm obviously not just talking pronunciation. Language is by usage in all ramifications. Whatever the vast majority of people mean by a word, becomes it's meaning in that location, and their dictionary will shortly update to reflect that

Ha ha ha. But I am a man.
Thank you anyway. You are another one here who fully saw the many good reasons why president Tinubu quickly went for dumping of that bloody and continuous call to war National anthem of military dictators.

Well, on Nairaland we use man and woman interchangeably. Some monikers are male in the morning and by evening they become female grin

Not only is that other anthem bad, the "hail thee"anthem is GENIUS - the best anthem in the world in my opinion
