Who is talking about war?
You know them. Who is interested in getting power at Nigeria's centre? The politicians. An Ijaw man was Nigerian president for close to six years, yet his region is still at the mercy of the 'born to rule'. IPOB is talking referendum and freedom. Not war and not the presidency. Threats of war, propaganda and blackmail will not work. Thanks.

This is 2017 and not 1776. I know quite well that the igbos are marginalised in this country today, infact I dont like this country called Nigeria one bit. But there is a saying that goes "Apoliticism is self defeatism", what am I trying to say? This ipob members will gather and insult everybody who does not share the same fanatical ideology with them. They will curse their brothers and sister and even their parents. I never knew for one day that igbos insult people this way but recently I have been seeing very unpleasant printed words from us. Even if the south south ethnic groups doesnt follow us, then, you will need to have them as friends because having them as enemies will be one of the worst decision ever made by ipob.

That is your personal opinion sir. That is if at all you belong to the region clamouring for Biafra. The vast majority from the region both home and in the diaspora want Biafra. When we get to that bridge, we shall cross it sir. Thanks for your opinion though.

Please stop talking like a typical african who is waiting for a problem before thinking of a solution. Do you know how much these people have invested outside the igboland? The people staying in london, paris or america will not feel anything because they are outside the shores of the country but those people in lagos, abuja. kano, kaduna and jos will be shattered very well by this development.

In 1999 when igbos did not want to build anything in the north, you told everyone that it is one nigeria and everyone fell for it and they started buying lands. Why didn't call for a meeting that biafra will come later that they should be careful?

If you do not have asset recovery plan to regain lost investments due to biafra, then I believe you will be dealing with many igbos who will troop in enmasse to vote to stay with Nigeria. You have not thought of how many of these people will be left stranded. You have not talked about the way the economy will be run in the first 10years because there is no blueprint about that.

Gbam! You nailed it bro. I have done some deep thinking on this, and I finally arrived at a conclusion: Kanu Biafra is a disaster waiting to happen. Nobody builds a world class economy on the hinges of 'Divine Mandate', a favorite quote of theirs. An economic cum state structure must be practical, predictable and realizable over a stipulated time frame. Something I'm not seeing with the present crop of IPOB. Noise noise noise everywhere.

Even if the Nigeria we have now seems not to be working, I will not go for a biafra that will be a retrogressive state. You hinge on central africa when you are not sure of west africa. I do not really understand why people of this age and time will stop being practical and logical in their thinking. You should learn to at least debate constructively with people sitting on the fence rather than insulting them. They may not know what will befall them until they try referendum and see many diasporan igbos coming enmasse to vote to stay in Nigeria.

These guys are very funny, they want osinbajo to skip elders to talk to a man who doesnt hold any cultural or political title to his name? In igbo cultural setting, do you think it right to consult such a person?

If IPOB wants to have dialogue with Acting President, they should go through the right channel by writing all Igbo groups about the supposed meeting which in return they will have an agreement with FG on the proposed fixed date.

They can't be wailing and at same time expect Acting President to have a dialogue with them via an illegal way.

Perhaps only IPOB wings want to see acting president abi wetin sef?

Referendum should be done peacefully just like the way Benin republic and Cameroon (for example) did theirs yet they enjoy good relationship with Nigeria.

Agreed one day biafra would be achieved but if the current tongue lash from them continues after they must have seek a separate country, please who will be their trade partner? The very people they insulted will be their saving grace as their business patronage may drop sporadically due to their arrogant attitude.

Also like you mentioned without mincing words, this is their best shot to have a formidable presidential candidate for the next coming election but the chances are so slim owing to recent corrosive words from them. Anyway they don't care about the country anymore (I mean Igbos).

The very educated ones might not want to go with us. Reasons been that they have not communicated the economic blueprint the new country will follow to survive the first 10years. This IPOB is gradually becoming a mixture of ethnic and religious fanatism. Igbos do not bend for no man but seeing them raising a man above God is something I cannot open my eyes and follow.

We do not want the UN or any organization in the southeast because they are not speaking the minds of intellectual Igbo's. You cannot convince me without either cursing me or threatening me. Some say it is heaven on earth. A country of which you have not even generated up to 100billion naira is heaven on earth? How do you take care of over 15million Igbo's who will their jobs, houses, businesses, schools and handwork to come to the east? How do you plan to keep a man idle who is used to seeing 1million naira weekly.

The infighting will be too much and the competition will be too aggressive to be healthy. Without any feasible economic plan, we do not want Biafra.

I was a staunch supporter of this movement but recently I have seen some dubious moves from these ipob members. If you go to the page, all you see are heaps of insults on anything that doesn't sound fanatical and crazy. Many of these guys are always ready to curse your family because of your own idea.

