My thoughts: Ambode was too enraged with vendetta that he did not take time to tap wisdom from Fashola on what he did, who he used, how they did it and key performance focus areas to have made Lagos the exemplary reference under Fashola. Governing a dynamic, multifaceted and multicultural State like Lagos requires understanding of Strategic Project Management principles, collaboration and effective coordination. Ambode must align from where Fashola stopped. Weed out Fashola's excesses; and consolidate on Fashola's strength. Efforts to lean on Tinubu and discard Fashola's gains will set Lagos back by 8 years. It will be tantamount to reinventing the wheel from a retrogressive approach as against a proactive measure. 1 Like |

onlinebizinfo: Well said. In my opinion, there are two views to this fight against corruption. The first being addressing corruption in past governments; and the second abating the culture of corruption impunity to forestall monumental corrupt practices moving forward. I think the former will be tough with the ethno-political sentiments being whipped by the electorate. I am however certain quite a number of past corrupt public officers will be punished. I strongly believe the latter can be achieved with the attitude of the incumbent President in deference to tolerance for zero corruption. Lastly, I am not sympathetic towards Okonjo. If the anti-graft agencies deem her culpable, she must dance to the tune. The summary of my understanding of her lecture is that the media awashed Prime Minister under Jonathan has alluded to the existence of a "group of the corrupt" in the last administration. This is a good reference for those who are hell bent on defending corrupt officials of the last government. |

What I learnt: Be diligent and passionate at what you do. Everyone acknowledged the erudition of Alhaji Lai Mohammed. Despite him throwing satirical jabs at the opposition Senators, he was accorded the respect to bow and go. First I have seen so far. Kudos Alhaji. Nb: Alhaji walked wobbly. I hope he is well enough! 54 Likes 2 Shares |

This Alhaji someway thrills me. Impressive CV to match his sociopolitical intelligence. Finally his counterpart from the other fallen tongue party will get a new playmate. I'm sure he would feel a bit jealous that his debatemate is being promoted to another class while he remains in the same class. Staying in the same class with no hope of promotion for 4, 8, 12, 16 or ever, can be destabilizing. I see him getting tired and resigning. Price for failure really. It is well with him. Nb: I hope this will be the last time the President will appoint most of his Ministers from the set of 1970ish graduates. Some of us who are younger have impressive CVs with more recent, ultramodern and contemporary experience. |

Two key acknowledgements deduced from the article: 1. She affirmed that once the leader takes decisive actions in deference to one sector, the message is felt across others - "body language" 2. She hinted that her returning to the government the second time may have been 'unwisely'. Somehow smirked of innate regrets with how she has been associated with an alleged overtly corrupt government of the time. My thoughts: I think it is only those who have decided to remain completely obdurate and adamant with their views that will not give an iota of support for the ongoing efforts of this government to abate corruption. I strongly believe that in 4 years, the questions our friends of other nationalities will be asking us will change from "how come a feckless hat wearing leader is governing over intelligent Nigerians" to "wow, you guys are so lucky with the President you have. We wish we are as lucky as you" ![]() 90 Likes 6 Shares |

Bollinger: Well said. History also has taught us that when the terrorists' ideologies have exceeded negotiating limits, we nip it in the bud by matching it with requisite response. Reorientation is the technique to forestall growing the terrorists human resource base and reintegrating the affected people. All in all, we wish terrorism in the worled will be quelled. 1 Like |

Stunned ![]() Is it wrong for Mr Oshiomole to bring to public domain the reckless spending of the last administration? Is it wrong for him to give a clarification when misconstrued? I contribute significantly to Pension Funds monthly. I am equally concerned with every iota of news on the subject that will guarantee that the contribution is aptly being managed. His explanation on the relationship between judicious use of invested Pension Funds in Government Financial Instruments and Time Value of Money is spot on. My views though! 1 Like |

[quote author=TonyeBarcanista post=38786074] What are you saying? Are you in trance? Where did you see the emboldened? [/quote You seem offended. Don't be my friend. The emboldened you referred to is my posit on your decision to deactivate your previous account on NL to progress your opposition on other platforms, and returning after a short while with a new identity which now has a prefix appended to the previous ID. I hope you now understand. Just my opinions though. ![]() |

TonyeBarcanista: Barca my man. I am not wishing for PDP to collapse. I am worried that the expected opposition is damn too watery (with respect to expended efforts so far) to keep APC at the central government on its toes. From the news in the media it seems the party has collapsed already. The ex-president is always busy carrying nylon bags of baffs from stores abroad or busy smiling at camera when he should be defending the policies of his government. His ex-ministers no longer bark in response to allegations. Others are busy being disgraced abroad. At home, the official spokesman is no longer as active as he was in the first 100 days. And you the lead spokesman on NL has changed identity with back and forth behavioral dispositions in less than 6 months. All is obviously not well with your party. I wish the party quick recovery if you say it is yet to collapse. As I always tell you, I belong to no party. I belong to the party of objectivity. ![]() |

Mynd44: Doyin trepidated when he said it. He knew the fecklessness and recklessness of his boss will lead to the death of the party. He had no choice but to massage his oga's ego. I do not think PDP has a leader to lead them further. Their leaders will rather seek for bread crumbs from the enemy than stand firm. My opinion though! |

With the gale of nonstop defections by supposed PDP top hierarchy members, and continuous exposee of monumental corruption by past high ranking officials, there will be no modicum of party representatives left to forge a formidable opposition beyond a boring expression of hate, vile and misinformation. The party even finds it difficult to keep its workers from exposing the rot within the crumbled organization. The tales of internal conflicts bothered on mismanagement of party funds were splashed across all forms of media barely 2 months after the party's shameful conduct at the polls. The party's national spokesperson seems to have lost steam too. He now sounds like a mix of sound from a toy store - "directionless". Obviously, money was the past motivation for the little noise he made under the last administration. I was also baffled to see a spokesman of the party here on Nl throw banters about who should take the glory for the ongoing investigation of a former minister. Should this be the primary concern of an evolving Nigerian youth? I expected for once, the collective focus will be how to get our stolen commonwealth back. By 2019, I forsee google even forgetting the party ever existed. The elections may not be as exciting as the 2015 elections. Beyond elections, we duly need a new opposition Party of intelligent people who are sagacious enough to keep the ruling party on its toes to forestall complacency. My 2 cents! 4 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista: Na real wa for you my brother. I am oblivious of whom you are venting all these unwarranted expressions of anger for. Whether Nigeria assists the Uk or not, the koko of the matter is that an ex-Minister is being tried. It is that pretty simple |
