Health / New COVID-19 Variant Named ‘IHU’ Discovered In France — Stronger Than Omicron by Readability: 8:29am On Jan 06, 2022
Scientists and experts in France have reportedly identified a new variant of COVID-19 termed ‘IHU’. The new variant is said to be a more mutated strain than Omicron.

Nearly 12 cases of this new variant have been reported near Marseilles and has been linked to the African country Cameroon.

The B.1.640.2 or IHU variant was first identified by the academics at institute IHU Mediterranee Infection and contains 46 mutations, which is more than Omicron.

New COVID-19 variant named ‘IHU’ discovered in France — said to be stronger than Omicron

While the world is grappling with the outburst of the Omicron virus with a very high transmissibility rate, scientists and experts in France have reportedly identified a new variant of COVID-19 termed ‘IHU’. The new variant is said to be a more mutated strain than Omicron.
According to media reports, nearly 12 cases of this new variant have been reported near Marseilles, and has been linked to the African country Cameroon. But, the Omicron strain is still dominating in most parts of the world.
The B.1.640.2 or IHU variant was first identified by the academics at institute IHU Mediterranee Infection and contains 46 mutations, which is more than Omicron.

This new variant can be a major threat, however, the cases have not been reported so far in countries other than France and is not labelled as ‘variant under investigation’ by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
According to a paper posted on medRxiv, the strain carries the E484K mutation which can make it more resistant to vaccines. It also has the N501Y mutation — first seen on the Alpha variant — that experts believe can make it more transmissible.
The scientists say, “these observations show once again the unpredictability of the emergence of new SARS-CoV-2 variants and their introduction from abroad. And they exemplify the difficulty to control such introduction and subsequent spread.”

Philippe Colson, the head and professor of the department at IHU that discovered the variant, said, “ We indeed have several cases of this new variant in the Marseilles geographical area. We named it 'variant IHU'. Two new genomes have just been submitted."

Renowned Epidemiologist Eric Feigl-Ding, on Twitter, said, “The mutations have caused “Fourteen amino acid substitutions, and 9 amino acid deletions—which are located in the spike protein.”
He further added, “ There are scores of new variants discovered all the time, but it does not necessarily mean they will be more dangerous. What makes a variant more well-known and dangerous is its ability to multiply because of the number of mutations it has in relation to the original virus.”

Please I need anyone who has used other African countries' home address to seek for admission into schools in Germany.

I applied for a graduate study in one of the schools in Germany and I was given an admission recently. The thing is, I used an address in Cote d'Ivoire because of the reluctance of most German schools to give anyone coming directly from Nigeria an appointment.

I want to please know if I will need to translate my documents that I will present at the German embassy in Cote d'Ivoire during the time I will be processing my visa

Go to travel section, you'll get your help there.

Politics / Breaking: Gunmen Strike Again, Kill Two Policemen, Set Vehicle Ablaze In Anambra by Readability: 6:06pm On Dec 20, 2021
Breaking: Gunmen strike again, kill two policemen, set vehicle ablaze in Anambra
UNKNOWN gunmen have allegedly attacked a police checkpoint at the Obosi Interchange along the Onitsha-Owerri road in Anambra State, killing two policemen and burning one patrol vehicle.

An eye witness said about 10 policemen were at the checkpoint at the time of the incident.

According to the eye witness, there was pandemonium during the incident, forcing the policemen to vacate the scene, thereby clearing the checkpoint immediately.

It was also gathered that before the shooting incident, traffic gridlock in the area was almost stretching to about two kilometers.

The eye witness said: “The traffic almost got to Upper Iweka Junction. At a point, it became a no movement situation on both lanes of the road.

“I was in the traffic when we suddenly heard gunshots and before you knew it, everybody, including the policemen, started running. They shot two policemen dead and burnt their vehicle.

“The place was brutal yesterday . I think their targets were the policemen who mounted a checkpoint, which caused a horrific traffic situation on both lanes, made worse by the ongoing road construction in the area”.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ikenga Tochukwu, who confirmed the incident said two policemen were killed.

“What happened along the Obosi Idemili flyover is an example of the price we pay as police officers in service to the nation and humanity.

“Three of the armed men were demobilized, while two police personnel paid the supreme price. The police also recovered the rifles of the slain officers. A Lexus SUV, one of the operational vehicles of the armed hoodlums was also recovered. The operation is still ongoing. Further details shall be communicated.

