Family / Re: Am I Spoiling My 7-year Old Son? by Qurungu: 12:05pm On Mar 09, 2022
I was praying a few months ago and suddenly I felt like the Spirit of God telling me to bond emotionally with my kids.

I got the message. Being a dad, I had priorly acted and likely thought (without me being conscious of it) that my only job was just to make sure my kids turned out right, and that the way to achieve that was through being the a disciplinarian. How wrong I was! I began to play more with them and do things I know they liked. I now want to make sure we have beautiful memories together.

I knew that God wasn’t telling me not to discipline them, no. It’s just that in an atmosphere of emotional bonding, correction is taken in good faith.

I also realized that day that if I didn’t bond with them, I will never be able to help them when they need help, because they’d have grown up thinking that I didn’t care, and so they’d never let me into their innermost struggles or joys for that matter.

Bond emotionally with the kid, and correct him as needed. They way you’ve described your kid, if this goes on, he may have difficulty forming emotionally stable relationships which may lead to all sorts of problems and/or him being drawn to abusive people or him abusing others as the case may be.

I really hope you get to read this. You are not alone in this, and you will win eventually, as you do things right.

For all you know, other kids at school may be taunting him and you may then come across like them when you scold him at home. They may maybe be telling him hurtful things like encouraging him to be nasty at home.

The way to short any of the above possibilities is to keep the door to his heart opened to you by being friends with him. That door must not be closed!

And if you have issues with his dad, please keep them out of it and settle these issues when they aren’t there.

Thank you, God bless you ma.

They were doing this where I once lived about 2 years ago. They mostly steal electronics. In one case, a man was watching his very large tv and they came in and stole it while he slept, with the remote control in his hands.

When he woke up the next day, he began to press the buttons of the remote but no television.

They also stole my neighbor’s inverter batteries that way.

Some people say they bring a rope from the grave yard and lay it across the gates/doors of their victims and carry out their theft without any one waking up. Some others say it’s this strange powder. No one has ever been caught.

The area had to meet and employ a private security company to help with security.

If the children can enter the car it means the car was unlocked. If the child lock was on it means the back doors of the car cannot be opened from the inside. If the children know to open the door from the outside it means they know how to open it from the inside. If they somehow didn't know .... they will know to blow the horn. If they don't know to blow the horn they would pound on the windows to attract attention since the was in the front yard. In these times children are smarter than you think at figuring out such stuff. Children dying in locked cars under the sun happens all the time... but 8 of them? This is no accident.... it is homicide.

If children can enter the car, they will also likely play with the steering wheel. If they play with the steering wheel, they will likely try to open the front door as soon as they feel trapped.
I feel there may have been a 3rd and unknown actor who took advantage of the circumstance or that they may have inhaled or ingested a poisonous substance used in the car.

As per the asphyxia explanation, I’m not sure I lean towards it because a bad car will not be air tight. Most cars aren’t.

It is also possible that with the constant sunlight, dangerous fumes were released in the car.

I agree with you, and I have another question to add: “how does a person die by just sitting in a car”?

My theory: It is likely that a yet to be known external force acted on the kids OR that the car is contaminated with some kind of lethal poisonous substance which the kids may have inhaled or ingested, maybe rat poison, or sniper used to protect the car from rats or other rodents.

All said, just sitting inside a car cannot kill a person.

It’s a global feminine tendency. The female of almost every species is the more jealous and less generous one.

Not all women are that way however. There are generous ones.

Another problem is that some women seem not to realize that there is a distinction between home and office behavior. Many often conflate both. They behave bossy at home as if they were in there office.

Home is where you let your guard down. Office is where you can be the boss.

Trust me, our forefathers know a lot about this subject than we do in our age.

I believe you don't really love this girl, maybe there's something at the back of your mind for marrying her. I pray I never meet your type of man to marry in Jesus name.

We picked a wedding date and you donated what you can afford, brought your people from your village with a coaster bus to ask for my hand in marriage. While in my place I have a lot of family friends extended family friends that a train of 300 seats cannot even contain. The cake and rice you brought can't contain them and my own dad decides to celebrate me big with my wedding. He got a lot more of foods, drinks, souvenirs to share and you have a bitter heart at him for celebrating me cry cry.

Should friends and family at my wedding be served stones if what your funds can afford for the party is not enough. Or shouldn't I be celebrated perfectly as a true child of the family? You better appreciate your father in law for making the wedding much more beautiful as we will look back at how the wedding went and it will be a good talk on our lips for years to come.

I, I, I, I, my, my, my, my.

If you feel worried, then follow your instincts and pray.

I feel there are things you didn’t write that may be fueling your concerns. The only way to win is to pray. I feel also that you may instinctively feel that there may be danger ahead.

One important rule to live by: “don’t get into the habit of ignoring your instincts”.

“..is any afflicted? Let him pray”

Prayer will help you sort out any bend that may be on your road in the future.

Hello Nairalanders..

I am a bit confused right now. I have two remote jobs currently, they both pay me 200k and 150k salary respectively. These two companies have been existing for over 3 years so they have built up structure that one could trust a little over time...