The country was fairly stable before these guys came to be, at least the only noise emanating from this country was from the northeast and south south.

Now they have created discomfort on Igbo's in the north. Everyone is wary of the northerners close to him. Making so much noise and cursing people will not bring Biafra but create enemity with our neighbors.

I was having a conversation with an educated northerner on Monday, he said without mincing words that the igbos just buried their political power by showing others that if given power at the center, they are going to break the fragile wall in the country. He further went on to say, "No more trust from your tribe".

IPOB do not have guns, all fighter jets are in Kaduna, naval base is not in the east. if you start a war, you all will be slaughtered because even if our brothers will aids, it will be blocked again.

You don't need to burn the whole house because you are leaving.

Ultimatum or no ultimatum, our stance remains thesame!

Let the country divide peacefully after which everyone can relocate!

You can't ask anyone to relocate when the division process has not been concluded, conclude it and see if any Igbo remains anywhere outside igboland!

If the north wants a breakup, they have their members in the HOR through which to channel their idealogies!

1)Why is the SW so scared of condemning the approach of the north towards secession as it did to NK led agitation, under the guise of "following due peaceful process",what are they scared of?

2)why can't the SW tell the north to represent their case through their members in the house of reps like they always tell igbos?

3)why haven't they threatened the north with war like they did to Igbos?

What are they scared of?

Why are you blaming the west. why do you attach so much importance to them?
You are one giving these people words and it is not funny anymore. I spent most part of my afternoon fighting them on Facebook based on the fact that you guys keep mentioning them.

Oya now if you are so confident tell your government to start another war and see how fast this contraption will collapse.

Assad thought that by strong arming the protesters and killing them, they will cower and run away. 6 years later, look at Syria today.

In the east we know that we can rebuild faster and stronger than any other group with no assistance. We have done it before and we can do it even much better and faster. Same cannot be said for the zoo.

Please tell Nigerian government to start a war and see Biafra become a country at the end of this year. You think western nations will support Islamic Nigeria over Biafra.

I don't know why you engage in unnecessary argument with these guys. No matter what they say don't be distracted by arguing with them.

The development of the igboland will only work when it is people oriented and not government oriented. Government should only be concerned about policy making drafted from reports coming from our educational, commercial, industrial, traditional and other sectors.

igboland should have a body that concentrate its mind and body on the economic development and expansion of the land.

With diaspora tax coming from all parts of the world and with smart loans and investment, the igboland is not too big that a development in a place will not be felt in other places. If it goes as planned, a man from Abia will be able to go to work in IMO and return to his home.

My main aim is to dredge obuaku and pay the ijaws and Ibibio billions of naira to allow us dredge through their communities. If granted and it works, then our dream has come to reality. Abia state will have super highways and rail lines connecting 4 different places in each state of igboland. This will make goods, people and services to reach different areas in due time.

The Alaigbo development fund will have to recreate Onitsha market to Onitsha mall city. Due to the household name the market has generated for itself in the last forty years, the market should be upgraded so that foreign buyers and tourists can come in and enjoy trading in the largest market in Africa. A mall city well designed to serve all the needs and wants of everyone in the world will be the target of the new onitsha market.

to be continued...

I just love the way this conversation is going but I will love to contribute.

Before Biafra comes, we should establish a trust fund and asset generation scheme whereby 60% of Igbo's staying outside the borders of igboland can contribute an agreed amount.

Those in the western world will make it a progress because of the obvious exchange difference and those within the shores of our present country can also donate.

This monies will be a must and it will be termed diaspora taxation system. Though it is called diaspora tax, those within the border too will be part of the tax regime.

We plan to raise close to 750billion naira yearly to kick start major capital projects that will ease business discomfort. With such plans in place and the small size of the east, then we are good to say, the total development of the east is a sure thing within the next 10years.

vantage001:

We scream marginalization because our numbers in the top echelons is mitigated by skewed and unmerited appointments by backward northern godfathers.
It dosen't mean we are not there, it means we are not progressing as fast as we should due to nepotism. We are everywhere and we got there on merit.
You mention igbo marginalization in army, navy or whatever, but that is not exclusive to the south-east. The military is dominated undeservingly if i may add by the north at the expense of the entire south. Infact there are probably more igbos in the military than the rest of the south or atleast one of the most represented. The past immediate COAS was an igbo man, but it dosen't take away the fact that we are under-represented in the military just like the rest of the south. The fact that we are the only ones with the sense and the voice to speak doesn't mean we have no presence in the top echelons.
Infact, the only place where you can say there is no igbo presence is the presidency. We have not gotten the presidency and i agree with on that as a form of marginalization, and also the fact that the fact the SE gets very little from the Nigerian state.
But that has only proven our genius to survive in harshest conditions.
You say you don't want to chest-beat and you are busy listing crappy airlines as achievements. I was expecting you to tell me your northern life-expectancy, or literacy rate, or poverty rate that is better than the average igbo man or igboland to justify your first class status.
I can as well start listing multi-national companies owned by various educated igbo men and women in virtually every sector of the economy.
If you are first class, then i really can't see it because It has not really helped you much. The north is poorer than the rest of Nigeria.
And the only unfortunate reason why you dominate our polity is because the south is filled with saboteurs and chameleons.