“The Anambra State Police Command is firm and the personnel are more motivated in providing security services until the current security concern is reduced to the barest minimum and overcome,” Ikenga said.

I live with my girlfriend. She has been staying with me for a year and 8 months now. Sex was perfect 3 to 4 times a week.

But ever since she started working sex has become a problem. She will make excuses that she is tired that her back is hurting or headaches. For 3 weeks no sex. She doesn't care at all and we are living like roommates and yesterday was worse.

I was in the mood for it and she bluntly refused so I had to force her. I ripped her pant but she didn't give up she scratches me on my face. I slapped her so hard out of anger. I didn't mean to and I left the house for a few hours. I apologised for forcing her and I told her I am not going to leave with her anymore if she will not give me sex. I asked her to leave so my next babe can move in she said she is leaving in 2 weeks.

Note I don't have any other babe except from her and I have never cheated on her before. I love her a lot she is my life but I just don't like her new attitude.

What do you think I should do for her to be happy with me and give me sex without a fight because I don't want what had happened yesterday to ever happen again in the future.
Bro, honestly you did all this just to have sex with a woman? I'm disappointed at the act of a fellow man like me. I mean, this is uncalled for to say the least. You have your hand and if you can't fap, you give her time. You don't have a choice, it's her body not yours. Why don't you understand that it doesn't have to do with you, she could be going through stress like she said and this is the best you can do to comfort her?
I get it, I'm in the same situation as you mine has been more than 2 months now, with no explanation from her. All she said is, she needs a break. Bro, no allow this kind thing do you again, nah person pikin she be too ooo. And you can't take it if such is done to your sister or your daughter. So, be careful and pull her close, apologise to her and promise her never to do such again. No be everything be gragra for this life ooo. You know what a mention means right? I assume you already know that. So a dead thread means a non active thread, that has no comments, and no more view, mostly on a boring section like radio or webmaster so to keep people from checking the message. So when someone quotes you on a dead thread, you check your mentions, and you see the person's response.

Your 3 million is about $5000 so you will only be left with around $3k when you remove ticket fares and the mandatory Covid tests.

Don’t waste your money unless you have a reliable family or friend over there who can support you until you able to get under the table job to do. Bro it is very difficult to relocate abroad these days with tourist visa unless luck is on your side.

Please don’t get me wrong because I know some people still do it. My junior one just relocated about 6 months ago and is doing good compared to when he was in Naija. He has saved over 750k naira since he relocated. I believe he is able to do this because he has friend to accommodate him for close to 2 months before he gets himself together. Now he lives on his own by renting a room from someone.

Another way is to use school to relocate.
Pls bro, which country did he migrated to? And what route did he use, I mean student visa or travel or tourist? Help me out with this info pls,yiu can quote me on a dead thread too. Thanks.
Travel / Fleeing Passengers Shut Down Busy Spanish Airport by Readability: 11:31pm On Nov 06, 2021
Palma de Mallorca: Fleeing passengers shut down busy Spanish airport.

One of Spain's busiest airports shut down for nearly four hours on Friday after an apparent attempt by migrants to enter the country illegally.

A plane flying from Casablanca in Morocco to Istanbul, Turkey, was diverted to Palma de Mallorca after a medical emergency was reported aboard.

When the jet landed, 21 passengers ran off across the runways, reportedly escaping over the perimeter fence.

Police later made arrests but 12 were still on the run on Saturday.

Police are investigating whether the group's escape from the plane was spontaneous or an elaborate plot to immigrate illegally.

The top Spanish government official for the Balearic Islands, Aina Calvo, said the event was unprecedented for a Spanish airport.

The title might seem unpatriotic, but not entirely so.

Quick story

In 2018 I sold an SUV to a friend at 3.5m, he paid 2m and said he would balance up in the future.

Fast forward to 2021 October he pays me ₦1m with a pending balance of ₦500,000.

Vehicle sold in 2018 is now ₦5.3m in 2021.

Lesson learnt.

Going forward all transactions that have to do with pending payments will be signed as dollar equivalents .