I recently applied for another full-time job, it's a startup that is just moving from ideation phase to implementation. And they are offering me 650k salary a month even though I told them my salary expectation is 500k a month. I will be working 2 days onsite, 3 days remotely.

I am enticed by this new salary and at the same time, my current jobs have built structure that I can trust.

Not to even mention that I occupy a very important position in these two companies: though not a big deal.

Please i am just confused... Just finanlized everything with the company’s management team.. I am meant to resume next two weeks.

Hold all three.
Test them for a month or two.

Make a decision thereafter.
This may be a call to increase your capacity.

Religion / Re: Can A Born Again Christian Be Possessed By Demon? by Qurungu: 2:36pm On Oct 03, 2021
greencard:
Is it possible for a Christian who is born again to get possessed by demon?

No where in the Bible is there a suggestion that a born again person can be possessed by a demon.

However, the Bible records that a born again person can be demonized.

Simon the sorcerer became born again but was still demonized. There are other examples.

In essence, a born again person can behave like a person who belongs to the devil because they allow the devil influence them. It doesn’t take away their salvation, but it does cut them short and makes them unuseful to themselves and to the body of Christ.

These will likely be the examples of people who make it into heaven naked with no reward.

One of the only thing Buhari has gotten right. You try!

Twitter made itself a tool for subversion of nations. The world will be a mess if every nation followed the trend of organizing riots via social. They need to exercise restraint.

Burning a country down just because you do not like it’s leader is not really smart. Compare what Ipob now does.

Buhari is a poor leader, but only few nations remain stable after violent take overs of power.

At least employ her in a better job, that way you’ll protect her further from poachers.
Good thing she fell into your arms (in the grand scheme of things; could have been in the arms of a worse man).
She’s only one vulnerable woman, but saving one is significant.

The ideal thing would have been not to fall for the pressure your friends put on you by agreeing to do what they suggested. I kind of feel you would have given her the account with no string attached if you let things progress naturally.

But I’ve also learnt that God is in the details of life. Have you asked “why she chose you”, and “why she stuck to calling you”? It shouldn’t have ended the way it did but it may have been an inspired relationship all the same.

Can there be redemption?
Yes.
If the feeling persists, then explore that relationship. It may lead to something beautiful. If it doesn’t, at least get that girl out of that place to a better place and get your account out of there too!

But from my years of investigation,i found out that Oduduwa was Igbo man banished from East by the Umunna. His really name was Omekitoro.
He was the last born of three sons of a man called Afunwa.

What happened is,because of envy and Wickedness,He killed his two older brothers because he want to inherit all their fathers properties.

He killed them in their father's farm claiming that they were attacked and he was lucky to escape, not knowing that a palm wine taper was ontop of palm tree near by and saw all that happened.

When his evil act was exposed, the Umunna and village concluded that his action deserves death.his father pleaded for his life, which made the community to give him punishment of banishing.

Omekitoro went and settle in todays south west.Because of his evil act,he was no more proud of his Name.So when asked about his Name,he will tell you Odudu nwa.

Which means last born.

Odudu means last/Tale in Igbo.

Nwa means chld in Igbo.

Odudunwa means last born.

Celebrities / Re: Timi Dakolo: Two Good People Can Have A Bad Relationship by Qurungu: 4:49pm On Sep 09, 2021
Mmadu2:
Whoever disagrees with this guy on this matter is still far behind in knowledge and understanding.

Not so. What do you understand by good? If it’s a Bible based definition, then two good people will make the best marriage. If your definition of good is based on say, wokeness, then you’ll get into ambiguity and begin to call bad good.
Just because a person doesn’t steal or isn’t adulterous doesn’t mean they qualify for marriage, for example.

Christian marriage has its rules, which two people should agree to follow before they tie the knot.

Now when a part or both parts of the couple isn’t meeting the Christian standards for marriage, the union will likely collapse.

Here’s the caveat: a “good” person will keep or at least strive to keep the rules.

When they don’t (I speak in the context of a Christian marriage), I’m not sure you can call them good. This is because, marriage is a part of our general faith and faithfulness to God and man.

It’s similar to this, when a praying or preaching Christian steals for example, people don’t call them good.

In principle however, divorce or stealing do not make us lose our righteousness or passport to heaven as Christians.

These can rob us of God’s best and the beauty of God’s best. They also soil our testimonies and weaken people’s conviction in Christ.
(The number one reason why marriages fail in my opinion is a wrong choice of a partner; you cannot go anywhere with the wrong person but can go almost everywhere with the right one).

The Name Above All Other Names (By Keith Moore)

There is a name above the heavens
Higher than names of earth
It is the name that brings deliverance
It’s the name above all other names

O it’s the name above all other names
It’s the name above all other names
And before it all must bow
Every wicked one come down
For it’s the name above all other names

There is a name above all sickness
Greater than all disease
It is the name that brings healing
It’s the name above all other names

O it’s the name above all other names
O it’s the name above all other names
And before it all must bow
Every wicked one come down
For it’s the name above all other names

Thank you!