The airlines he mentioned are equivalent to ekene dili chukwu and young shall grow. The businessmen he mentioned are the ones who used man know man in govt to gain wealth.

Since Usman Dan fodio defeated them, they have remained underdeveloped with the sense of perpetual poverty ravaging their brains.

What is funny is some Nigerians particularly yorubas think it's natural and okay for Lagos to have 2 seaports and largest functional international airport by design and for SE to have none. Some actually think Lagos has all these ports and airport by merit. When you try to to reason with them that why are Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Onne and Onitsha ports not as functional as Lagos ports, they come up with all manners of excuses but you tell that that Dangote is using Calabar seaport to import most of his goods into SE, and then they keep quiet.Lol! Same goes for the airport, why are Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna and Kano the only functional airports in the country for international direct flight services? The fact is if you go right now, I mean now, to Lagos and Abuja, count and interview those traveling to international destinations, I assure you over 50% are Igbos. Then why can't they travel directly from Enugu, Uyo, Calabar, Asaba or Port Harcourt? Same goes for their goods...all these companies Reno talked about in Nnewi, Aba and Onitsha import their goods via Lagos port, that's over 1000 kms drive and paying all kinds of customs fees and bribes on the way to finally make it to SE, and you tell me this is fair?

Yorubas...how will you people feel having to drive 1000kms to SE to fly and clear your goods? Not only do you do this one time only but a constant thing for the past 50 yrs? And you think it's ok? Yorubas....where are your conscience? Do you people have feelings at all? Do you have hearts? I commend Fayose and Fani but more yorubas need to come out and condemn this evil and wickedness!

Wait, were you waiting for Yoruba's to speak for you? Do you learn from history at all? Why do you call another tribe when you keep electing fools except Abaribe to go to the senate?

Leave the Yoruba's alone and let them play their politics. Stop waiting for federal government please. You guys are really annoying me. After 50years, you are still blaming people who do not care about you? Is this how you love them?

Areas like Naibawa, hotoro, ungwan uku, kurna asabe, gyadi gyadi, kabuga, and alot of other areas are teeming with yorubas. Same with their higher institutions too. That guy is just a bloody liar. Yorubas are way more than igbos both in the city and environs.

Ask an average Hausa man, the highest number of non indigenes in Kano are Igbo's, followed by Benue and later Yoruba from kwara or Kaduna south people. Igbo owns many properties in kano more than any other non indigenes to show how they dominate the area. those places you mention, do u dominate there or you live in pockets with Hausa's lording over you all.

Read what I wrote...

I'm talking of winning APC candidacy...

And, the determinant for Kano votes largely depends on the disposition of Muhammadu Buhari. If Buhari doesn't support Kwankwaso, he is OYO in Kano just as he was in 2003.

I love Kwankwasiyyaa but Buhari command the votes in Kano...

Tonye, in 2003, Buhari had that power over Kwankwaso but in 2017, with the development he brought to his people and the kwankwasiyya buildings everywhere, this man has cult followership in kano, I am telling you. This man has no rival when it comes to politics in kano except the emirates, abacha family, tahir and some other elite families in kano of which he is their pal.

Even Ganduje trying to mush up support had to go build court road also known as okorocha road to get the igbos to love him for his rerun in 2019.

When it comes to support base, he has support to as far as the north east. They even have kwankwasiyya meetings on his behalf. Don't underestimate his power, the power brokers are trying to sideline baba in case he becomes anti-north 2019.

This Buhari that they might not support come 2019, you are giving much power to.

We are talking about presidential elections and decision's based and stability and a candidate potential to consolidate power among all power blocs "succesfully" after the elections and you are talking about an isolated case. Who knows Lamido in the South. How will he guarantee the continous flow of oil, international goodwill we now enjoy because of Buhari's stance on corruption.

The people you discuss politics everyday with are an unrepresentative sample size. All your inference biased. Please apply logic and not emotion in politics, once you see the opposition emotional you have won.