Meaning if you want to take a loan or owe me large sums of money E.g ₦1m (sept 2021 2,433.5799 US Dollars) all we will do is check current dollar rate and peg repayment on the dollar equivalent in the future (2,433.5799 US Dollars)

The end

Way to go bro. My brother borrowed me 500k in the month of May this year, due to be paid year ending. I know the money would be chicken change by then, because I bought dollar with it at the rate of 487 and traded it for SOL at $15. We all now dollar's 560+ now. grin grin grin grin

Politics / Oyo APC Crisis: Buni Meets Stakeholders Today by Readability: 6:47am On Nov 05, 2021
THE caretaker/extraordinary convention planning committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally seized the initiative to intervene in the crisis trailing the state congress conducted last weekend in Oyo State.

A party source told Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday that Yobe State governor and chairman of the caretaker committee, Mai Mala Buni, had invited chieftains of the party to a meeting scheduled for today.

At the end of the congress held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium last Saturday, former commissioner for land and housing, Isaac Omodewu, emerged as the chairman.

The congress, which was twice postponed, was, however, boycotted by certain chieftains of the party in the state.

Among those who boycotted the congress were Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare; chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande; Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin; the 2019 governorship standard-bearer in the state, Mr Adebayo Adelabu; former Secretary to State Government, Sharafadeen Alli; Dr Azeez Adeduntan and Mr Joseph Tegbe.

Others were Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Niyi Adeagbo, Mrs Folake Oshinowo, Gbenga Olayemi, Kola Olabiyi, Wasiu Owolabi, Ambali Abiodun and Olalekan Kazeem, among others.

A party source told Nigerian Tribune that former Oyo State governor and chieftain of the party, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, met with Governor Buni at his private residence in Abuja last night, ahead of today’s meeting with stakeholders fixed for the party’s national secretariat.

Politics / The Man Femi Osibona by Readability: 6:34am On Nov 05, 2021
Olufemi Adegoke Osibona otherwise called Femi Fourscore was a native of Ikenne in Ogun state.

He had his primary school in Lagos before moving to Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State for his secondary education. He then proceeded to Croydon University in the United Kingdom to study Business and Finance for his HND.

Osibona started shoes and suits business in 1991. By 1998, he stopped selling shoes and suits after nurturing a property he purchased in 1997 to a profitable venture. From there, he ventured into building construction.

Osibona was quoted to have said: “I also noticed that many Nigerians at that time were reluctant to go into construction but I believed anything was possible with God on my side.”

Osibona established Fourscore Homes, a real estate development firm. He said his company is a member of the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) in South Africa and Zurich Building Guarantee in Europe.

“We have exhibited our expertise in property development in the United Kingdom, South Africa, the United States of America and Nigeria. Fourscore Homes possesses uncommon capabilities in redefining property development in any market we choose to play in,” he was quoted to have said.

The sexagenarian is said to be the first African developer to construct a seven-storey building located at 113, Albion Drive, London Fields, E8, 4LZ, in East London. He then moved to South Africa in 2009 where he built six luxury units of houses called Fourscore Mansions in Waterkloof, Pretoria.

Osibona said in an interview: “I was one of the people whose real estate developments led to the growth of East London. I bought a house on New Cross Road and renovated it. I also bought a piece of land behind it and built two flats there, and that is what I will call my first real estate project. That was how I started building houses for sale. Renowned Juju music maestro, Ebenezer Obey visited the property when he was in London.”

According to him, the 360 Degrees Towers in Ikoyi, the ill-fated structure, was designed to be the first of its kind in Nigeria and the structure “will give peace of mind and comfort to the residents, because everything works”.

Osibona told a television station that he built over 50 projects in London and Manchester and from there, went to South Africa to build a number of estates.

“In all the projects abroad, we buy land and develop and I am the builder, I don’t engage any builder. I was in Atlanta for only four months before I decided to buy land. It is the same procedure in housing development and if you have done it in one country, then you can do it in another because it is the same principle,” he said

Osibona was a member of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) and a lover of the pulpit.

For him, the collapse of the building in Ikoyi was not the first time his structures will suffer damage. In his talk with CelestialOvation Talk Show, Osibona narrated how four of his 24 flats in Atlanta, Georgia, were razed but the incident turned out to be a blessing for him.

In a viral video recorded on July 4, 2021, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) London, said Osibona came to him for divine consultation on where he should take his investments to after listening to his teachings on salvation and wealth creation.

“After listening to my tapes, he built 12 apartments in London, sold eight, kept four. Then he came to me again and said, ‘pastor Matthew, lay hands on me; where should I go again?’ After I’d laid hands the first time, he said ‘where should I go again? I want to go to South Africa; please pray for me.’ I prayed for him.

“Ladies and gentlemen, he went to South Africa and built 125 houses in the highbrow area of Centurion, next door to Johannesburg. He broke through exponentially.

“Then, he calls me and says: ‘where are you, sir? I want to come to you.’ I said ‘I’m in Ghana preaching’. He jumps on a plane and flies to Ghana from South Africa. He comes and says ‘where should I go again?’ I said, ‘look, I’m not your financial adviser. Go and meet your financial adviser.’ He said ‘you’re doing better than them.’ So, I laid hands on him, prayed for him and I said ‘go to Nigeria, your country’.

“They call him Femi Fourscore. Femi comes to Lagos, boom, he buys a land in Ikoyi and builds 40 apartments and sold each one for like a million dollars.

“As I am talking to you right now, in fact, this morning, Femi sent me a video. He’s building I think three towers together on Alexander. We know Ikoyi. One is 14 floors, one is 16 floors, one is 21 floors.”

Ashimolowo confirmed that Osibona used to sell shirts and ties in Abuja.

“This guy used to sell shirts and ties in Abuja. I just told you he supplied me. He didn’t even have the shirt and tie; he went to others to get for me during that crisis journey. Now, he has three towers. I’m even wondering who should be laying hands on whom,” the pastor said.

Politics / Udom Emmanuel - Nigeria’s Diversity, Our Greatest Untapped Asset by Readability: 6:05am On Nov 05, 2021
Nigeria’s diversity is one of the country’s greatest untapped assets and strengths for national development, peace and progress, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has declared.

The Governor who stated this on Thursday while delivering a lecture at the Arewa Media Interactive and Development Forum held at Arewa House Kaduna said, the country must rise to this reality and fortify those foundations with the bricks of faith, patriotism and love as Nigeria needs new foundations to confront the challenges of today since Nigerians are inherently united.

According to Governor Emmanuel, “for decades, the drumbeats of our Nation have filled and seared the ears about the fragility of our unity and the elasticity of the tolerance of our diversity. Some have prophesied the imminent demise of our Nation, so many scenarios depicting the coming Armageddon have been pushed, prognosticated and predicted. But in all of these, our Nation still remains intact. Though the contours of our unity may not be straight, though the lines of development may be zigzag, the tone and tenor of our discourse discordant and divergent, but the soul, the spirit and the identity of our Nation remain sacrosanct. And on this, all Nigerians of goodwill have come to a solid agreement”.

He noted with admiration that Nigeria is a nation that is diverse, and beautiful as a coat of many colours as what tends to divide us should bring us together.

Hear him, “Is it tribe, is it language, or is it food, or is it dance or is it religion? Take, for instance, the consumption of kola nuts. Few know that it is grown in the Southwest, used for prayers in the East, and consumed for recreation in the North. It comes to life among the Yoruba, gives life in Igboland and is lively in the jaws of the Hausa man. In the same way, a lot of our onions come from the far North; it enriches Ofe Nsalla in the East, Ewedu in the Southwest and Afang soup in my house in Uyo”.

Continuing, he said, “We quarrel over religion yet when a big business deal is hatched, no one asks why Ahmed praises Allah and Adewale shouts Hallelujah. Both of them are smiling at the same bank.

It was the same country that built a marvel of a pyramid from groundnut in Kano. Experts came from Malaysia to learn about palm produce in the South-South and South-East regions, respectively.

And cocoa underwrote the prosperity of the Western Region. Oil was in the backdrop then. It is same Nigeria, the same tribes, the same faiths, the same language, the same historical backgrounds, the same geography. So if I may ask, what changed?”

He noted that Nigerians were glad when the late Maitama Sule orated on the floor of the United Nations and rejoiced when Wole Soyinka won the Nobel Prize for Literature, advocating for more unity despite our diversity.

“In the rougher days of Boko Haram, the militants burned Churches and Mosques, and they slaughtered Muslims and Christians. Who were the soldiers fighting to save the whole of the country? We did not say it is a Northern fight, so no Southern soldier should go there. It was not a Fulani soldier or an Ibibio infantryman.

It was the Nigerian soldier. When bullets are fired it does not bear a message on what tribesman it should fall. It hits a human, a Nigerian whatever the name of his God or the tribe or language he confesses”, he declared.