I believe you underestimate these people in the north. As you have known, pdp and APC have somehow zoned the hot seat to the north, that means whosoever wish to be president in the north can contest. The northerners no matter their power play will field a person with southern appeal.

All I am saying is this, I careless who they will field but the south doesn't have a chance in both parties come 2019.

I said it before and I will say it again. "the north sleeps well when the west rules" but it will never sleep if the South East or any well known friend to the South East goes even an inch close to the presidency , the reason's are obvious and the present call for Biafra from the South East has made it so much so that several other ethnic groups would rather they never do.

@TonyeBarcanista claims that Osinbajo is not the favored candidate for 2019, however he has provided no facts. Let me start buy reminding you that the north supported Obasanjo twice for the presidency and Jonathan once (Jonathan fell out of their graces when it was evident, he favored the east more than the west and north and his lackadaisical attitude towards insurgency in Borno state)

PDP ticket will go to the north because they need it for votes. APC ticket will go to whomever will guarantee , stability after the presidential election has been won by the APC. APC has Buhari, so the idea of bringing a northern candidate would be stupidity when all Buhari as to do, is raise your hand in a crowd and say "namu ne". He can do this for anyone and they would win, this has been proven by the victory so many candidate won in the north simply because of Buhari. You need Buhari support to win 2019, not a northern candidate

V.P Osinbajo is the most favorite member of the APC at the moment after Buhari. Tinubu recently received accolades for states as far as Borno.
Lagos alone can provide funding for the entire 2019 presidential election and Lagos is Tinubu domain.

Osinbajo was placed as the acting president of the country for 50 + days and he performed excellently , he received accolades for several notable Nigerian's and has also been identified as the reason Nigeria's oil production numbers have risen.

Buhari has praised Osinbajo several times for his performance. He has given him various important roles in which his leadership skills have been displayed. As the V.P Osinbajo is the natural successor to Buhari - this is political tradition in Nigeria, and it is not about to change.

It is very unlikely that Buhari would annoint a candidate other than Osinbajo, even though he has done so several times indirectly. The recent would be Osinbajo attendace of Pres. Buhari P.A wedding several governors and traditional leaders from the north where in attendance. We all know wedding have always been an avenue for political meetings , introductions and affirmations. Osinbajo has made friends in areas where it matters - the North for the votes and the Niger-Delta for the oil.

@TonyeBarcanista need to tell us how Osinbajo would not emerge the Presidential candidate for 2019. Let us not forget, he is also married to Pa. Awolowo's grand daughter. This is a natural succession. PDP does not stand a chance.

Even if Bihari pours all the anointing oil on osinbajo, there is no way he'll win. The north has sworn to retain it and there's no way you guys are getting it from them. Its not what you read online or newspaper, if you are on ground, you will understand.

TonyeBarcanista:
It is too early to even make prediction considering that there is lots of horse trading, alignment and realignment of forces that is ongoing.

But one truth and fact we must embrace is that whether Buhari runs or not, APC and PDP tickets will go to northern candidates. That means those calling Yemi Osinbajo as favorite are on a long thing. He will even be lucky to emerge runnerup in his party primary against the candidate supported by the power bloc within the Presidency, which is in firm grip of APC machinery at present. This truth Tinubu knows.

Tambawal and Mansari will most likely go for second term. Elrufai would run for second term if Buhari group refuse to back him as replacement for Baba.

Kwankwaso can never win APC nomination, even his return ticket as Senator for Kano Central is not sure as Ganduje is determined to crush him.

Atiku candidacy within APC is not sure, perhaps he may move to the new mega party to give it a shot.

Saraki giving a shot at the Presidency is unlikely, but if he has such it will be interesting.

Sule Lamido is trying to build is base but a divided PDP could force him to either stay or seek a ticket elsewhere other than APC.

However, we can always wait to see the outcome of what is going on behind the scene with respect to the much talked mega party. That could be the deal breaker.

2019 WILL be interesting

Ganduje cannot and I repeat cannot stop kwankwaso in Kano. I know this because I am here in Kano. Kwankwaso is too strong to be undermined by Ganduje! Who born am. Ganduje should be scared because he might not even win the second term in office in Kano with many politicians trying to oust him from office. They keep building individual projects here and there to appease the masses.

I understand that there is marginalization in the country which is due to the political set up of the nation but ndibayi should know when to stop this cry. The Christianity that we are shouting, how many Igbo's are in Rome? How many have been popes? Do you think they don't have Igbo district heads in the east? why cry more that the bereaved. Religion is a decision you personally make and if you are marginalized based on your personal decision, then you can change your decision to follow a particular denomination.

I do not like my people coming online to just make empty noise which will make them look stupid or to a very large extent demean the great minds of the Igbo nation.