He noted that the country still has more diversity than unity, questioning what happened to Nigeria where a Southerner can win an election in Kaduna, or a Fulani man could win an election in Lagos?

In his words, “We have had it in the past. We can have it again. I am sure that a good number of those listening to me now must have heard of Umaru Altine, a Fulani man from Sokoto, who was popularly elected as the first Mayor of Enugu in 1952 and he stayed in office till 1958.

The Western Region House of Assembly also had an Igbo man, Emmanuel Ebubedike, from Ozobulu in present-day Anambra State, as the Representative of Ajeromi/Ifelodun/ Badagry Constituency. We can point to several other examples”.

He regretted that efforts of some founding fathers at laying a solid foundation for national unity and cohesion have been destroyed as what we see nowadays is a country where ethnic champions drive the narrative, and the cacophony of discordant voices makes it difficult for us to hear ourselves. “This has been given expression in the numerous calls for restructuring, resource control and even an outright division of the country along ethnic and tribal lines”, he stated.

Governor Emmanuel explained that several reasons have been adduced for this state of affairs as many individuals and groups have taken umbrage at the over-centralization of power at the centre, perceived marginalization of some parts of the country as these are sore points that give a fillip to the agitations for balance and equity in the country, warning that we cannot afford to run a country where some parts of our country feel marginalised or left out of the scheme of things as this is a potent threat to the unity of the country. “We must ensure that there is equity and justice and that no part of the country is made to feel less of itself as this will definitely not augur well for our union” , he admonished.

He blames most part of the nation’s current problems on the elite, stating that the Nigerian elite stokes the hate between one part and another. “ And we are seeing them in the debate over VAT, restructuring, zoning, herdsmen and these are not too difficult issues to resolve. VAT calls for fairness between us. To restructure is for all to feel like the brother’s keeper. It ensures we all eat from the same pot and no one goes home hungry or deprived. Zoning means abiding by a formula that works for all ”, he x-rayed.

He noted that it only takes the people to sit at a table and cross-fertilize ideas, with patriotic give-and takes. “There will be no zero-sum game. The part will become the sum and the sum will be like the part. The equation will be complete. As former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said,? It is better to jaw than to war-war. But if one set must take everything, we will always remember our languages, our tribes, the aroma of our mother’s soup. Hate then replaces love, and handshakes will move beyond elbows”, he stressed.

According to Governor Emmanuel, as a way forward, Nigerians must sit down and talk to themselves, rather than talk at themselves.

We must listen to understand, rather than listen to respond. We must build bridges of unity rather than walls of division. We must realise that every part of our country is an equal stakeholder in the Nigerian project and work actively to harness the best of our diversity for the good of our country.

There must be a level playing field and equal opportunities for all Nigerians, irrespective of where they come from or what language they speak.

“Development plans and projects of the government must also be spread evenly across the country so that a sense of fairness and justice will permeate the land. We must take deliberate steps to integrate ourselves and unify the country. One quick step we can take in this direction is a little tweaking of the format of the National Youth Service Corps. This was one of the instruments designed to unify our nation but which hasn’t quite achieved this purpose. I suggest that we make it mandatory for States to retain a certain percentage of youth corpers in their public service every year. This way, we would create employment and state civil services would be more multi-ethnic as unity is a creative process”, he advocated.

He advised that the situation where any part of the country is denied commensurate benefits from resources harnessed from that part will only further alienate the people there and weaken our bond as a country, noting that the leaders must work to restore hope and confidence by actively ensuring that there is a sense of belonging and inclusion imbued in our citizens.

“Far too many of our compatriots identify more with their tribe and ethnic group than with our nation. We don?t need more Ibibios, or Fulanis, or Igbos, or Yorubas, or Ijaws, or Hausas. What we need is more Nigerians!” , he admonished.

Religion has always been a joke.

Pastors and religious leaders know this.

Reason they're brazenly carrying out their church and mosque business employing all

manner of antics to boost their profit margin and empires.

While their gullible followers look forward to meeting Jesus in heavens to receive their

mansion or Mohammed to receive 72 virgins in paradise.

It's a good thing more people are getting to see through the joke called religion.
Humans went from polytheism(old gods), to monotheism(Allah, Jesus, Yahweh), the next line of evolution is atheism (no God). cool[color=#770077[/color]

Politics / 2023: PDP Governors In Deft Move Against Atiku, Saraki by Readability: 4:56am On Nov 01, 2021
• Forum pushes to produce party’s candidate

By Emmanuel Oladesu, Deputy Editor on November 1, 2021

After successfully installing members of the National Working Committee (NWC), governors elected on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are set to produce the party’s presidential ticket, it was learnt at the weekend.

This has put the ambition of three major contenders – former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former President of Senate Bukola Saraki and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, on a shaky ground.

At the convention, which ended yesterday morning in Abuja, the governors showed their dominance by installing their favourites in the key positions.

It was learnt that Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom tipped Iyorchia Ayu, who is the national chairman-designate, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s candidate Taofeek Arapaja defeated candidate of party’s elders, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, to become the Deputy Chairman (South)-designate, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike produced Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the national Secretary-designate.

The PDP governors are pushing for a consensus presidential candidate from among their rank, it was learnt.

The governors have also resolved to fortify the PDP Governors Forum as the most formidable and influential bloc in the opposition party ahead of the presidential nomination, a source said.

The source, who pointed out that the 13 governors have taken over completely the party structures by installing majority of the members of the National Working Committee (NWC), added that they also want to produce the presidential running mate.

The plot by the governors may put more hurdles on the path of other presidential aspirants, including Atiku, Kwankwaso and Saraki.

Although former Senate President and one-time Secretary to the Government of the Federation Ayim Pius Ayim has unfolded his presidential ambition, it is believed that PDP will zone the ticket to the North, having sealed a pact with National Chairman Iyochia Ayu that he would step down after the primary.

PDP governors said to be interested in the presidential ticket are Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal and his Bauchi counterpart, Senator Bala Mohammed.

Giving an insight into how governors of Rivers, Enugu, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Bayelsa, Abia, Benue, Oyo, Bauchi, Sokoto, Taraba, and Adamawa and Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, took full control of the party, the source said the move was to completely reduce the the influence of the party’s founding fathers.

He said the plot to dominate the party was evident in the way the governors policed the voting at the convention, gave instructions to delegates and constantly exchanged notes among themselves throughout the event at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

Also, for the first in the history of the opposition party, all the machinery necessary for organising the convention from the zoning committee, convention committee, and all-sub-committees, were headed by the governors.

The source said the governors ensured that their loyalists were nominated for the key positions, which they achieved by consensus among themselves.

He added: “In the three cases, which were decided by voting- deputy national chairman (south), national youth leader, and national auditor)-the candidates on the unity list drawn by the governors won.

“Thus, Samuel Ortom of Benue sponsored the national chairman, Nyesom Wike of Rivers sponsored the national Secretary, Seyi Makinde of Oyo provided the national deputy chairman (south), and Aminu Tambuwal provided the National Organising Secretary.

“The only non- serving governor who produced a high-ranking party official is former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki, whose candidate, Kamal Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), is the National Legal Adviser.

“Ajibade is the first senior advocate to be elected into that office in the history of political party administration in the country.”

The source added:”The governors probably conceded the crucial position to Saraki, who himself is a former governor and one-time chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, because of the respect they have for him and the good relationship he maintains with all of them.

“The implication of all of these is that PDP governors will most likely also decide how the presidential candidate of the party for the 2023 elections will emerge next year and who he will be.

According to the source, “the governors displayed cohesion, focus, unity, dedication, and camaraderie in the manner they conducted the election of the new NWC of PDP.

“They are doing this for a purpose. The ultimate end is to decide the presidential flag bearer.”

He stressed: “From the interaction and body language of the governors, two options are likely to be considered by them. One is to make one of them the presidential candidate or to produce a candidate who though might not be a serving governor, but must be in their age category or one of their peers. They will want a candidate who they can relate with after emerging as president and who will not feel too big or paternalistic in his disposition towards them”

Party insiders also confided at the weekend that the governors have resolved that the presidential ticket should be zoned to the North while the South should produce his running mate.

The implication, said the party source, is that no Southern PDP governor will join the presidential race.

He said if the governors succeed in their plan, the likely running mate are Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, or his Delta and Enugu counterparts, Ifeanyi Okowa and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

While Ayu, who was thrown up by the governors, is conversant with the governors plan, a source close to him said his immediate assignment is to forge reconciliation in the party.

“He is now the link between the old and young members of the party and he may want to bridge the gap and rekindle confidence between them,” said the source.
